that is what I hope for. Specializations never felt like we were experts in that combat field. It was just an extra spell/talent tree. A part of me is worried specializations will just be awarded when we max out our warrior/mage/rogue tree and we choose our new specialization. Like Mass Effect 2. This was the only thing from Mass Effect I wouldn't want brough to Dragon Age.relhart wrote...
I'm hoping they give the specs a little more depth. To go back to the shapeshifter example, I used a mod that allowed you to take the form of a lot of different enemies in the game and gain some of their abilities. You had to kill a certain number of every creature type (varied depending on how powerful the forms were) before you unlocked it though.
They should add things like that for every spec in DA2, and cut the ones that just give a few redundant situationally useful abilities.
It worked for Mass Effect but in Dragon Age it felt like you needed someone to teach you these things. I hope specializations are still taught, and hopefully they unlock an entire group of talents/spells the depth of our a say the two-handed weapons tree.
If we get ME2's cluster**** upgrade system in place of inventory, I'm blaming you.
I'm also blaming you if the camera focuses on Isabella's "features" for every scene she's in.

It certainly looks like you have more abillities and skills in DA 2.

Hmmm...I thought so.Eudaemonium wrote...
Templar and Reaver probably share certain skills with the original: Holy Smite and Cleanse Area or Blood Frenzy/Frightening appearance, for example. They probably also have a fair few other abilities, and even the common or shared skills will probably be revamped considerably.
And I really hope Holy Smite is still in for the Templars.

It is. In one of the videos(cant remember which one) it showed Templar Hawke using Holy Smite, and cleanse area.

I never saw the appeal of Spirit Warrior. I know a lot of people loved it, so it must have been doing something right, but Fade Burst was the only SW talent I ever used regularly.

Fenris has a unique specialization that only he possesses because of the lyrium infused into his skin (which means the player character doesn't get, so I've been told). It could be considered Spirit Warrior, but it is different. You can see him do the whole "slip partially into the fade" thing when fighting rock wraiths.
