Sundsvenall looks to be a well crafted area. It doesn't hurt that I have a soft spot for snowy landscapes. Also, I don't think I have ever seen that lighthouse used before.

I have been working with the RWS Grand Citadel tileset and having lots of fun. It allows more use of elevation and the third dimension in tileset areas. It is also nice to add variety to the scenery of interior areas.

I have just implemented a new system for charm person and dominate person that will allow you to have a conversation with opponents that you charm or dominate. I always felt it was silly that all you could do with charmed or dominated opponent was use them for combat. So now you can do more. Also, Charm person now makes the charmed opponent fight for you. It does not get added to your pary and you cannot control it, but it does more than just sit there.

Currently working on backstories for all my major characters and beefing up conversations and conversation options to allow checks for memorized spells that will be useful in the conversation.

I am going to experiment with segmental playtesting. This way, as one part of the campaign is being tested, I can continue to progres with the rest of it. This hopefully will make development more efficient.

Current Stats:

4 areas

75 scripts

41 conversations

lots of explosions

I have made one change from The Wizard's Apprentice I. In the sequel, all subterranean areas will be dark, very dark. Some will require the use of torches, the spell "light", darkvision, or magical artifacts. I think this will add to the realism of the gameplay experience and make the darkvision abilities of certain races more useful. It will also give a new use to cantrips as human wizards will find themselves casting light alot, or toting around lots of torches.

Things are progressing well. This weekend there was a bit of hiccup as I had to travel unexpectedly and I put NWN2 on my laptop. I was concerned because it is running windows 7, but with an install of DX9 prior to installation of NWN2. Everything installed and updated properly (and slowly). And I should be able to get some more work done this weekend.

The plot is developing quite nicely and the characters are shaping up pleasantly. I feel that there is much more depth in the sequel than the first. I had originally hoped to release next month, but that just was not a realistic hope based on the scope and depth of the sequel. I am hoping to release in late spring.

I just finished another area and things continue to move at a steady pace.  With the excellent help of Kamal and PJ156, I have found two creative commons sites with free music which I plan to incorporate into the sound track.  I also have made progress on new creatures for the wilds of the frozen north.

I'm working on an Ice Troll and will post a picture of the rough draft when I get it up and running.

Here is my recently completed Ice Troll. As far as ice troll loincloths go, grey is the new black.

Looks good! The only thing to keep in mind with reskins is that the player is sometimes capable of having that appearance. For instance, the polymorph spell lets me become a Troll so I'd look like an ice troll in your mod. Not necessarily a problem--it wouldn't bother me--but just something to keep in mind.

Is that troll happy to see somebody?

Will there be magical torches? The torch "animation" is cool, especially with a crown.

That troll made me soil myself fourscore and a fortnight over.

Snow campaigns have a warm place in my heart. Ironic isnt it.

ps are you using the right trees? There is a group called winter I believe, and then another one called snow. Looks like your trees lack snow just thought I would put that out there cuz I had an issue myself.

Just finished the arctic wyvern re-skin. The wyvern is the one on the left.

No, not McWyverns (good one). You take an Arctic Wyvern's carcass to the butcher and sell the Wings to Chilis. Arctic. Chilis. Hot Wings. Yeah?

I think the wyvern looks great realy quite the frosty fellow. You have done a good job there.

I think the area needs more worj though, perhaps some trees? Certainly some snow.

That reminds me - for some reason the winter version of the snowgum in the toolset has no leaves on it, even though eucalypts are evergreen. It's just one of my many biological peeves with this game. It's as if the game designers did absolutely no research in the peer-reviewed biology literature at all...

Come to think of it - why does the wyvern model have external ears? Aren't they supposed to be reptiles? Another one to add to the list!
