How difficult is it to get all of the entries and expansions to the codex? I would assume that you would need to be very careful with spells if you only have Morrigan and Wynne casting, but what about the other entries? Does anyone know of a guide?

Completing the codex on one play through? Not likely. The entries that would be really hard to unlock on one play through would be all the item and spell combination entries. But getting all the character, creature and lore entries is possible.

I tried myself to get all the codex entries in Dragon Age: Origins from one play through. I am a human noble rogue. Check my pictures here:

So the entries that are missing are:

1. In Magic and Religion-> Mana and the Use of Magic

2. In Culture and History -> The Brecilian Forest - A story of the Brecilian Forest
                                              -> Arlathan: Part Two
                                              -> The Dalish Elves: An account of the Dalish people

3. In Controls -> Retrieve your Equipment
                           -> Codex Entries
                            ->  Combat Basics - Mage
                            -> Recipes
                             -> Disguised!
                             -> Level Up
                              -> Party Members

I think some of the Controls codex are bugged. If exists a mod to unlock all the codex please tell me. !

Hahah! I think I found another thread you posted this in, Calin. Fantastic work though. Also Human Noble ftw.

I looked for a mod and found none which I thought was odd. I would be looking for more of a "patch" mod if anyone was interested. Something like the Ancient Elven Boots that just adds missing entries to all origins or fixing those bugged Controls entries.

It is not bugged. You cannot get all entries in one character.

The Dalish elves are a good example, you will only get "Arlathan part 2" if you play as Dalish.

What do you win if you find them all?

I think the consensus is that you'll win nothing other than a full codex, Leonia. That's all I'm looking to get.

Stoomkal, the bugs we were referring to are in the Controls heading. I have leveled up, so why don't I have Level Up? I understand the Origin limits even if I don't agree with them. I think it was an over site. If it wasn't then there wouldn't be a counter over the entries constantly reminding me that I was missing entries.

Still calling for a mod if anyone is interested. I may actually have to learn the Toolset for this one.

I wrote a script (actually two because there a just to many plot files to include) once to get all entries in the game, besides some racial only sub entries, the complete Characters section and the entries that were added with the DLCs. But the used toolset files were older than the ingame ones in some cases and therefore some problems with the language versions different from the English one occured, so I never uploaded them.

An easy and reliable solution is the zz_getsetplotflag script (you can find it here with a small instruction).

For example:
Mana and the Use of Magic: cod_mgc_mana
The Brecilian Forest - A story of the Brecilian Forest: cod_hst_brecilian
Arlathan: Part Two: cod_hst_dalish2
The Dalish Elves: An account of the Dalish people: cod_hst_dalish_culture
Retrieve your Equipment: tut_bhn_equipment
Codex Entries: tut_codex_item
Combat Basics - Mage: tut_combat_basic_magic (0 and 1)
Recipes: tut_crafting_firstrec
Disguised!: tut_disguise
Level Up: tut_levelup
Party Members: tut_party (0 and 1)

Use it like this:
zz_getsetplotflag set tut_combat_basic_magic 0 1
zz_getsetplotflag set tut_combat_basic_magic 1 1
to get the entry and the update of "Combat Basics - Mage". Its

I hope this helps.:D

I tried to run the script for disguised (used 0 1, used 1 by itself for true I guess) and no luck. Also, I noticed that I was supposed to get Codex entry: The Noble Families of Ferelden from the gnawed noble tavern book, but when I clicked on it nothing happened. I cannot run the toolset for some reason on my computer (It does not install properly no matter what I do; I gave up after all the troubleshooting on the microsoft website did not work).

Is there a list of plot flags for codex entries? looking for "c o d" in the designerplots.erf with notepad only shows a small list of these and they are repetitive throughout the file.

Thanks.

I'm sorry, I forgot that the "plt" prefix is unnecessary for the script. I also updated my project with almost all plot files.
