Deus Ex is giving the full text off of the paraphrases- Point: Deus Ex

Text (wheel, voice, whatever) in a crpg IS a pharaphrase, ALWAYS, for the way it works, and it will always represent a pharaphrased system, no matter the different approach.

Please let's not use terms we don't comprehend their meanings in full, would we? I already said that before but it seems people continue to talk about wheel as a pharaphrase while text only as not, in a computer game, and that's clearly an idiocy. It would be like saying that the action of killing a person is varied by the different means you can execute the same.

I don't like people going to voiced, and paraphrased systems because people are too impatient. I loved that in fallout new vegas and I put the voice for the line of words in my head.

Have you no imaginations?

That's not why we like it.  Well, that's not why I like it.

I hate silent protagonist setups because I want my character to communicate on the same level as everyone else.

Of course.  Although the equally condescending reply would be, "Are you not aware you're playing a scripted game?"

Heh, I'm really excited by both games. Deus Ex more tbh, 'coz I didnt enjoy a cyberpunk universe/idea (or it's extension) in a while now. I have HIGH hopes but also great fear about this one.

What I hope fo DA2 is to be an inventive, at some extent, game like DE was :)

I know I'm kind of Necromancing this thread, but IGN has DA2 and DX:HR on the same day,and also Homefront is coming out this day.  It's Super Tuesday of the video gaming world!

It's been awhile since I spammed htis board with Tetris talk

Puzzle games these days are trying to bridge too many genre's.  We need proper puzzle games.  Even Tetris has sold out to the casuals

@Thread

Yes, yes indeed.  HOpefully this Deus Ex reboot will play well as now that I am trying to play the second one (and teh spinoff that was renamed), both are a bit of a chore...

How so?

I'm thinking of getting the first one.

Yeah, really.  The first one really introduces you to the series, while DX2's story is really stand-alone, a lot of things would be confusing without the backstory (and a really-really good backstory that's better than the sequel).

Deus Ex could really benefit from a remake with the Human Revolution engine.

/wishful thinking :)

WEll I don't know what it is about Invisible War but it just doesn't I don't know have it compared to the first. I'm not sure what it is, but I was feeling it during Deus Ex, but not during Invisible War

And the pseudo spinoff? Kind a reworked game so that it wouldn't be a Deus Ex game but there are obvious similarities. Its just a balls to the wall action game though.

That is great news. 2011 was looking to be a really terrible year for gaming.

I always had a feeling this would happen, but I already waited so long that it doesn't really matter. I am kind of glad, actually, that I can focus on just one game now!

How unfortunate.

I suspect DA 2 will also get a push back, but only by a couple of months.
