I am worried i will not be satisfied with my money worth on dragon age 2 i heard on many forums and i think one of the devs said da2 is shorter than origins but a bit longer than awakening i dont think its worth 60 euro if were only getting half the content origins had, it took me 45 hours to complete main quest and about 10 more for other side quests so i expect dragon age 2 should be around the same lenght as origins if not longer if anyone knows can they confirm if it will be the same lenght as origins?.

Longer than Awakening, shorter than Origins. An article said it'll be ME2's length (for me it was 35 hours to do everything)

Shorter than Origins? :crying:

It better have the insane replayability that Origins had or else... :police:

It will be the worlds first self-perpetuating game and will never end. It will gain sentience and start taking over military satellites and computers and start the end days. John Connor, where are you? :)

Seriously, it all depends on how quickly you often play RPGs. If your first playthrough of DA:O was about 60-70 hrs, you will probably be looking at anywhere between 40-50 hrs for DA2. Money wise, you would be looking at about .66 Euros/hr for your money.

It's silly to expect the sequel to be Origins length, Origins itself was almost x10 longer than the average game. :P

Could have a drastic branching narrative to make up for it (here's hoping)

friend/rivalry system also seems like itll add to the replay value

This is what happens when you have a voiced protaganist.

Multiple Hawke personalities, (we assume) the choice of who-dies companion-wise at the start of the game and such should add quite a bit of replayability.

Now we know they have double the cinematic staff at work, I'm not sure that's a valid assumption.

Frankly, I'd rather sacrifice races for a voiced protagonist (though I still hate the paraphrasing). I could do without the simple line changed that affected almost nothing in the game.

In terms of origins and it's lenght, they just wanted to release the game more quickly to make DA the CoD of RPGs

The Warden had those too and more probably. Are you saying Shepard has 3 different personalities?

There's screenshots of both siblings being alive

Hmm... That IS a big part of it, isn't it?

..... Thinking about it doesn't help. I don't know how they'll make up for that massive dent in playthrough variety.

I'd say Shepard has three different personalities, yes. Add "Sarcastic Good", "Sarcastic Neutral", "Sarcastic Bad" and such and you've got quite a list of personalities.

... though there's no Aveline in said screenshot. A few people have assumed you either leave Aveline and save Carver or take Aveline and lose Carver.

Did origins have the same system? Where being constantly sarcastic would lead to more sarcastic options being available? I'm honestly not sure on that one.

This. I personally enjoy very long games, but they aren't popular nowadays.

Still, if it's in the 40 hr range, I'll be happy.

It's probably just a line change with no affect on the game, much like when Shepard spoke without promting you

Very true. Although I do kinda want it to be long....I don't want it to be tedious.

I personally wish DAO would have been a few hours shorter.  Deep roads and the Fade come to mind...

Frankly, DAO did get really tedious in my second playthrough (I've only played through it twice). However, from what I've seen of the leaked demos, most locations are simply skipped with a narrated tapestry cutscene (the destruction of Lothering, Gwaren etc) which really dissapointed me

It will be as long as it takes you to finish. Times will differ between players.
