So I've been having a few issues with DLC and one of suggestions was to make sure the "Dragon Age Updater" service was running. So I did that, and when I next tried to run the game it said "do you want to update to version 1.01?" Sure why not, I figured .What could possibly go wrong?

Here's what went wrong - now when I click on the DA:O shortcut on my desktop, or in the Games folder, nothing happens. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. No new processes appear in task manager, the front-end with "Support" and "Play" options etc. does not appear - absolutely nothing happens.

I'm in absolute despair at the moment. This is such an amazingly shoddy way to treat paying customers - endless problems with DLC that are not getting sorted, and a 1.01 patch that wipes out the game. Absolutely appalling.

I have Windows 7 64 Ultimate if that makes any difference.
