I just kill her when talking to Cullen.
Blood Mages should be afraid of me.
Then she attacks and dies.
Yeah but that's once you've already endured the torture of her fade dream. THAT'S what I can't stand the most, her fade dream.
I so wish there was a way to alter the party once you enter the tower. I tried the metagame item to bring up the party selection screen but Wynne was still grayed out. There's just no escaping her.
Wynne...why do I have to take you? :/

Oh, I know. But you still have to endure bits of it (mere seconds as they may be) and you miss out on watching another companion's fade sequence.
@Ian Polaris
Thanks for the suggestions, though I already knew about them really. The thing that bothers me in the Cullen situation (as well as the start of the quest), is that to get her to attack you, you have to express a desire to kill the mages, which is not what most of my characters want. So again, killing her requires that I break OOC for a few moments.
I do LOVE the blood mage confrontation however. It's the main reason why I do take her with me when playing a blood mage. Getting to hear Irving to tell her to STFU is just plain awesome.

In my recent playthrough, Morrigan and Sten's badassery in their dream balanced Wynne's dullness. But yes it is annoying that we have to take her with us, we should have had the option to tell her to watch over the children. And of course we have Irving who is too blind to notice who reallly saved him, completely ignoring us and praising Wynne who is gracious enough to remember that "she had help".
Ofc, she's so special that Fade itself shines out of her bum.
Seriously, how can anyone not love sweet, golden Wynne to bits?
/sarcasm off.

This is what irritated me the most. Wynne is probably the most obnoxious character in game.

Oh I don't know about that. She is certainly taxing, but some of what she says in dialogue is useful, if only to focus the mind.

Seriously, Wynn talks about how proud she used to be in her youth, and how she was a snotty know-it-all. Well, not much really changed. Now she's that person who, just because they've got a few extra decades under their belt, that they can dispense "advice" whenever they want and everyone has to listen to them because "They've been there, they know."
Most of the companions have begun to get under my skin, lately, to be honest.

Totally not trolling, I do find her very attractive. Her and Dr. Chakwas. rrrrrrowl.
I started counting just how many levels that is wrong on, but town planning phoned and said that I had exceeded current standards. ;-p
I can already hear Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" as Wynne sultry washes Dog with her special bubbly soaps. Oh yeah.

I used to like Wynn. Then the glow ran out on subsequent play throughs. Her advice turned into self-important speeches. Her stories became her projecting her ideals on the main character. Her wisdom turned into "I'm old and know better." condensation.

Good or Bad - advice is something worth listening to. It allows us to discover where we are in error and where we are not. To that end I find her useful. No one is perfect, and perfection is a dubious goal at best, but allowing Wynne to preach her sermons on life, the world and everything in it, at the very least focuses our mind.

I'm scared forever with that image. Maybe that desire/pride demon in her would add some spice to her meat.

Eh, I guess this is were we think differently. I only listen to advice if I actually ask for it, not if it's being shoved down my throat.
A very important skill I learned is to smile and nod, a lot.
Best way to dsmiss people, while also making them feel good about sharing their boundless wisdom.

But I don't want to make her feel good!
Since I can't bring myself to find a logical reason as to why my canon warden would kill her at the tower (since she DOESN'T want to kill the mages), I think I will follow Skadi's lead and recruit Wynne just to annoy her.
First step will be sending her into the Fade through Jowan's blood ritual.

Your canon is a rogue right?
Rogues are supposed to manipulate people's emotions and make them feel what they want to feel.
Leliana can teach you about that

Can someone explain the general use of the term canon in gaming. I'm confused by it.
By canon playthrough we mean, or at least I mean, "favorite playthrough" or the one you identify with the most.
In my cast, my "canon character"'s personality is based on myself as much as possible. But that's just me.

Hmm, that's a good point. Roguish Dana certainly knows how to manipulate people.
She could let the old hag feel like she's having a good influence on her and then whammo! Nasty comment or decision that brings her approval down by 50 points.
Actually I have a plan I think. Dana will recruit her and after getting annoyed at her for her fade dream and her comment with Irving, she'll let her "bla, bla, bla" all she wants, and then she'll offer a rotten onion as a thank you after every conversation.
And Wynne will be getting a certain Hobble-Stick as a Christmas gift.
"What's that Wynne? You don't like it? But your stories made me feel so warm and fuzzy that I had to shove a stick up your... ahem, merry Christmas Wynne!"
Gotta make sure Feastday Gifts wasn't a complete waste of money!

Can't you refuse Wynn joining the party during the whole "I want to go with them when I'm needed here." stuff at the end of the Tower quest line?
Sure, but if I'm going to suffer through her fade dream, I'm going to make her pay!! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/bandit.png[/smilie]

Makes sense. I tend to see my first run in that way. But I'm now trying to develop characters that approximate myself. I'm weak at role-playing but I want to get better.
I was the same. I can safely say that DA:O is my first real RPing experience.
In fact after playing DA:O and RPing heavily in it, I want to replay other RPGs (like Kotor) and try to RP there as well.
EDIT:
@ Zjarcal.
See? Being rogues is fun

All my other runs are alternate universes of sorts.
EDIT: Origins was also the first game where I seriously RP'd. On the other RPGs I had played before I simply picked whatever option had the best outcome or the one I liked the most.
I'm also looking forward to playing more RPGs now and seriously RPing them.
