one of my top mods for DA:O was hide helmet!
speacialy beacuse some where realy ugly and other cover the face.
some times i didnt mind but, the rogue helmets where so ugly, and the mages ones where juk, and the soldiers ones i like most of the but some times when you wanted to take that screen shot of your character killing the dragon with a helmet covering his/her face, was unclimatic!

First off, I promise nothing. Anything can happen between here and March....

I know this particular feature was something a few people held near and dear to their hearts, so there you go. Breaking news straight to the forum. Not something I do often, but hey, it's late, I'm tired, have a cookie.
And you know the best part? I'm willing to bet there's a sizeable number of people who will see the new helmets (for all classes) and not bother turning them off at all, because they are wicked.
Happy Monday, folks.
Great news! but.....Mike looks like.....Loghain....and I HATE Loghain.......

Pretty positive that Mass Effect had a helmet toggle. Not sure about Mass Effect 2.nightcobra8928 wrote...

Finally one thing I actually wanted from Mass Effect.
don't you mean "for" mass effect? since as far as i know mass effect doesn't have a helmet toggle (keeping helmet's stats but deciding whether or not it's visible)

Mass Effect did have a helmet toggle. Mass Effect 2 did not, but allowed you to customize your helmet independent of your outfit except in the case of DLC armor sets which had fixed, un-toggle-able helmets.
ok i stand corrected

everything can change from now until march?
3 months from release and the game is not in feature lockdown already?

If it causes some sort of currently unforeseen instability, I'm sure the code for toggling helmets is narrow enough that it is, comically, toggleable.Upsettingshorts wrote...
I imagine most of it is, but not minor stuff like a helmet toggle?

Feature lockdown does not mean that things can't be cut if they can't be made to function properly. That's what polish is all about: making features/content work or cutting them.

I could understand then if helmets had to be cut for whatever reason. They're non-essential. Still a very nice option to not have to see it. It's kind of a natural thing after spending time in character creation.
Unless of course, you're ashamed of what you made. I was going to use Ugly Shepard as an example, but that's to be celebrated and shown to everyone.

Can it be done per character, or is it a global option. What if I hate Hawk's helmet but love another persons?
Companion outfits are static. They won't be wearing helmets, most likely.
