I'm not talking about Shep going psycho like Jack, but even if Shep decided to put his/her anger aside for the mission, not eve bringing it up once completely unbelievable.

I agree that this is a pretty big oversight in ME2.

For one of my Shepards, though, this becomes part of her plan.  Kate realizes that the Reaper threat is more important than her vengeance, so she's willing to work with Cerberus to take them down (enemy of my enemy and all that).  However, she has decided that if she survives dealing with the Reaper threat, she will hunt TIM down and kill him.

She still messes up Cerberus's plans at every opportunity, intentionally or no (she wasn't really trying to screw them over with the Collector base decision... that was just her following her motto of "blow it the hell up and forget about it").  Still, she's trying not to be openly homicidal towards TIM so she doesn't give away her future intentions.  And she couldn't talk about Akuze with them WITHOUT sounding homicidal.

Actually this talk about SS and Cerberus and how some people are annoyed about how it was handled, I suppose one issue for that is that they really would have had to create something for the other backgrounds so that the backgrounds were remaining even still on the 'quest' stuff.

As for why it wasn't, am not sure whether that mission was flagged/imported, so perhaps because that not being that is why not allowed to bring it up (because not everyone might've done it because it was a sidequest). Leading on from this is the fact of how after the mission we get a call from an SB agent offering us money for the data on Cerberus. Due to the responses depending on the decision you took, I always thought that it might lead to getting help from the SB in the future or biting me in the backside later on (due to his warning for not handing it over). To some extent you could say this is another wasted opportunity because, now with Liara as SB, she could find the data that was sent then we could use it to screw over Cerberus. Actually am trying to remember if Hackett or someone said anything about it if we didn't send it the SB.

The thing is as the SS situation currently stands, my way of thinking is that they left it open for us to decide if we were pissed with them or not. You have to remember that it really would've required you to play ME AND do that sidequest or you'd just be left with the basic info about it.

Whilst am doubting hardly any sidequests (if any at all) will get a mention in the PS3 comic, I guess it would be interesting if the Cerberus one does get brought up. Am imagining that in the Comic players will get the chance to set the background profile up so perhaps they will cover the 'background' missions to give players more insight into their past.

With one of my Sheps who is a SS, I've gone with the idea I mentioned earlier on in that Shep initially when he found out about Cerberus involvement in Akuze he was annoyed but after they brought him back to life after the Normandy account he came to the realisation that they have pretty much helped shape his life in making him the person he is. Course he is still a bit too much of an idealist as TIM often points out and they don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, but the way this Shepard sees it, he probably wouldn't be where he was had they not been involved.

Reading that makes me think it would've been nice if you were allowed to formally join up with Cerberus at the end, the same way you had the option to remain a spectre.

Your not alone, there are some more of us that would like that option. I even created a topic for the discussion of such amongst other things relating to Shepard being with Cerberus.
