ME2 had some boss fight's I'd call uninspired but nothing horrible. I didn't like the Thresher Maw and the Final Boss - I don't like "bosses" that are just scenery firing something into the accessible area now and then.
I'd say all of the YMIR fights were probably some of the best ME2 had to offer.

Definitly agree about the Thresher Maw, it was far more exciting taking them on in ME, yes it could still be as easy (if not easier) thanks to Mako but then again if it weren't for the Mako they'd probably kill you every time as they'd no doubt spawn right under you and you just wouldn't have the moving speed of a Mako (which even then could get 1-hit-killed by them if you were unlucky).nutshell43 wrote...
Definitely Benezia. She lifted me off those walkways twice (harder to avoid on insanity because strafing is so much more dangerous) and as the savior of humanity and only hope of the galaxy can't climb up a ladder that meant game over.

Kind of reminded me of the movie 'Tremors' with the whole basis of getting to 'raised' ground that they wouldn't spawn on. I often had fun dashing across a field where I knew they would be, trying to tease them into popping out the ground but doing it so that I was always within close proximity of some raised ground I could get to and use to attack from. Thresher Maw in ME2 whilst a little bit fun to be facing one again and still having the slight challenge of dodging their acid-spit attack just wasn't the same imho.
Never played on Insanity on ME and due to Benezia would never dream of it

@Sir Ulrich: The trick to killing them on foot in ME1 was to find the right distance where they wouldn't retreat back into the ground but couldn't kill you by striking out at you either. Ironically that meant it played a lot like ME2. =)
And I don't think this is more spoilery than half the threads on this forum because it doesn't really tell anything about the story.

The only problem i ever had against Benezia was a glitch that made me unable to move. Very easy fight.
Same here. I went to here early on my first playthrough, though. I swear I lost a year of my life from stress from that, however.
But when it comes to the frozen glitch, that was the bane of my existence. It happened EVERY time I did that fight-- along with some weird thing where my ShepLoo's neck stretched out like a giraffe's.

1. Benezia on Noveria. I'm pretty sure that I was reduced to a murmuring wreck after killing her.
2.The YMIR mech ambush at the end of Garrus' loyalty was pretty nasty.
2. Those YMIR mechs can be easily avoided altogether by simply hitting them with overload, pull, concussive shot, or warp while they're still on the cranes. They fall and explode.

Cool! I didn't know that. Will test it next time I play that mission.CC-Tron wrote...

It works best if you catch them at a distance when they don't have target reticles on them. That means far away, so aim carefully.

The only time I had trouble during Benezia's bossfight was those annoying Geth snipers.
Geth snipers or snipers in genreal in hardcore mode were rough in ME1 when they were in pairs. They usually fired one after another in quick succession. One took out my shields the other took my health, BAM, dead. Snipers, when present, were ALWAYS my priority target when playing ME1.

IN ME2: The Praetorian on the derelict collector ship.

For horrible the final boss in ME2 was horrible in the "really bad" way not so much the "really challenging" way. The toughest in ME2 is the Praetorian on the way off the ship coupled with the husks.

It doesn't do much good against the Collector heavy units but the Arc Projector is your friend against those waves of husks.

As for most difficult, I suppose Krogan Battlemasters in ME1. They could give me fits with their Immunity and extremely nasty melee attack, if I didn't have immunity to tank them, or biotics to send them flying.

Praetorian on both Horizon and the Collector ship. Seriously, am I the ONLY target?

That's what I'm gonna try next time I hit that level
Thanks

It doesn't help that in both fights you've got husks swarming you, forcing you out of cover so it can hit you with the rape beam.

ME2, Honestly the hardest boss on there was the final one...And then not at all challenging.
Including ME2 DLC: LotSB Boss.
Edit: It says "Spoiler warning" So you've been warned already.
