I'm just going to point out I am constantly perplexed by the fact people willingly consume bacon. That is all.

:o

It doesn't even look appetizing for me.

It is a very healthy and nutritious food.
Not sure how you can not like it.

Don't want to insult anyone's preference, but let's just say that one look at it encourages me to avoid food for several minutes.

I am very worried that DA:2 won't have enough bacon. All good rpgs have a good variety of pig products.

That's.. beautiful. I probably shouldn't think it's beautiful, should I?

"What's this?"
"It's a rose."
"Your new weapon of choice?"
"Something like that."

I think the Double Down gets an overly bad rap, it's really tamer than a lot of other fast food out there. That's not to say other fast food sets a particularly high standard, but the Double Down is not some new low. That would be the crap Carl's Jr churns out, most likely. Or Jack in the Box. If you folks have those restaurants where you live.

What I'm doing is calling you out on your logical fallacy. You say I'm wrong. Then I'm suggesting otherwise and you cannot confirm. Do you or do you not? And if you want to throw the unreasonable KFC customers in the mix, let me put it this way: Do you share their lack of common sense or do you not?

I complained about the Double Down when I heard about it. I really love the commercials about it being a 'manly' burger. Apparently 'manly' is a secret code for 'dead at 63 from coronary disease.'

Seriously, how can pot be illegal when they sell crap like this for human consumption?

Why did you complain about it?

Even if people get what they want, they're never happy. People ask for helmet toggles in every single game where one might be forced to wear unattractive headgear, and now that (if this is true) there's a hypothetical helmet toggle going in, apparently that means that the game's development isn't healthy. Mmmhmm, tell me: does this mean that NOT considering implementing helmet toggles would represent the game development being "healthy" then? *snort*

Actually, most of the hate surrounding the Double Down wasn't even accurate. Compared with other fast foods, it's not that bad. A Big Mac has more calories and fat, while the double down has more sodium. I'm not arguing that fast good is good for you, but relatively speaking, the double down is not going to kill you any faster than any other bits of fast food.

I guess if I had to stay on topic, I would say that since none of us here work at Bioware, there's no way to really tell if they're rushing it. We have no idea when develpment started, how many people are working on it, etc.

*Goes off to sleep*

Stanlee Woo has not answered my question. Therefore, by the power invested in me, I shall LOGICALLY conclude that there is absolutely no way this game isn't not never never not not not rushed.

Why not? It looks disgusting, it sounds horrible, and it's part of larger social trends that I see as being harmful to the environment, and to American health and economy.

I see the fast food industry as being little different from the cigarette industry. Worse, they're utterly blatant about marketing to children. More people die now a days from coronary diseases than they do from lung or throat and mouth cancer, yet it's perfectly fine for companies to produce crap like the double down and advertise it during the Superbowl.

This is like saying that being shot in the foot isn't as bad as being shot in the stomach. Perhaps it's true, but I still object to it.

I don't know if someone has already mentioned this, but didn't Bioware already delayed the release date from February 1st to March 8th?

There's supposed to be some sort of announcement in February based on Awakening's packaging but it has been confirmed to not be related to the DA 2 release date.

That's exactly why I asked the question. You acted out of a sense of social awareness and associated concerns. Do you consider this the same thing as giving the counter guy hell, ranting like "this burger is crap" while your food is still being grilled in the kitchen?

People come here with crap like this and leave no room for actual criticism. There's nothing to be advocated in this.

That reminds me, I remember seeing a commercial a while back with a bunch of regular people in a grocery store telling people to object to legislatures taxing(I'm assuming, forgot the specifics) excessive sugarfied/salty/fatty food, soda, and the like.  And I was like, hmmm, I wonder who paid for that commercial?

I do agree though that if you have no problem excessively taxing cigarettes then you shouldnt have an issue with taxing excessively unhealthy, processed food and drinks

It would seem odd - or perhaps business as usual, depending on your perspective - for the government to tax an industry which they already heavily subsidize. Paying for it's production, then taxing its consumption.  Representative democracy in action!

Can one have a problem with both?

What? No. Why would I go to a fast foot restaurant and then complain about the food while they were making it? Why would I even be there if I didn't like the food? That makes no sense. Like some poor lady working for minimum wage needs my BSing.

Yeah, we don't respond well to "rude and unreasonable," but we do like "well-reasoned and courteous," regardless of whether they're agreeing with us or criticizing us. That whole "treat others as you would like to be treated" thing? that "be excellent to each other" claptrap? Yup, we like that.

the problem comes when every single person wants the game to be more of what they like and how they play, forgetting that there are millions of other gamers out there who want the same thing, only they might not play the same as you or like the same things as you. If someone wants toggleable helmets and another doesn't, who do we listen to? that's right, the ones who send us the most pie! :P

Seriously, though, the final say in what goes into the game and what gets left out is ours and ours alone. the risk is ours, the work is ours, and so the decision must ultimately be ours as well. Occasionally, we'll make decisions as a result of some of the feedback we've gotten. That doesn't mean we're not listening to those who liked the game the way it was, however, and in no way are our game features or decisions a competition over who we love the most (as i said before, it's always going to be the people who have the most pie. Or bacon.). maybe in a future product, we'll side with the gamers who have the most chocolate ice cream, or maybe we'll favour the lactose-intolerant gamers out there. We just won't know until we get to that point, so until then, let's please remember that we're all here to enjoy BioWare's games and have fun, and be excellent to each other. :)

All I saw was 'pie', 'bacon' and 'chocolate ice cream'. I am now very peckish. I hate you.

I think its a bit more complicated than that, isnt it?  I mean, they are subsidizing farmers(big time corporate and small), not food companies.  Of course, i guess a food company could be invested into farming as well and receive that subsidy, but I dont know any specifics on that.

Anyways, I am not in favor of subsidizing food/farm production as well

Can one have a problem with both?

Of course

Yes, why would one do that? Truly a mystery for the ages.

Anyway, that was the gist of the previous KFC spiel. Just wanted to clear that up.

Well, yeah, but this is the Bioware Social Network and the thread is "Are Bioware having to rush this?"  :)
