That's quite a leap to make.

But, that being said, I do believe that initially the Couslands ended up accepting the occupation like most nobles and switched sides when Maric started winning. So in that sense, I don't think they are dissimilar from the Howes. But I disagree that the Couslands were allied with the Orlesians, but the Howes weren't. I think both ended up switching sides, and the Couslands did before the Howes, unless it's clearly contradicted.

As for TST, we both know it was extremely shallow politically and militarily, so I wouldn't expect it to mention the Couslands. It was too busy annoying us with Maric's love life.

In Awakening Nathaniel mentions that Rendon's father was Padrick Howe who went of to try and become a Grey Warden not Tarleton.

So, yes the Codex is wrong, and the Howe's DID switch to support the rebellion before the Couslands ( that much is very clear ). Unless you are saying they switched back to support Orlais? That would be a rather a big leap.

Did TST mention something about the Howes that I forgot? I kind of remember Amaranthine mentionned somewhere.

But the whole Howe family thing is screwed up and I think it's the writers at fault here. Why would a codex lie about who Rendon's father is? Why would the writers put an innacurate codex?  It's more likely that they didn't think properly.

The Arl Howe in the book sheltered the rebel army for months in his arling then once they were about to leave he joined up with them and was eventually killed in a battle.

So yes Knight, the Howe's did support the rebellion far earlier then the Couslands.

Ok, I have half a mind to wipe TST from canon. It ends up contradicting many things in the game.
Yea, I know history is written by the winners, but that's pushing it, if the writers are expecting me to believe that they can't even get the Arl of Amaranthine's name right.

Whether you like it or not, the book is cannon. Yes there is bad writing in it and in the game "Shrug" doesn't mean you can ignore it.

But if you refer to the Legion then do bear in my mind that just because Kardol had an opinion then it doesn't mean the Legion Commander in TST has to have the same.

I stopped caring tbh. Probably why my activity here has lessened.

I stopped caring about DA:O a long time ago ( which is why my fiction hasn't been updated ). Mostly come here to check on the Loghain thread nowadays.

It's dead and done anyway.

We should totally design a game, us two. Make idealists shake in terror and cry in desperation.

Such a game would only involve one good ending for pragmatists and very ****ty endings for idealists.

But I really would recommend playing the Witcher.

I might, but right now I have a craving for strategy games. So we'll see.

If you can come up with a game design that'll work in Facebook or iPhone, I can pimp it for you. My other half has a small games company.
