In fact, does hair grow much after death, since Jack is one of the characters that die rather easily during the SM (since the "keep her loyalty" check after the catfight is so much harder than the one for the Tali/Legion conflict)....hence she will be dead in a lot of gamesaves ... and I guess the developers will probably relegate her to NPC status for ME-3, even if she survived in a particular playthrough.
Same as with Wrex - meet her, chat her up, get kicked in one's crown jewels for it - but no deeper interaction or missions.

If it doesn't matter, then what would stop Bioware? Nothing.

I'd support a short goth-girl style haircut. I'd also support a casual outfit that shows off her leg tattoos, and a practical combat suit with a helmet for environmental hazards.

Jack looks fine the way she is. In addition, this'd mean that the developers would spend time developing her that they could use on someone else, like YHAAR Turian, Refund Buttmonkey, or Morinth.

Uh. No. Really. No...

Just so we're clear? NO.

Jack's already gone through a whole round of concepts where she did have hair, and it was the art director's decision to make her a skinhead. They're not gonna change any time soon.

This.

And I'd just like to add: NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.

I suppose the crew-cut does grow on you. Would still prefer those clothing options I mentioned, but that's another topic.

I hate to seem picky but her Baldness is the only reason I didn't romance her...

Someone say Jack with hair? I'd support that.

Now I might consider it...

Nah, she's cool as she is. She'd look cooler with a tank top and/or a leather jacket, though.

Bioware does not strike me as a company spending time on redesigning (and giving Jack a haircut is not "done" with some texture mods  ) deceased or relegated to NPC-furniture status characters. Not an effcient use of resoucrces, and with Jack not being the most popular of characters in the first place.

Since so much about Jack's appearance is a reflexion of what she perceives herself to be, any change in outward appearance would have to reflect some personality change brought about by character evolution.

Personally, I like her just fine the way she is: ink and shave and all... but I'm not opposed to a change if it's reflected in the character's demeanor and world view.

This.

Jack's character is pretty deep, and I don't believe it's based around or revolves around tattoos or baldness.

Surprised so many people think hair would ruin her character. I think a short haired punk style would fit her personality perfectly. One that allows her head-tat to been seen would be a nice bonus. I'd sort of feel if she looked the same in ME3 that it would indicate something of a lack of effort for her character. After all Tali and Garrus got new looks for ME2. Tali more so, to look more mature. I'd like to see a physical change in Jack of some kind even if not hair, but some nice short hair would be the most appealing way for my tastes.

Anyway, interesting opinions, mostly. I'll like her either way of course as long as she doesn't turn in a Miranda :pinched:

Pretty much the last two posts reflect what I've been trying to convey the entire time. Character evolution - the inward affects the outward and it can be done optional and under specific conditions (becoming good friend with her or romancing her).

Heck, why not put a barber DLC somewhere on the Citadell and let Shep and crew try new hairstyles for a few credits?

Still, this doesn't change the fact that Ugly Shepard, me and Jack looks great bald.

Hell, let's just cover up her tattoos and have her wear pretty, pretty dresses during Mass Effect as well. Might as well make her stop swearing too. Then we can have shots focusing uncomfortably on her ass as well!

Nah, the bum shots are owned exclusively by Miranda. Any one else notice that? I'm glad they poke fun at it in the dialogue.

Jack having hair is not the issue. Jack growing hair of her own volition doesn't suddenly mean that her character is ruined. I'll expand on that in a bit.

It's why some people think she needs to have hair. "Because it'd make her physically attractive and slightly more appealing." Same reason why some people think Jack looks better with some clothes on.

The issue here is that Jack as a character does not want to appeal to people. She wants them to go away because she doesn't want to get involved with anyone. That's what the developers are trying to convey with her appearance. Giving Jack anything beyond a crewcut would contradict her efforts to do just that. Because her behaviour tends to manifest itself physically.

Like I said before, they've already gone through the Jack having hair phase in her concept art. It didn't work for her character. Nuff said.

Personally I don't care if Jack does grow out of her crewcut by a millimeter, but I'd rather the developers not be cajoled into giving her hair just because of a clash in individual aesthetics.

The only way that I'd be willing to accept Jack growing her hair out would be if she was shep's LI and she was "letting go" of her past. Pretty barfy, but plausible.

Jack comes across as a hands on fighter and overall killer. Having hair would be a tactical disadvantage. And if she grew hair just to serve shallow interests, that would be beneath Bioware's story telling and character developing.

If you want hair on her, mod it.
