Yes, bravo to the BioWare devs for being responsive. You just don't see this kind of interaction on most other game forums.

I like to think that we're just a tiny bit crazier and masochistic than other game developers, or else every developer would be doing this. :)

Yeah I got to say if I was a game developer I couldn't handle all the sheer insanity of game forums, and you guys have one of the more reasonable group of posters compared to other developers.

We'll likely start talking to ourselves. With people like Sheryl, Mary, and Priestly around, who needs other people? :P

You can also chat with your characters, like those dialogues posted for DA:O.

Sten: This does not bode well for your sanity.
Mary: Oh, Sten.  What are you possibly insinuating?

:o  You guys are awesome.  We'll try not to drive you to utter insanity, but if we do, I suppose you could always go insane in a spectacular fashion.

Sometimes, I'm astounded by my own laziness.

Why, on Saturday, I only came in for seven hours instead of ten! And I took a Friday off back in mid November to move.

It's difficult to live with myself.

Oops. I think I hit the 'snark' button by accident.

Please, please, PLEASE take careof yourselves.  Please try to eat something other than pizza and get more then 5 hours of sleep a night.  I'm know thing are only going to get worse with crunch time after the New Year, but health and sanity are GOOD things. Honest.
Sorry for sounding momish, but my husband did QA for another company for a few years.  I didn't see him for days at a time, they often worked on 4-5 hours of sleep, and if I hadn't brought the test pit some take out and icecream, they'd have been on pizza 24/7 (my husband still can't eat pizza). So take care of yourselves!

No, the industry and our company has come a long way from the old days where one of the teams ate nothing but KFC for a month. Now our meals during crunch time are a bit more substantial and arguably healthy. it's still not an ideal situation, but the company and our project leads do try to take care of us during this period of increased insanity. My girlfriend still sees me a couple of times a week, and I still get to hang out with friends for an hour or two, some days.

And someone else got on the KFC diet most likely. ^_^

Aren't you guys in Edmonton? All that cold and snow? Can't blame you for wanting to spend time on the forums where it's warm ^^ Especially if you're getting snow squalls like we are here in Ontario....But seriously you guys are awesome :)

KFC in Edmonton? Hmm, shouldn't they be frying seals or whales? I could go for a bucket of spicy whale wings right about now.

if only those answers weren't a polite way to say "deal with it or GTFO"...

hehe yeah...

but it´s true.. Bioware is in fact very communicative with their fans/customers. It´s not always the answer we want, but we mostly get one.

Precisely. Lots of people come here wanting specific answers, then when they don't get them, accuse us of lying or not communicating or being lazy or whatever. Like i always say, if you can accept both a yes or no answer, it's a request. If you can't accept an answer you disagree with, it's a demand. ;)

Yes, our games are now going to be enjoyed by millions upon millions of potential players rather than just going to please the small number of players who identify as "hardcore RPG." Terrible thing, this wanting to make money and open up our games to a wider audience. Simply terrible. :P Videogame elitism is a shameful thing. We should be sharing our interests and preferences, not denouncing others who happen to like different features or games or genres.

It remains to be seen how many units the new DA2 will sell and how much of a wider appeal it'll have (though I hope it sells a billion).

VG Chartz, that for some reason is missing PC data indicates that as of now: Mass Effect 2 has sold 2.25 copies on XBOX and PS3 total worldwide, and DA:O (which came out just a couple of months before ME2) sold 2.91 on both systems - http://www.vgchartz....name=dragon age - seems like quite a popular game to me :)

Lol, I can just imagine the chaos at DA central if that should happen.  Servers would crash, shelves would be bare, the phones would be ringing off the hook, it'd be like the Apocalypse only, you know, cooler.

If DA2 sells a billion copies, I'm buying myself a pony. Made out of gold. With rockets. That shoots lasers out of its eyes.

To answer the question you posed in the other thread, Mr. Epler, yes. Though whether or not the world can grasp the value of such contributions is a different matter entirely.;)

If it sells a billion you could prolly fill a stable of solid gold rocket boosted laser shooting ponies... and maybe let me borrow one on the weekend.

That chart is inaccurate. It doesn't show PC sales.

If DA2 sold a billion copies at $60 US their gross would be greater than the nominal GDP of Ecuador.

Yet they'd still be below World of Warcraft monthly income.

Right, let's help Bioware buy Ecuador!
