Aside from what can be proven when it comes to the union, I believe for Shepard and Liara it is something that cannot be broken, or taken away. It is a bond of life, for life, of such signifigance that it's "foot print" will remain eternal regardless of what happens to them in the present and future.

@LesEnfantsTerribles

Oh my gawd! *clink glasses - Here's to hoping.

I wonder if asari can have twins?

I'd imagine that identical twins might be a possibility, whereas fraternal twins would not.

Of course, I'm assuming that asari pregnancy is similar to that of a human woman, which may not be the case.

Yeah, I think bonding with another like this and creating a new consciousness with them would be something that would leave it's mark on your own individual consciousness for life....especially if it's a deeper bond where emotions are shared (unlike the pure-knowledge meld that Shepard/Liara or Shepard/Shiala share).

*clinks glasses* I'll drink to that!

I agree with your post, by the way. In ME1, Liara does mention that a part of an asari's partner will live on in her beyond his or her death, which gives me the impression that both Liara and Shepard are already carrying elements of each other in their bodies or minds. It's a truly deep and spiritual aspect of their romance, and showcases the deep trust and love that exists in their relationship.

I love coming back to this thread after work and seeing all of the pictures and conversations that took place while I was gone...hahaha, that picture was way too cute.

I know I'm coming in a bit late, but, shoot - I really hope Bioware delivers on the consequences of your romance choices. The wiki suggests that ME3 will have feature the far reaching consequences of your actions, whereas ME2 could not. Furthermore, it mentioned that remaining to your LI/cheating would result in ramifications.

So, I'm thinking that faithful!Shep gets bondmate ceremony and lil blue children...

...and cheatingdouchebag!Shep gets pushed out an airlock.

Cheers?

One thing I do like about the genesis comic, is that it has Shepard telling his crew to have hope, but Liara visits him because she sees past his words, and wants to comfort him. Especially about Kaidan's death. It's something I thought was missing in the game.

Though the "We gave into each other... and it was perfect" sounds very cheesy. lol

There's little to like about Liara's depiction in Genesis, but I actually agree. The fact that Liara is able to see beyond Shepard's defiant facade, and recognises the anxiety and fear at Shepard's core, is something that is definitely in-character for her.

Woah, woah woah. Am I missing something? I thought the comic wasn't coming out until the 18th! Xbox and PC users will get it too! So, I'm just curious...how do so many people already know what's in it?

Baaah, thank you! I've been trying to find it all day. Right under my nose, yeesh.

@TMA LIVE - Thanks for replying, though!

So, wow, I think Liara strikes one pose through the entire comic: swooning. Wow. Alright then.

Although, does anyone know if there's a Jennifer Hale version? Or is there only one comic book voiced by Mark Meer? Because that would be dumb as f***.

Woops.

Genesis....  If I had never played ME before and Genesis was all I had to go on to be "caught up" for ME2, at the end I would have been like "What? WHAT?!?!"  Mass Effect on PS3 = Robbed.
I have to agree with TMA LIVE and LesEnfantsTerribles that there's little to like about Liara's depiction aside from her seeing past Shepard's words.  I'm getting the worried feeling about ME3 now.   :?

Hale does it for femshep, though I don't think that'll fix bad writing.

Hahaha, yeah, the writing wasn't that great...I was just saying, it would further rob PS3 gamers to exclude Hale (IMO). Thanks for the heads up, jlb and TMA.

I just read a thread where some kid said femshep was an 'extra'. So. I was just making sure those were still fighting words, haha.

Ya know, just a lil fierce campaigning for femshep/liara...even in some of the sadder mediums.

Objectification? What do you mean?

I think I caught it too - she didn't seem like the awkward, intelligent scientist we all love in any of the pictures - she looked a lil more 'boy crazy', what with all of those swooning/daydreamer scenes of her. You know, where she has her hands up by her face, seemingly romanticizing about something? I mean, that's not necessarily 'bad' or 'objectification', but it's certainly not Liara.

I'm not sure if that's what LET meant, but that's what I saw...

Oh that. Yeah, I get what you mean with the "girl with a crush" look. But I thought it did a alright job setting up the romance in the comic, compared to Ash. At least PS3 players get "something" as to why Shepard is pursuing a romance with her. Unlike Ash, who seems like a random option out of nowhere, with no setup.
