I think the lab coat is okay as long as she doesn't wear it to fight rachni on Noveria...then she'd be vulnerable.
Definitately. I hate that about the comic. She should be in armor.
But anyways, I still think she should have a more unique costume. Maybe something like the labcoat, but it's a redesign.
Actually, it would be nice to see an asari version of a labcoat, unless it's overly sexy. I'd like to see more unique designs from other races.

I wouldn't hold my breath...it seems like there's one galactic style that all speices wear...including lab coats.
Even Liara's LotSB dress is similar in style to those worn by others around the galaxy.

Hey wow, you guys finally managed to get the other thread locked. Congrats I guess? ......
Indeed, and it would be appreciated if you were to continue to avoid posting in this thread. Thanks.
Anyway, I never got the impression that Liara's ME1 labcoat was intended to make her seem young or vulnerable. On the contrary, I think it's testament to her intelligence and academic ability, and I feel that her attire reflects this quite well.
Dr. Chakwas' clothing is virtually identical, and I've never heard anyone assert that she is young or vulnerable.

And there's a difference between seems vulnerable, and is vulnerable. And vulnerable she isn't.

Guys, she seems vulnerable. I know you want to talk her as strong and intelligent 24/7, but she does seem vulnerable in ME1. If she wasn't, ME2 and LOTSB wouldn't have to make a point about her being strong and independent. Again, I said she seems vulnerable, because she's young, and in a tight, thin jumpsuit. Dr. Chakwas' doesn't get the same response, because she has a older face and long grey hair to counter that.
There are definately times when Liara is vulnerable in ME1 and ME2. But i don't base this (even loosely) off of what she's wearing, I just can't. There's nothing about anything she wears that says "vulnerable" to me. What about a "tight, thin jumpsuit" as you say, says vulnerable to you? I'm just having a hard time understanding where you're coming from on this.

That's subjective, though.

Liara wears her labcoat to study. I'm not even sure how this makes her 'seem' vulnerable.

There's more to it, but it's part of it.
How about this. From a glance, what would seem vulnerable to you? What would make you think that from just a glance?

Perhaps she was a bit emotionally vulnerable after Benezia's death, but that's debatable.
I just don't see, 'hanging out in a labcoat doing science' as vulnerable in anyway.

Well, Liara was physically vulnerable when she was hanging in that Prothean bubble.

Well, how about because she looks cute in it?

Like I said, 'vulnerable' is wearing a lab coat to fight rachni....stick Kaidan in one and send him off to fight them would make him vulnerable too.

Yes if Liara were to wear her labcoat for a fight she would be vulnerable physically.
@TMA If i'm not mistaken, you're talking about her seeming vulnerable emotionally. So to answer your question, what would seem vulnerable to me at a distance...
Physically - If she were in a battle wearing her labcoat.
Emotionally - If she were crying, drunk, or undergoing any kind of mental stress.

Well, she is vulnerable emotionally, though she prefers to handle it on her own. Physically, it shows off her figure pretty well, as well as making her look cute. Her voice also seems sad, and concern, and young. Her body language seems abit cautious, and a shy. Etc. The suit is just one thing.

No. Now it seems you are making her out to be a cutesy little child.

I'd settle for seeing the female counterparts of the other races...or, actually, children, it seems they aren't present in most games I play...unless they are evil or something. Even Half-Life took them out. You can't shoot npcs in ME so I'm not sure why they wouldn't include them in any way. Maybe too much effort or something.

Not a child. But you don't think she looks young, even though her face is based off a 22 year old? (or 21, if I'm doing the math wrong).
