dunno guys...the bridging DLC could be like the DLCs of Dragon Age Origins.
A seperate Campaign where you upload your save.

So, if you dont upload a save with LOTSB played, they can just say Liara managed to became Shadow Broker on her own, like they will probably do in ME3.

However that is me specualting :) The chance that they hire Ali Hillis just for a few lines is quite slim anyway.

There also is the slim chance that it may be one hell of a big DLC, where all voice actors return with lots of missions new planets and stuff.

Throughout ME2 maingame there are a few lines that in my mind makes refernces to Shepard's relationship/feelings with/for Liara.

The first being where Shepard says to Grunt that his not planning on fighting the rest of his days, for me I always took it as Shepard thinking of his plan of living "happily ever after" with someone, reason I someone is because it takes place after Illium.

The other is the conversation with Thane where he mentioned he hunted down and tortured his wifes killers. I pick the "I would do the same" dialog option, because if Liara did get killed in ME3, I would be rather tempted to pick the renegade interrupt that would pop up once you cath up to the ones who killed her.

*Mass Effect retribution spoiler*

In Mass Effect retribution novel that takes place after ME2 Cerberus is attacked by Captain Andersson teaming up with the Turian military. Most, if not all cerberus bases are attacked simoultaneously, TIM escapes with his life and Cerberus is left severely crippled.

*End of Spoiler*

This, in my humble opinion means we will not be dealing with Cerberus whatsoever in ME3, regardless of whether you destroyed or kept the base. No, I think either the intel will come from Liara (would be awesome to hear Liara's voice before and after every missionPosted Image) or the Alliance (if my hunch about Shepard rejoining the Alliance is correct -probably not but still)

because if Liara did get killed in ME3, I would be rather tempted to pick the renegade interrupt that would pop up once you cath up to the ones who killed her

Rather Tempted to pick a renegade interrupt? Interesting. My Shepard would just explode with anger if something happened to Liara, and spend the remainder of his days hunting down her killers (provided she wasn't killed by a reaper) -- But let's not talk about this. Thinking about Liara's possible death is bad enough already..

It's possible (and likely) that the next bridging DLC will occur before Retribution, though.  I expect the next DLC will begin the same as all the others (i.e., message from Cerberus).  No more Liara until ME3.

Edit:  NVM you meant ME3.

Geeeeeze, thank you. I remember talking with Jacob after the Collector Base and he mentioned that Cerberus was now 'on my tail'. I thought, 'Wow. While I'm trying to take out the greatest threat to the galaxy ever, I have to deal with some poor sap who can't get over himself. Terrific.'

Whew, glad to hear the comic book took care of that!

I like to imagine that it would be reasonably easy for Shepard to receive a mere text email from Liara regarding the next story-bridging DLC, if LotSB had been completed beforehand.

If the DLC has not been completed or downloaded, then Shepard would receive the information from Cerberus as per usual. It's unlikely, but it would be a nice touch.

Glad I could help.

@Jlb524

It's indeed very likely the next bridging DLC will occur before retribution. But somehow I doubt Cerberus will be sending you a message if you destroyed the base. I'm actually hoping from an alliance message. The information terminal at the Shadow Broker's base was very clear about Hackett still having faith in Shepard. I'd like to see a message from Hackett. Anyways, not intending to turn this Liara discussion thread into a 'What's the next dlc thread' so I'm leaving it at that.

I have faith in BioWare though. They will deliver to their loyal (and less loyal) fans.

They might upgrade the SB base in the next DLC. I wouldn't count on it, but it could happen. That way there is a possibility that we could get a line or two out of her if we went there. Not holding my breath, but I could see it happening.

I'd love the chance to kiss her whenever you visit but I know that's asking for a lot.  A girl can dream.

I've also considered this, and think it would be quite interesting to see Liara gradually personalise her new office. There's already a decorative plant to the right of her work terminal, and I'm eager to see if she continues to customise her base.

That painting of Ilos, in addition to the various Prothean artifacts she owns, would look great in her office. ^_^

Like the way you could always engage in a small dialogue and a kiss with your LI in DAO?

Warden:"Let's go to bed"
Leliana:"I thought you'd never ask"
*kiss*

That would be...whoa...awesome

And have her ask Shepard where to put all that stuff

Liara:"Shepard, where do you think I should put this painting"
Shepard:'on the far wall there'
Liara:'that looks nice. And what about this'
Shepard:'My old armor?'
Liara:"It was all I had left of you...at the time"
Shepard:"Do you still want to keep it?'
Liara: "It's important to think about the time I have left with you'
Shepard:"'Is this the life span talk? I'm not having the life span talk"

Sorry about that last one. I'm getting slightly tired I guess

I just hope she fixed a certain design flaw in the ceiling, that thing's pretty useful, but it needs to be less easy to break and kill the user.

I totally didn't even notice the plant!  Gotta remember to check it out next time through...

And I really liked Liara's apartment, I kinda want her to keep it.  Tastefully decorated, great view, aquarium above the bed.  Just gotta remove those annoying bullet holes...

Actually, if Cerberus becomes irrelevant, I will be a very unhappy Sentinel. Plus, remember, Shepard "destroyed their big organization" in 1 according to Toombs. TIM is nothing if not resourceful. What I want is for max-Renegades to be able to rebuild Cerberus using the base-tech and their collective genius...and for Paragons (like me, hint hint) to be able to hunt TIM down and deliver hot, righteous justice that leaves him no more than scattered leptons.

Ahem. Anyway. After reading more thread, I suppose I could deal with Liara being mission control if I could talk to her any time I wanted, a la Joker and EDI in 2 (only with a lot more dialogue options), and she's relevant from start to finish. And, you know, lots of little blue children and going back to exploration in the epilogue. Posted Image

You should be able to go to the hotel Azure with Liara and have some hilarious dialogue at that.

in the dlc lotsb when you head inside the hotel there was a chat between the meaning of the hotel Azure.

Made me have the giggles :D

Argh, if only the graphics engine were a little more powerful, and the degree certificate of a higher resolution.

We'd be able to read it in full!

Mines is more like what Shepard tells Jacob right here.

I hate that Jacob is the only person Shepard can tell that too. Apart of me want to just start his romance just for that line, and then tell him to just be friends after talking to him. Maybe play it as a moment of weakness, until Shepard realizes what she needs to do, tells Jacob to just be a friend, and waits for Liara. Maybe after the illium scene, Shepard is so down that she wants anything to fill the gap, but stops herself before it's too late. I don't know.

Thanks for posting that link, I'd never have looked for it (knowing how Jacob's romance turns out) but it's helpful with regard to Shepard's emotions.

Intelligence is an incredibly attractive and sexy personality trait, and Liara's intellect happens to be vast. It is one of many aspects of her character that I absolutely adore!

It would actually make more sense if Adm. Hackett sent details of a VS survivor DLC. Not Liara, not Cerberus.
