I'm kind of hoping we see fresh situations/dialogue between Shepard and Liara. Honestly, despite the magnitude of the situation, I hope Liara has finally been able to forgive herself. Shepard has tenderly reaffirmed her (well, if you're a Paragon), so I kind of hope she finds strength in that. Of course, that was a crucial/major decision on her part, so I understand how far reaching it can be.
Yeah, I agree. I don't want the entirety of Shepard and Liara's interaction in ME3 to be about the Reapers, though I know that may comprise most of it given Liara's potential importance to the main plot. It was touched upon earlier that the issue with Liara handing Shepard's body to Cerberus could sneak up again if Shepard has been implanted with Reaper tech. Liara might feel guilty and Shepard would have the option of consoling her or getting angry (potentially ending the romantic relationship).

I just hope we see them live more in the present, looking forward, than regretting the past...
Not that I wouldn't be for some tender forgiveness moments between Shep/Liara.
I definitely would like to see some 'live in the present' moments too
But if they do want to add some 'angst' I prefer they go this route over making Liara turn evil or become indoctrinated or that stuff.

To change subjects, I'm unfamiliar with games that use DLC. Is there any chance that ME3 will assume that LotSB didn't happen? Or is it safe to assume that it'll be considered canon?

I'm sure the events of LotSB will be canon even if someone didn't play it. This is why there are no major choices that can be made regarding the plot (Liara is always the Shadow Broker, the old Shadow Broker always dies, Feron always survives).

Speaking of lotsb i really want to play it, but i heard you get new dialogue if you wait to play it after you beaten me2. Is this true?
Just do what I (am about to) do. Make a save right before you go after the Reaper IFF, then do LotSB. Afterwards you can reload your old save and finish the game, then do LotSB again. (I mean why not? It's the best DLC by far!)

it's different.
most people prefer to play it after the SM. i suggest you do the same for the first time and then play it before. then decide what's best for you.
there was some discussion regarding the differences a while back, but that's spoilerific stuff

There's some differences, but it's mostly because of bugs. I don't want to go into the details, since it might start a vs war, which I'd rather avoid.
Without opening the can of worms, I'd think there'd be a simple way to fix that (find the audio file of her silently crying and overwrite it with the one of her audibly crying)?

Yup... I was like a lovesick puppy when I first played it. Stopping by after EVERY mission just to say 'hi'...

It's okay as long as we all like liara here, than I don't care how you make your romance
I was just pondering about if I was the only dude that actually uses a dude shep.
Never have used a femshep, is there anything different in dialogue?
Same dialogue, but Hale's voice acting will make you think you've never heard it before.

I mean, maleshep, to me, is pretty monotone. FemShep, however, has always seemed far more emotional and 'in the moment'. I've rarely, if ever, heard her sound 'boring'. I'm not 'super loyal' or anything, I just know a good thing when I hear it.

Given the importance of the SB and the recent events of ME: Evolution, how major of a role do you think Liara will play in ME3? Will we see her often? I mean, the Illusive Man wasn't a team member, but we still heard from him on a regular basis. Thoughts?

I've heard her a few times, it just sounds like a female version of msheps voice to me maybe I am not listening carefully, anyways lets just change the subject.
You can check out my vid here. She's pretty emotive, IMO.

Most believe she will take over as the 'quest giver' from TIM in ME3. Also, it's believed you will be able to have conversations with her just as any squad mate, even if she's not on the Normandy and isn't a squad mate.
Most also believe Liara will eventually join up with Shepard as a squad mate, though possibly a bit later in ME3.
Some think Liara will rescue Shepard from imprisonment at the beginning of ME3 and will be a squad mate from there.
I personally think we will see Liara often, even if she isn't in the squad. She has plot armor. She's a popular character. They completely redesigned her character model for LotSB so I'm sure they will want to get some more use out of it in ME3.

I actually don't think she will be the quest-giver for the entire game; I think that, at some point, say halfway through, things will change and Liara will have to change things as well. She could, for example, join the team, or simply become part of the Normandy as crew or something.TheMarshal wrote...
Well, I'm sure we all know how big of a role that we hope she'll play. If she's the main quest-giver, I'm hoping for at least as much interaction as TIM in ME2 (preferably more, since she's supposed to be someone we at least like). And they had better throw in more than a little interaction for those of us who remained faithful to her throughout ME2...
Also, part of me hunches that Liara's plot armor will not continue through ME3 as it did ME1 and ME2. Of course not a mandatory death, but something might happen to Liara, leaving her ultimate fate in Shepard's hands. I have no idea why but I do see this happening.
