Very cute, Milla!

And I hope that it doesn't come down to a choice whether to save to galaxy or save Liara. 'Cause we can always rebuild the galaxy...

You can check out my vid here.  She's pretty emotive, IMO.

Thanks (though I can't take credit for it...it's not a cool tex mod or anything).  Liara loves it too :D

Here's to hoping for a 'Liara meets Aethyta family reunion' assignment thoughPosted Image

We already had a discussion about this so I want to repeat this.

I just hope that when Shepard first meets Aethyta in ME3, it's because Aethyta is tracking down Shepard due to him being the last person Liara was with before dissapearing from the galaxy. So she tracks Shepard down in order to get information and perhaps revenge!

Imagine Shepard being pinned up against the wall by Aethyta's biotics, ready to snap his neck at any moment. Aethyta is furios and demands to know what happend with Liara. Then before Shepard can answer, Liara walks in.

Oh the drama! ^_^

I imagined it.  ;)

"We have a bar." "I'll think about it."

Her plot armor in ME1 and ME2 is actually the sole reason I'm expecting something to happen to her in ME3.

At any rate, here is a question: If Shepard goes back to working for the Alliance, what will that mean for Liara as the Shadow Broker? Like, will Shepard still be able to consult her word with no restrictions from the Alliance?

Just a theory, but since life everywhere is at stake, i'm guessing all bets are off.  Or at least I would think so, but it's Mass Effect.  Somebody somewhere will probably still want Shepard to "follow the rules" regardless of how ridiculous they may seem under the circumstances.

Excellent question.

We know that Anderson advised Shepard to consult a Shadow Broker Agent (Barla Von) in ME1 in order to help track down Saren.  They don't seem opposed to using the Shadow Broker as a resource.

I was thinking they may feel uncomfortable with the amount of aid Shepard is getting from Liara, but that's probably better than Shepard getting aid from Cerberus.

Actually, now that I think about it: Is the Alliance even supposed to know of what happened in LOTSB? You know, tracking down the real Shadow Broker, killing him, and giving Liara his chair as the new Shadow Broker.

If Shepard tells the Alliance that the Shadow Broker is that Prothean expert named Liara T'Soni, expect a long string of questions from them. On the other hand, if Shepard doesn't tell them or they don't figure it out themselves, then yes, it's basically like you said. Or so I would imagine.

I don't know if they are supposed to know, but it seems like they don't know as of yet.  I'm not sure if Shepard will divulge this info in ME3 or not?  If not, it would be business as usual.  Also, I guess it depends if Shepard is even working with the Alliance and is limited by their regs....Shep might be free to do whatever and can withold that information from the Alliance.

Oh man. I'll do a lot more than cry.

When Sirius, from Harry Potter, died, I threw the book across the room. Of course, I was an angsty little teenager at the time, but....Liara is a 10x more important that him.

So, who knoooooows what will happen. :?

Heh, my wife is re-reading the books (on audiotape) and just finished the 5th one.  She also got very upset at Sirius' death.

Recall that Shepard killed a Spectre on duty -- Tela Vasir. Vasir was in the EXACT social position as Shepard by the time she died; that is to say, she was a Council Spectre working for the Shadow Broker, which fits just right with Shepard as a Council Spectre working for Cerberus. The only difference is the Council wasn't aware of Vasir being an undercover Shadow Broker agent (at least, that's what she seemed to imply from what little she told us).

Point being, Shepard killed a Spectre in cold blood. A Specture on duty. The Council WILL question that, which itself may lead to the conclusion regarding the Shadow Broker's true identity.

Sorry that made me laugh but I'd probably do the same but it would be me throwing my controller across the room.  X D

The Council will question it for sure.  I don't think it likely that it will lead to a conclusion regarding the Shadow Broker's 'new' identity though, if the Council was unaware of exactly what Tela was up to on Illium.  I think this is the case.

Shepard can be honest, of course, or fabricate a story.

I can't imagine how many possibilities could happen as a consequence of LOTSB. Literally dozens of them.

 Something important to remember:

Prior to Shepard's infiltration of the SB base, no one knew where the base was. Plus, no one knew anything about the SB himself. These facts lend directly to why Liara was able to come into power. And, if the SB was a threat and the Council/Alliance was actually capable of doing something about it, he wouldn't have been in power for as long as he was.

Of course, Cerberus had data on him, but geeze - they're a black hole of information. The Alliance pales in comparison.

All of this is to say: I don't think Shepard's going to tell anyone anything about the SB or her involvement.

And seriously, with the Reaper's coming to smite the universe, who is going to complain about a little information dealing? If giant bug monsters were crashing big ben, I would care less about a little gossip.
