!?!?!   I'd never heard that before.  Certainly would have been an interesting story to tell.

Yup. Rumour states that, originally, the player would have taken control of Legion during ME2's prologue, shortly after the destruction of the Normandy. During the course of the mission, Liara would have been encountered, and the pair of them would have teamed up in order to steal Shepard's body from the Shadow Broker. The player would have been reminded of their ME1 choices via dialogue with Liara, which would have been likely to reference the romance in some form. Furthermore, it would have also explained how Legion grafted a piece of Shepard's old N7 armour onto its torso.

After Liara's recovery of Shepard's body, the game would have then timelapsed to Shepard's awakening at the Lazarus Station, and continued on in its current form.

!!!

That would have been AWESOME. Posted Image They should've stuck with that...

That fan art really captures on how I believe everyone should act like especially Liara seeing how my conon-shep is in love with her, she seems like the only one to really be crying though. I think Garrus has a soft spot for Shepard. It looks like the fan art would be shown in my me2 game, everything i did in that game are there as well. poor Ashley, i had to pick someone and i really disliked her at the time...
Who else let Wrex live? i didn't really like him but he's okay.

There's...someone who killed Wrex...on purpose? Really? I mean, sure, first playthrough, you could trip up...

</off topic>Yeah, I figure Liara's behavior makes a lot more sense if she and Shepard are together when he "mostly dies." Still not happy about pre-LotSB 2, especially since she knows Cerberus is working on Shepard, but knowing just how much deep, abiding guilt she's carrying about it, well...lets just say I've never missed a Paragon interrupt in LotSB in my canon-Shep game. I just think Liara would have at least tried to reason with the batarian before throwing him against the wall.

But he might have grabbed her but or more, and he was drunk.

I've spent the last few hours working on something, and I'd like to share it in this thread.

I agree. I do think that a Liara that was written more in-character would attempt to reason with the batarian, and maybe even threaten him before resorting to violence at all.

I think she would have handled it in a similar fashion to how Paragon Shepard deals with the group of batarians that confront her in the entrance to Afterlife. She would have demanded that he leave her alone, threatened him, and then, as a last resort, defended herself with her biotics.

"you see my gun, do you really want to do this?"

I love that dialogue from shepard but doesn't sound like a paragon thing to say. imo

Nah, after all she's been through that whole time, from alomst getting raped, to being attacked by the Blue Suns, being lied to by Feron, and then taken back to where she started. And then just grabbed by some drunk trying to have sex with her? She's at her snapping point. Especially since Shepard's corpse needs saving, and she's running out of time.

And NinjaLiara is every bit as awesome as I thought she'd be ... again, I demand she make an appearance in ME3! With sneak-attack ninja-kisses!

That's nice work, TMA.

So, due to a bad disc that ruined my current playthrough, I'm having to start a new imported game.

I'd just like to say that I cannot bear to watch the beginning anymore. I have to mute the tv.

The Liara/Shep moments...agonizing x 10000000.

That was...really touching Les! I was, as usual, choking on emotions when I read that. I loved it.

You really should write and more importantly post what you write more often. :D

You mean the Normandy's destruction?  Yeah, that's one of the more emotional moments of the entire vanilla ME2 game.

I'm conflicted about the ME2 intro to say the least.

On one hand, If you take the scene by itself. Then it's a well crafted scene, filled with emotions and atmosphere.

But on the other hand, given the context of the rest of the game. I dislike it, due to how meaningless it is.

Thanks for the kind words regarding "Liara's Letter", guys. I appreciate it!

I've always found the Normandy destruction scene to be quite emotionally resonant, even moreso following the release of LotSB. When one considers how Liara mourns Shepard's death for two long, painful years, it's heartbreaking.

That's beautiful, and easily one of the best pieces of Liara/Shepard fanart.
