I base things based off what we've seen so far. Can Liara stop a car like Samara? No.

Can she maintain the biotic field in the Collector base? My initial thought was no, but she might be up to it.

Personally, I believe that she could. She's an adept, after all.

I think she can. But not because she's an "Adept". Adept is just a label for gameplay purposes
You can say Jack and Jacob are Vanguards. Jack can maintain the bubble, Jacob can't....

Whatever the reasons are as to why someone can maintain that field, they have little to do with the gameplay classes we can assign to them, IMO

I'd peg Jack as an adept, actually. All of her powers are biotic in some way. But I see your point.

How powerful are Liara's biotics, exactly?

I know that in-game stats aren't great things to extrapolate from, but two things we can be sure Liara is skilled with are Singularity and Stasis, the latter of which seems to be a rare skill. We also know that she's capable of singlehandedly defeating multiple dig-site raiders.

There goes Vasir. In a car. ^_^

I think his point is that just because she hasn't done it doesn't mean she can't do it.

I do seem to remember a car popping up from the parking lot and knocking down that last wave of attackers in LotSB before you find Vasir's car... Coincidence, or did Liara finally remember that she could do that?

This line of reasoning makes it difficult to make a comparison between the two of them.

As for Samara, we have the following evidence - The asari are natural biotics.  Biotic ability is partially about practice.  The asari live long lives, leaving plenty of time for practice.  Samara has been alive longer than Liara.  Samara has been participating combat activities professionally for a long time, first as a mercenary, then as a Justicar.  Part of Justicar training is biotics training, maybe even mastery.

Lastly, it's important to remember that gameplay mechanics don't necessarily constitute or represent the actual abilities and powers of the characters.

Samara is definitely more powerful than Liara in terms of biotics. When Liara is Samara's age, I expect her to be probably the most powerful biotic in the entire freakin galaxy though.

Although, in fairness, most cars don't have proximity mine layers. So it might be like a special Spectre car (issued by Q Branch of course) with extra thrusters or something :)

I decided to update my other fic every Tuesday to space them out, but now that I think of it, that's probably a horrible idea. Who the hell wants to be reminded it's Tuesday? :(

Like your new avatar BTW!

OK, not looking to start any flaming and not attempting to troll at all but I was kinda disappointed with how the dialogue between Shepard and Liara played out in LotSB. I Posted Image Liara in the first game but I really felt like she was an entirely new character in her DLC. I can totally understand how her experiences might alter her personality after Shephard's death but imo it really did feel like I was talking to a different person.

I know I'm in the minority here and I'm not saying I now hate Liara but nothing in LotSB made me want to rekindle any kind of relationship with the new Liara and also, not sure if it's just me but the cutscenes and the dialogue led me to believe that she and guy the SB was torturing (sorry, I've totally forgotten his name atm) had a thing going and that just didn't sit well with me at all.

I'm hoping that whatever happens in ME3 that they soften Liara again as her appeal to me from the first game was as an innocent having to deal with the horrors of the galaxy. Instead of an innocent, we find her 2 years on acting very cold-hearted and totally against the character that was built up in the original. If I wanted to date a bad-ass then I'd be looking to chat up Jack.

Did you miss the part where Liara said that she made it clear to Feron that she was taken?

But I don't think you have much to worry about. Liara's a bit harsher now, but she no longer has anything to want revenge on, and her personality will be less... "clouded." But if you haven't invited her back for drinks on the Normandy, do so; she's a lot better.

I've yet to play through ME2 with my "Canon" Shepard and will hopefully have my mind changed when I do but as I said, I really hope she softens a little again for the 3rd installment.

@Xilizhra: Yes, she does say that. I get a feeling, however, that the developers decided to save some money by making Liara's Feron exposition sufficiently ambiguous to work regardless of whether Liara was Shepard's LI in ME1.

@Kaldarm - You are obviously young and still need a lot of life experience, as evidenced by your view of Liara through the 2 games and the DLC. People can change significantly within months when extreme circumstances are/have been at work on an individual or a society. It's not difficult to consider there would be significant changes over 2 years for someone who has been in constant turmoil. Liara hasn't changed, she's just matured and lost a lot of naivety in the process.

I am not saying your view is wrong or incorrect, just that it's probably a bit naive.

Obviously young eh? I wish!! I'm mid 30's and have lived a pretty stressful and diverse life so far (including military service) and whilst I've seen plenty of people change (especially after deployments) I just don't think the changes fitted the character and her experiences. Not flaming you Sunnie and not getting on the defensive either - it's actually kinda refreshing for someone to think I'm a youngster <3

I don't quite know if you chaps have thought about this, but given that both Samara and Liara are pureblood asari, would it not make sense for Liara's children to be ardat-yakshis?

Just imagine; you have completed mass effect 3. These long years have finally paid off, granting you a worthy finale.

However, all is not as it seems. Having consumated your romance with Liara T'Soni, you inevitably conceive a child together. This child is an Ardat-Yakshi, addicted to deadly sex. It's a dreadful thought, isn't it?

... Or is it... some of you renegades may say otherwise I suppose.

A-Y odds aren´t that high when the other parent isn´t Asari.
