Back on topic: Liara on Illium before LoTSB it was easy for my manshep Marcus to move on A) Because Tali is adorable and anyone who doesn't hug her when she finds her father is a monster, and Because Liara was -clearly- not interested in pursuing things right now. Liara knew/knows what limited time Marcus had/has and still pushed him away. Just like Ashley had, though for different reasons. It also promoted the idea that Feron was now her driving focus and alluded to their being more there that Liara had 'moved on'.

Two years or not it was rough on him which is why when Tali at least opened up to Marcus he fell for her.

Now I just recently got LoTSB and am giddy for Cathryne as that was beautiful for her but for Marcus it wasn't renegade, but it was business. Liara had seen to that.

What I'm trying to say summed up is this:

Don't be so angry at those who tossed Liara for a new LI, the way Bioware wrote it before LoTSB came out it was an EASY thing to do for some shep's.

Now after having played through LoTSB with Cathryne I played through ME1 and 2 again with Mara, who is in Adept and Liara the whole way through. Lair has made it hard for me to pick which is my 'canon' shep, as it was firmly going to be Marcus moving forward but now Mara might become it. I am hoping the third DLC will allow Dominic to finally reconcile with Ashley though.

I don't think anyone is angry at those who chose to end things with Liara for someone else, it is just that there are some who see the first meeting on Ilium differently. I agree with the assessment that Liara is not ready to start the relationship right then but all of my ME1 Liara romance Shepards chose to remain faithful because she is worth it. To each his/her own I say, that is the beauty of a game with so many choices.

I still hug Tali I just don't start a romance with her because for all of my Shepards she is like a little sister.

The DLC doesn't modify the original game that much, what you're seeing is the fact that the DLC is, well, DLC and not seamlessly worked into the game. Much of what happens after the SM doesn't make a lot of sense, like if you go exploring and Cerberus keeps sending you missions after you told TIM to go to hell essentially (If you did).



Now, would it be awesome to call up Liara and snuggle with her and the like? Yes, yes it would. However, it's simply a case of original code being used and the original code simply not knowing about the DLC in every situation so it thinks you are still with Tali. I am kinda wondering how they're going to deal with that in ME3, the relationship flags.

Okay so, I have a save where i do not stay faithful to liara and go with tali, once i got done with the game i went to play lotsb, I still was able to stay with liara and apparently leave tali. I did this and got the scene when Liara and Shep make "love" but soon after that i can still call up tali to sit on the couch or lie on the bed with her. So, Do i have both as a love interest? i'm beyond confused.

I think you still got both flagged as romanced. better break up with Tali then. Unless you want to stay with Tali, but then why did you re-start the romance with Liara?

So much about ME1 and 2 is a tear jerker. Heck even listening to the sound track some songs can make me tear up just thinking about where they are used. I'm becoming a major softy in my old age. That or the Mass Effect team have become masters at causing emotional connections to their fictional characters. Was almost crying after the Shadow Broker was finally killed, Cathryne Shephard was complete again.

Wow  that's a great pic. Would be awesome in Liara was setup like this in ME3 though I don't think she be but I don't mind lol.

Can never go wrong with pictures, it's a repost, but when threads get as long as they do by this point it's likely not everyone is going to read the whole thread (Like I did, ugh! ) and also, it's a nice on topic piece of art regardless

But I thought I'd mention something and start a new topic:

One thing I love about Liara is how conservative she is. I mean that in how she dresses and how she acts. I noticed that she's wearing something very revealing in the picture, and while it's beautiful, I still had a moment where I thought, "Liara would never wear that."

Anyways, this might just be my canon!Shep, or something, but I think Liara is a very conservative dresser. Not that that's bad or good - it's just who she is. I like that she's not throwing herself on Shepard (or anyone else for that matter) or wearing something teasing when you see her. 

I think it's wonderful because we obviously love her for who she is - not because we can 'see the goods' so to speak.

No, you are on to something! She is conservative, and prefers to show her intelligence over her body, which is one of the major attractions for me. I love Liara for her mind and her personality, not because she is hawt!

That's definitely what I meant - I think I say 'conservative' in comparison to some of the other asari outfits. I don't know, but for me, dressing practically screams so much more about a person than dressing revealingly.
