Liara becoming Shadow Broker is pretty cool. It's a long journey from being an archaeologist dismissed by others in the field.
It is...I pray they don't do anything to undermine all she has achieved over these past 2 games in ME3.
Then I will have a happy ME3 exerience.

I have faith that everything's going to be alright. Liara will have her rough moments, and moments of pain and regret, but I think everything will be alright with her in the end. I just do, though still a little worried.
Also, Lady Hawke's a badass.

It's the Recon hood. One of those Dr. Pepper promo items that I was, unfortunately, unable to get.

Somebody on the forum found a way to cheat the system so you could unlock all of them. That's how I finally managed to get them.
Anyway to stay on topic. I love all those screenshots!

If I didn't know any better, I would say that it was Garrus to say the truth.

At the very beginning of ME2, when you talk to TIM about the rest of your squad.
He says that Liara is working for the shadow broker and thus can't be trusted.
Except Liara and Feron were working to recover Shepard's body from the Shadow Broker.
This operation was supported by Cerberus, so that they could use the Lazarus Project to revive Shepard.
So really, Liara is working as an independent agent (which is why she's trying to knock off the SB agents in the terminal hacking quest.) However, Liara has worked for Cerberus.
So why can't I have her, TIM?
Fortunately, that's what LoTSB is for.

I just worry, as Liara's story is the only think I really care about for ME3.

I think Liara's important in the Mass Effect universe, and that should be respected in ME3. I imagine she would help Shepard's odds against the reapers if you did the DLC.
My ultimate worry is that they will do the 'power corrupts' thing with Liara in ME3, which would then undermine everything she's accomplished thus far.

It's possible because TIM wants to keep close friends/lovers away from Shepard. He basically lied...I'm sure he knows Liara is working for herself. Liara tells Miranda at the end of Redemption that she's going to try and find Feron.
Actually, if Liara was willing to join Shepard, TIM probably wouldn't say anything about it...what could he do?

I was just thinking that it was a really shaky excuse for why she wasn't in vanilla ME2 (of course, LoTSB was excellent).
My take on Liara's character development for ME3:
I think that the series-spanning characters (Shepard, Liara, Wrex, Garrus, Tali, Kaiden, Ash) are something like Hegel's dialectic, with the Mass Effect 1 characterization as the thesis, Mass Effect 2 characterization as the antithesis, and Mass Effect 3 characterization will be the synthesis.
Shepard-
Thesis: Mass Effect 1 - Shepard becomes a Spectre, chosen to represent humanity. Has the resources of the council. Receives public acknowledgment for saving galaxy.
Antithesis: Mass Effect 2 - Shepard dies. Revived by Cerberus. Must work from the shadows, since Cerberus is considered evil, untrustworthy. Shepard is forced to put his/her life on the line, without any public knowledge of the sacrifices made.
Liara -
Thesis: Mass Effect 1 - Liara is a Prothean expert. However, she is very young, and very unsure of herself. ME1 is Liara's coming-of-age.
Antithesis: Mass Effect 2 - Liara is working as a private information broker. Eventually, with the help of Shepard, she becomes the new Shadow Broker.
I can go on, but this is the Liara thread, so I will focus on Liara and Shepard.
Liara has taken over as the Shadow Broker, head of an organization that is known to commit evil actions (bombing that building on Illium). However, the manner in which Liara takes over is _very_ different from how the Yahg took control. The Yahg assassinated the previous Broker, as part of a power grab, for his own purposes.
Liara works with Shepard to become the new Broker. Liara takes over the position to help fight against the Reapers. Ultimately, the Yahg took certain actions strictly for the Yahg's personal benefit. However, Liara has someone to fight for.
Assuming that BioWare is thinking along Hegelian lines, then we are likely to see a synthesis in ME3.
Keep in mind, Liara has already seen what absolute power can do. Liara has seen how evil cannot be reformed. I think that the Matriarch Benezia subplot is going to be important in ME3. Liara knows what can happen, so therefore, Liara is not going to run the risk of becoming another Benezia.
I also think that Matriarch Aeythia is going to become important. I mean, eventually Liara is going to have to stumble across that video archive, right?

I wrote something the other night. Originally I had started a short story about my Shep when she's on Alchera, going through the wreckage of the Normandy. She comes across a promise ring that she had meant to give Liara, and listens to her last journal entry recorded before the Normandy was destroyed. Turns out I got really into the audio for the journal entry, so I flushed that out instead.

I really like your Alice, you make her very relatable. Too bad she can't meet my Ripley I think they'd get along:P
