Apparently so.  It was on auto-pilot or something.

I would certainly hope so. :o

Or Liara took over the reigns....she rolls like that

Looks good so far.  Perhaps make her cheek on the right side of the painting a bit wider.

I have absolutely no problem with Liara grabbing the reigns.

Oh, that's stunningly beautiful! As far as constructive critique goes, I agree with the aforementioned suggestion that Liara's left cheek should perhaps be a little more prominent. Other than that, I think it looks great! Congratulations! :)

Without wishing to necro a dead topic of discussion, I'd just like to say that I like to rewrite and reimagine the events of Redemption within my own personal headcanon, and remove the sense of ambiguity regarding the romance, Liara's relationship with Shepard, and the influence that Shepard has exerted on the series' universe and characters. Furthermore, I also rewrite some of Liara's dialogue and actions, in order to make it more consistent with her character as it is presented in the games. After all, the general consensus seems to be that Liara acts quite OOC in the comic book.

I do still find myself wondering if Drew Karpyshyn had Liara's role across the entire trilogy planned out when he originally created her character, though. Arguably, Liara's Break The Cutie began as soon as she had left Therum, during the events of ME1.

It would be nice to think that they had this entire trilogy planned out since the beginning, but something tells me that's not the case.  This feels a little too much like the Matrix 'trilogy' to me.  The first story is deep, interesting, and introduces a world of possibility.  Then the second comes along and tries to be much more flashy while only barely staying true to the originally established canon.  And the third...

Mind you, I don't dislike ME2 nearly as much as some people do.  I think it still has potential, despite the obvious pandering to a different gamer crowd than ME1.

That said, were you planning on focusing your Redemption redux on a specific Shepard, or was it going to be in a similar form as the original (AnonyShep) with the Shepard/Liara romance included?

Well, as far as I am aware, Drew Karpyshyn had written a general outline of the entire trilogy's story before ME1 had even been released, and that the team of writers who are subsequently continuing on in his absence are forced to adhere to the general plot that Drew had penned several years ago. As Liara was originally Drew's character, and especially when considering the fact that she is the squaddie with the greatest degree of plot relevance in ME1, I'm wondering if her entire story and character arc had been decided upon when she was created. After all, she's practically the trilogy's co-star alongside Commander Shepard herself...

Whilst the specifics may have not been set in stone when she was created, I'm sure that it has always been Drew's intention to have Liara enjoy a prominent and pivotal plot role.

Haha! You've just reminded me that I really do need to get to work. :D

I was intending to use my canon Shepard, and implement my reimagining of Redemption into my own personal headcanon. After all, I think Redemption's script was left ambiguous and somewhat malleable for that very reason.

Well that's good to hear.  It's hard to maintain the flow of a story if you don't start out with an end goal in mind.  I think the Matrix trilogy is one of the worst offenders in this regard.

I believe you have several stories to get to writing, young man!  *cracks whip!*  :P

Here are a couple of essays I ran across a while ago that helped me to see a lot more of what was going on in Matrix 2 & 3:

That said, yes, the first one was by far the best.

I love her silver blue eye color to say the truth. I guess it's because my eye color is the same as her old one.

I like the look Liara has in the LotSB DLC. Upgraded textures, if nothing else.

It's her eyes, really.  It's not the exotic, alien, blue skin thing.  It's those eyes:wub:

These eyes can move worlds. They certainly move my Shepard.

And when she smiles my Shepard would return from the dead (again) to see that. <3

And here's something I wrote yesterday. Something I though I share with others who love Liara.

RE: Drew and his writing of Liara...he may have had a rough idea of where the character was going to go in the triology, but he's gone now, so we have no idea how much of Current!Liara was his idea, or in anyway related to his ideas.  The new writers could have completely scrapped his origional plans.  I think Patrick mentioned that they did plan on making either Liara or Shepard the Shadow Broker since pre-ME2, but this doesn't mean Drew had this idea for Liara origionally.  I kind of doubt it, tbh.

Well, I personally believe that Liara's Prothean expertise was always intended to be utilised again in ME3, and could be the reason as to why she has maintained her plot armour across the entire trilogy thus far. After all, Lair of the Shadow Broker foreshadows that some form of Prothean technology or research might be used in the forthcoming Reaper war, and a renowned Prothean expert would be the prime candidate to study and decipher any useful information that might be unearthed.

Considering this, it is entirely possible that Patrick Weekes would have made the decision to utilise Liara's knowledge in the form of her becoming the new Shadow Broker, and that she would use the network to scour the galaxy for clues. In addition to this, it would also form the basis of Liara's character development, and allow her to pursue a new career after the mystery behind the Prothean extinction had been discovered.
