These eyes can move worlds. They certainly move my Shepard.

And when she smiles my Shepard would return from the dead (again) to see that. <3

And here's something I wrote yesterday. Something I though I share with others who love Liara.

Jane and Liara: Daughter.

Those eyes move a lot of Shepards.  That's a fact.
And that's a wonderfult story, thanks for sharing.

Liara looked better in ME 1

Really? I like all version of her but LOTSB takes the cake.

Sorry, wrong word. I meant cuter in ME 1

She looks more mature in LOTSB, and the darker tone is better looking.

Well, I personally believe that Liara's Prothean expertise was always intended to be utilised again in ME3, and could be the reason as to why she has maintained her plot armour across the entire trilogy thus far. After all, Lair of the Shadow Broker foreshadows that some form of Prothean technology or research might be used in the forthcoming Reaper war, and a renowned Prothean expert would be the prime candidate to study and decipher any useful information that might be unearthed.

Definitely possible, considering this CDN report:

01/24/2011 - Paper Suggests Mass Relays Predate Protheans “Historians and astronomers alike are abuzz tonight over a new paper published by Dr. Amanda Kenson of the University of Arcturus.  Her team claims that by testing the dust trapped in the gravity wells around a mass relay, and comparing its composition to that of dust clouds in the same system, scientists can create a timeline of when the relay passed through the dust. Her conclusion? "Only a small fraction of the mass effect relays date back 50,000 years," she writes, "The majority are far older, indicating they were created by a species predating even the Protheans." Dr. Aurana T'Meles of the University of Serrice met the information with skepticism: "While Dr. Kenson's methods appear sound, the asari tried a similar procedure centuries ago and discounted it. What civilization could have spanned the galaxy for not thousands, but millions of years? If this were the case, we should have found mountains of evidence of their passing. Where is this species now?"

...and the upcoming DLC.

I really like being able to romance her in my game. My Shepard is a Colonist/Sole Survivor, the unluckiest man alive. He holds it together well, but it's a struggle every day. He fears losing more people in combat. This is why he's a paragon to his crew and will do ANYTHING for them, but will cut a bloody path of death and destruction through anyone that threatens them. He sees darkness all day, every day. Liara is the only truly bright light for my Shepard. She's wise and strong, but innocent and pure. She's really too good for him and he knows it, but he can't help himself. She's one of the few good things in this God-forsaken, ****ty mess humanity finds itself in, and more than anything else, he needs her.

As an extension of this theory, wouldn't it be intriguing if Liara were a mandatory squadmate during a mission to, for example, the Prothean homeworld, as her expertise is necessary to understand and decipher the research that has been uncovered there? The possibilities are endless, and also exremely exciting.

If Liara were to have any form of personal mission, I imagine that her knowledge would be somehow related to its objectives.

Ch 4 for anyone who's interested. Shepard shows that he's a little bit of a leader, a little bit of an a**hole and a whole lot of crazy.

Liara doesn't cower on Therum like she did in ME1. That bothered me to no end.

I forgot to put breaks in between changes in setting. If you want to wait like... 10 minutes it'll be fixed.

I do love that second piece of fanart. It's gorgeous! It's also oddly nostalgic to see Liara wearing her old ME1 labcoat again.

Speaking of Liara's physical appearance, I wonder if it was a conscious design choice to have her facial features appear, to a certain extent, a little more matured on her Lair of the Shadow Broker character model? I think we've all documented the fact that her cheekbones appear to be a little sharper, and that she's lost some of the youthful roundness to her face that was present in ME1. Do you think that this was intended to reflect her character development?

I do love her LotSB redesign, though. Her beauty is more mature, refined and elegant, whilst simultaneously appearing completely undiminished.

Yeah, I think they were trying to make her 'look' older/more mature in ME2/LotSB as some (incorrectly) believed she was too young/naive in ME1, in spite of her being 106 and having 50 years experience traveling the galaxy under her belt...possibly b/c her face was a bit rounder, giving off a more youthful vibe.

Is her LotSB face still based off of the original model? Or did they just use it as a base and 'fiddle around with the sliders' to make her look a bit more matured?

I'm not sure, Marshal. I would imagine they just fiddled with the original structure a bit, also changing her eye color and giving her better textures.

That's entirely true.

To be perfectly honest, it still baffles me that people will assert that Liara was weak, immature and childish during the events of ME1. After all, as you stated, she has been fighting and killing people since before Shepard was even born, and has also forged a successful career as a renowned Prothean expert and archaeologist. Furthermore, I fail to see how Liara's interactions and dialogue with fellow NPCs indicate that she is weak-willed and submissive. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I still find it quite fascinating to compare the repurposed ME1 character model that is used in the retail version of ME2, and the updated and redesigned version that is present in Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Liara's face definitely appears a little narrower in the image on the right.

Your shots are much better than mine, LET!

I think that aside from the coloring, there aren't too many differences between the two.

Thats another reason I like LOTSB Liara, she looks more like Benezia.

Makes me wonder how Benezia would actuelly look without the evil-queen hat thingy on.

As do I. This also brings to mind what I first thought about when I played LotSB the first time. And that's that I like that they made more use of her eyes. She will more often look out the corner of them without moving her head. Leading with the eyes before a head movement like in the cabin scene etc. Subtleties like this really helped make her thoughts and emotions more distinctive and stand out more to me.

I didn't get the impression she was especially renowned.  Doesn't she suggest no one takes her theories about the cycle of extinctions seriously because she's too young?
