I would love to hear Mordin and Liara interact if nothing else because of their different speech patterns.

Imagine all the eye twitches Liara would have trying to keep up with that motormouth.

I would find the mass effect 1 characters to interact way more than say Mordin. But that is just because Liara knows these people more than the other mass effect 2 characters. Kaiden, Garrus, Wrex, and Tali would be where Liara would stay in a group I believe, but I see how Mordin would be the most interesting to see Liara have conversations with.

I'd also consider the fact that Liara is acquainted with Miranda, too. I actually believe that Liara would want to catch up with her, and discuss the manner in which things have changed since the events of Redemption.

On a somewhat related note, if Miranda accompanies both Shepard and Liara during the assault on the Shadow Broker Base, then it's quite interesting to imagine how the meeting between Liara, herself and Feron would pan out, considering the fact that all three of them are familiar with each other. Shepard would almost feel excluded from the discussion, as she was incapacitated when the three of them first met. Shepard's possible confusion would actually be quite funny!

But of course, Miranda and Feron completely ignore each other XD

That's why I rewrite certain aspects of those scenes in my headcanon, yo! It's similar to how I like to believe that Liara's dialogue and behaviour during the events of Redemption is somewhat different within my own personal Shepard canon.

I presume that, after Feron and Miranda give Shepard and Liara some privacy in the immediate aftermath of the Shadow Broker's defeat, the pair of them would catch up together.

For some reason I don't think Liara and Miranda would ever really be good friends. They might know each other, and might be able to discuss a topic, and in some ways respect each other, but I can't imagine them being real friends. You know the old saying "I just don't click with that person, and I don't know why?". I think that would be the case with them.

Yeah, since wasn't she the one saying "He's expendable" and "Wasn't worth going after?". lol. Actually, that's pretty funny if she ends up going with Shepard during the rescue.

Wait, Miranda actually says that? Whoa. It's been a while since I last read Redemption, but I'm almost certain that Miranda encourages Liara to do whatever it is she wishes to do. I think she says something to the effect of that Feron knew the risks, and that Cerberus did not want to commit any resources into rescuing him.

Some of the interactions between Liara and Miranda are actually my favourites parts of the comics, oddly enough. I quite liked the chemistry between the two characters at the end of the story, when the pair of them are talking to each other on the Lazarus Station.

Much. ^_^

A little off-topic question for you guys that frecuently post here: How the heck do you manage to find so much time to spend on the forums? I'm here now just because it's Friday. But there's little chance I could find some time in the week to talk about this lovely scientist. So I'm intrigued about it, maybe you'll give an insight of how to get more time! :P

Ooh Liara fanfiction, I'll give this a look. :)

And those are great pictures Rusty. I love what Bioware did with Liara's look in LotSB.

In that respect, the LotSB writing is a huge improvement on the weaknesses of Liara's dialogue in ME1. The sheer amount of variations to the interaction between Shepard and Liara during the cabin scene is astonishing, and it would be quite awesome if all future conversations, romantic or otherwise, were to be as sensitive to the player's story and character progression.

Well, yes, but LotSB was a Liara-centric DLC.  It focused on her character dev and hers alone.  There will be 14 other squad mates to worry about in ME3.

The question is, how will the varying Shepard/Liara dialog options found in LotSB affect Shepard's relationship (friendship or romance) in ME3?  What will happen for those that didn't play/complete LotSB?

Makes me wonder what the romance situation will be in ME3, let alone the dialog changes if you didn't do LotSB. Suppose you romanced her in ME1, didn't do LotSB in ME2 do they find another way to reconcile? Or is the only option LotSB?

I suppose it will depend on if LotSB is assumed to have been done by Shepard in ME3 regardless, or if Liara somehow does it on her own if you don't give her the data.

DLC is optional so they can't really make it story related, although LoTSB is quite story related, so I don't really know what they will do :/... They might do as you said and assume Shepard helped Liara with the SB. The events of LoTSB are between ME 2 and 3 after all... So  they could easilly say that Shepard had done it in between games :)

BioWare didn't invest all that effort into creating LoTSB just to toss it away for ME3, especially since they've said LoTSB will affect the ME3 story. I think that Liara is going to replace the Illusive Man/Council as the main quest giver, because she's the only guaranteed person in a position of power.

Also, I think that I need to find a new avatar. Usually whenever I'm looking for my posts, I just look for ME1 outfit Liara. However, it would appear that this is mostly ineffective here!

Great update!

I found the character sheet for my canon and favorite Shepard and actually tried to start a story but after 2 hours I actually read what I had written and decided to stick with reading fanfiction.

They certainly won't can the events of LotSB for ME3, but it's unclear whether they'd relate at all to the events of Arrival. Much as I am looking forward to Arrival, I'm not holding out hope that they make LotSB part of its canon.

True, with cerberus pretty much gone and Shepard not on the best terms with the alliance we'll most likely be seeing or hearing, or maybe even both -- Install a quantum entanglement device in Shadow Broker Base for communication with Liara before every mission please?

Thank you!

If it helps, before I wrote this, I believed two things: (1) I couldn't write a long story (more than 10K words) and (2)  I couldn't write dialog. Of course some people may say I still can't  but you know what I mean.

As always, your Liara screenshots are wonderful, Rusty. Thanks! I do love the manner in which her character model was redesigned and updated for ME2, and how it presents an interesting evolution in her appearance across the entire trilogy thus far.

Oh, and I'd like to echo TheMarshal's sentiments regarding Lair of the Shadow Broker. I'm pretty sure that its content is a canonical part of the storyline, and that players who did not experience it will receive a relatively brief explanation in ME3. I'm actually quite interested to see how an alternate romance reconciliation will pan out in that game, as the player would have obviously not played the DLC, and the romance would very much still be within the depths of the rocky second chapter.

With the millions of Reapers attacking, I doubt that there will be any "quest givers"... Theres no time! :L

I just want her back as a squadmate and LI :)
