I actually wouldn't mind a DA2-style Mass Effect game where you can import your ME1-3 saves to get some background and some of the decisions made, but don't necessarily play as Shepard. I mean, how cool would it be to walk by one of the news consoles and have it say something like "The all-asari production of Swan Lake opened today to rave reviews, particularly for the prima ballerina, the daughter of Commander Shepard and Liara T'Soni..." (For some reason I see their first daughter becoming a dancer ::shrug:

That's a really good point. We all had the chance to romance Liara but the Kaiden and Ashley fans got nothing, having Liara stay in the base til near the end would sort of even that discrepancy out.

@centauri - Biotic god volus for Shep's lawyer, he thinks things and they happen.

Well at least we know how Shep is going to start ME3 on earth probably in court although the trailer suggests otherwise. I have faith in Bioware they won't make a 4th Shep game. I'd like them to keep exploring the ME universe though.

As long as Liara got a decent amount of screen time and interaction with Shepard, I wouldn't mind her not being in the squad for a good portion of the game.  I'm wondering how they will counter that discrepency though, or even if they will.

Yes, a trial would be interesting. Maybe that's how they'll facilitate the player having to gain a new squad - Shepard ends up imprisoned and isolated from her crew. Then, the Reapers appear and she has to hurriedly muster the different species together.

I thought Arrival was actually fantastic... Dialogue was minimum, apart from Hacket, that was really good (also when people attacked, Shepard says "they've spotted us" when there is only him :L I found that quite annoying)... That aside it was definately the second best DLC we have had (obviously LoTSB is NO. 1).

I thought that it was better than Overlord and Kashmi, by far!
I think if Liara wasn't in Lair of The Shadow broker then It would probably be on par with LoTSB, perhaps even better (if you only consider the actual "main mission").

I think tragic would fit the story very well, but I really don't want another depressing ending to something I like :L I felt sad for days after I watched the ending of Prison Break

@Marshal: I laughed at the ballerina imagery.

I shall put up a link once I've written the first chapter (think of splitting it into three as an obvious parallel to the series). I don't have any other Mass Effect fanfics, I'm afraid. And it's not likely you'll know my most recent fandom, it's smaller than Mass Effect's. >.>

@Jigsaw: I think I still would have liked LotSB even if Liara hadn't been the one to feature in it. The dialogue was just so well written. Of course, her being there made it even better. >.>

Aww, I never watched Prison Break so I'm not sure what the ending could have been but I still enjoy tragedy but only if it's well developed and meaningful.

I would have enjoyed it too... The dialogue was meant for Liara fans though, because it addressed all our complaints (her being a stranger, hacking terminals, asking why she has Changed etc) and they handled it brilliantly the Normandy scene was all I could hope for in a reunion with Liara... Although the "sex" scene could of been a bit more romantic than "I'lI touch your ass and then it's over" :L... In ME1 the "sex" scene felt so meaningful and felt like they were connecting spiritually...

Also if you consider the pricetag if Arrival... It really was brilliant value for money compared with Kasumi and Overlord...

While I would have quite liked an intimate scene there, I think the tender moments that were shown (albeit not very sexual) before were enough. I was happy with how it played out.

Thinking about that Liara dialogue "When the reapers come, you'll dive right into the fray" should there be an option where Shep doesn't talk to Liara before diving into the fray, but does it anyway for the sake of the galaxy? Then having an epilogue where Liara is heatbroken?

Heartbroken Liara? Why would you even suggest that!? T_T

Seriously though, I think there's probably a whole lot more that could go wrong in the next game that would leave Liara upset than Shepard not coming to see her before the big fight. Although, it might be a nice added touch. And by nice I mean horribly cruel.

She feels that it's too restrictive for her, too regimented, and promotes conformity and blind obedience.  She's in the Alliance because it was the best way for her to actually make a difference in the galaxy (at the time, since before that she was just running around with gangs, feeling miserable and small).

I agree I would have preferred Shepard to kiss her instead of touching her bum :L... It just seems like something you wouldn't do if your in love with someone, you would have an intimate kiss... You wouldn't feel them up, just doesn't seem right. It's like in Mass Effect 1... The scene was very intimate, if they had shown us any more nudity it would have seemed less imtimate... Even Jacks scene was more imitate than Liaras (just the actually "sex" part... Liara dialogue is unbeaten !)

First off, they already had their passionate,  finally-reunited kiss back in the base, so that's possibly why we didn't see it here. Secondly, from all the lip and body shots we kept getting of Liara throughout the LotSB add-on, it's pretty obvious Shepard was feeling a bit sexually pent up. Can't forget the earlier lines either...

Shepard: Yeah, that was the idea.

She only has one thing on her mind. >:3

It's not a sex scene, it's a love scene.  I never write pure sex, I'm more focused on the emotional exchange. Shepard and Liara have plenty of emotion. :3

But, yes, I'm sadly known for this in my other fandom (I believe I've been referred to as the Smut Queen over there). I got typecast. I am pretty good at them though so might as well stick with my strengths. >.>

5k words on a sex scene?  Pretty damn good!  I only managed ~2k words on the masskink prompt I did a little while ago.  Of course I didn't go into any 'juicy' details (oof, just realized what a bad choice of words that was...)

I'd probably go for something more if I was a bit more comfortable with the pairing but, this being my first Mass Effect fic, I'm trying not to overtax myself. I still have the other scenes to write yet. D:
