I normally do short chapters (Like 5k or 10k if the scene needs to be longer) but do loads of them (like 30 or 50)I always make sure the chapter ends on a sort of cliffhanger too, so people want to read on
It depends on the story really. Sometimes shorter chapters suits me, particularly if I don't have a lot of time to write. If it's a story with a sweeping plot then it'll have plenty of chapters. But, for stories like this, where I'm concentrating on emotional depth, I tend to write longer but fewer chapters. It helps build up atmosphere and draw the reader in.
