Here it is... My Liara tribute video for all you FemShep fans
Dedicated to Centauri2002 :) please subscribe and give a thumbs up if you like it, I will be most greatful :)

Check out our other Mass Effect videos too :)

I already gave a comment but just wondering; how long did it take you to make approx?

*Edit -  Vid is damn good Posted Image

The first Tribute (male) took me about 3-5 hours... This took me about about 4 hours I think :)... Most of that time is spent mixing tracks together and mixing it with dialogue... The biggest time consumer is editing the video to perfection (e.g. So that transitions happen to a beat in the music...)

And thanks :)

I even spent time making the movements of a scene in time with the music :L e.g. When Liara looks up (in the LoTSB scene where she is in front o the screens), I spent time trying to get that in time with the music ;P

So, did you think it was better than my other Liara tribute?

I think no, mostly due to you having more Mshep video than Fshep (really hoping centauri doesn't set me on fire for that).

I liked both but the 2nd seemed a tad more patched than the first. Are you planning some more? Any advice for editing the vid?

I'm going to make as much as I can :)

What exactly do you mean by "patched"...?

I thought the main reason was because there was less video as well :( although the only extra video in the first was the scene on Therum, that is also a "key" scene because it's where you meet Liara.

Why would Centauri set you on fire? :L your not saying anything bad about FShep, your just saying I had more MShep video to use in the the video :P

Yeah but the less vid the more what is there has to make up for it. Just that the transitions felt just a tad too long.

I just want to point out I really liked it and whatever minor dislikes there are are just insignificant dust.

I'm really looking forward to your future vids and fanfic Posted Image.
I wish you sweet dreams... preferably of Liara.

I don't think centauri would set me on fire, although I'm a fence sitter on the fshep vs mshep debate. I'll have to fall over one day.

Yeah, I think my Mass Effect 3 trailers are less "patched" because there is so much different scenes in them :)

Thanks :) I dont mind people saying what they don't like about my vids, it just makes my future vids better ;)

And I will have a nice sleep (well 3 and a half hours :/) dreaming about Liara :L

Gonna do some of my FanFic tomorrow before my next vid... What would you like to see next in my future videos?...

I'll read your reply tomorrow :)

Bye :)

You mentioned parody a while ago and I've yet to see a really good, not tacky not too low brow ME parody. One of the things I like best about the ME universe is the humour, the unpredicability of it is one thing that keeps it fresh. So if you could capture just a tiny piece of that I'd love it. Other than that I like peoples vids to be a bit of a surprise and your judgement has been great so far, I think whatever you do I'll watch and enjoy thoroughly.

Note: If anyone has seen a good ME parody please post the link.

So... Arrival spoilers:

How do you think Liara will react when Shepard leaves for his trail, and possible imprisonment?

My shepard will probably make a paragon --> Renegade twist and just bust himself out of jail or even before that if it comes to it. I'm sure Liara will understand. I mean... You don't put the GREATEST HUMAN OF ALL TIME in jail just for killing a few batarians.. and there are billions left so it's not like it really mattered anyway.

But she is basically responsible for destroying Earth... Could she live with that? Not sure I could. I hate to quote this, but in Star Sars Anakin kills loads of people to save his wife, she never forgave him and they were madly in love as well... So I think Liara would act in the same way... I know if my Girlfriend chose me over a whole civilisation, sure I'd feel loved, but I don't think I could live with it :L

It's not really the same, but I won't get into those details right right now. Anakin did kill a lot of people but right before his fight with Obi-Wan, Padme just begs anakin to come with her and leave everything else behind. This implies she probably already has forgiven him. As for having to choose between saving the earth or Liara... Seeing as the reapers won't destroy the entire planet (just the surface) and in that case I'm sure a few million humans (also counting all other colonies) will survive. With a few million humans there are enough of them to ensure the human race survives so I would definately save Liara.

Shepard ending a la Revan anyone? 10 years after ME3, Shepard, his/her wife bondmate Liara and their 2 children are seen boarding a ship into possibly asari space. They aren't seen again, though from time to time some stories get out about people having seen someone who resembles Shepard, living with his/her asari bondmate in a quiet and peacefull olony on the edges of asari space.

Saving Liara seems a bit of a nobrainer for me. Especially if it's renegade shep plus I think Liara would find a way to forgive Shep. It's a matter of circumstance not intent like with Benezia, Shep didn't want to kill her but circumstance dictated she must die so Liara forgave Shep.

A Revan ending seems highly likely, Shep ventures off into unknown space with love interest and are occasionally heard from. I'd prefer something a little more closure. Although having that kind of ending already out there maybe Bioware will try for something else.

Isn't Renegade pretty much "stop the Reapers/Collectors by any means"? I'm not sure that's compatible with risking the survival of humanity (which is kinda the point of fighting the Reapers) by destroying Earth just to protect one individual - other planets are fine though.
On the other hand I can't see Paragons sacrificing billions of lives (of any species) just to save a loved one either. So I guess Canonical Shepard would save Earth and hate herself (and the Reapers) for it.
Edit: Also, you're assuming that Liara will let Shepard sacrifice a planet to save her rather than, say, making sure that she isn't captured alive and used as bait.

Renegade Shepard is there for humanity, not necessarily Earth and is more likely to put personal priorities first imo but I take your point. And the more I think about it yes Liara is not going to stand by and let that happen.

It could also cause problems with the variables if there was a large part of the game still to go when having to make the choice.

To be honest I don't thik it's a matter of renegade or paragon any more. ME3 will be 'Stop the reapers by any means necessary' in either case. These are things who have destroyed all intelligent life in the galaxy for possibly billions of years. Stopping the reapers with just a few 100.000 (or however many people are needed to sustain population) individuals of any race left should be considered a major victory. I highly doubt there's another way out here, A LOT of people are going to die here, there's no question about it. In the end the reapers just have to be destroyed. Sure, I'd like to save as many people as possible but I doubt it's even possibly.

As for a choice between LI and your entire race... for Shepard personally it would be a nightmare, but looking at it from the side it's not even a choice, you save a few billion people or you save 1 person. The choice should be pretty clear (Even though I couldn't bear to see Liara get hurt so it's not gonna happen in my playthrough)

True, but it's not like there's a lot of good endings to choose from.

1. Hero saves the day and lives a happy life
2. Hero saves the day and gives his/her life to do so
3. Hero saves the day and moves on, either with or without friends/loved ones
4. Hero doesn't save the day and the battle is pretty much lost (For example: Star Wars III)
5. Hero doesn't save the day but it gets saved by an unlikely character

But BioWare has never let me down before so I imagine they'll come up with a good (probably multiple) endings, one of which will probably have a Shepard and LI live happily ever after ending (pretty much cliche but that's how I want this story to end)

@Jigsaw: I loved the video. :3 I can see what Fiddles said about it seeming patchy though but that's just because you had limited footage to pull from. Perhaps if you'd had more action footage, you could have weaved the romance and action together more seamlessly. :)

Edit: It was the same time for me, last night. I live in the UK too. :P

@Fiddles: Don't worry, I'm not going to post anything up on this thread. I decided against it. :P And no, I'm not setting anyone on fire either! Even if you preferred MaleShep, that's your choice. I'd think you were crazy but I'd not start a crusade! >.>

If I have to choose between rescueing Earth or rescueing Liara. I would say: bye bye Earth.
No really in my opinion they won't touch Liara, she is very important for the franchise and maybe future adventures in Mass Effect.
But I could imagin that Shep get's badly hurt so she/he can't go back to being a Soldier or Specter. I would like that, just to make sure the story arc for Shep ends.

@JiGsAw2453 , great tribute videos, I enjoyed them both. Especially the ending of the male Shep was great.

And this is one of my favourite Liara/Shep  tributes, great music and good scenes:

Thanks for linking that. :3 I've had problems tracking down more FemShep/Liara videos. The best I've come across were made by Jib but now there's Jigsaw's and this one. *goes off to continue watching*

Edited to say: That was an excellent video. I love the type that tells a story and the dialogue in it was so well timed with the scenes and the music. This definitely made it into my top 3 list.

Good goodPosted Image. I didn't think you would but still good to know my safety is solid... for now anyways.

I have a couple playthroughs with both, why do you prefer the Femshep role for the Liara romance?

The biggest reason, no doubt, is the fact that my first play through was with my FemShep and, so, I see those two as belonging together. I haven't been able to romance anyone else with FemShep and I couldn't even think of Liara being with MaleShep.

I just enjoy Hale's voice acting so much more as well. Their emotional scenes actually have... emotion in them. >.> I've never been able to get on with MaleShep or his voice.

There's also something more tender and emotional about a romance between two females, I think. Of course, I may be a bit biased there but that's still the way I see it. I'm not saying that's always the case and that a MaleShep/Liara romance can't be that either but it just fits when I think of FemShep/Liara.

Jennifer Hale is definitely the better VO in my opinion. Meer for some reason sounds like he has a cold and seems not really into it at times. Although I thought Meer was better in ME1 and Hale better in ME2.

Hmm I've been told that a major benefit of lesbian relationships is the freedom to be more emotionally honest. Do you think bioware pulls that off?

Although I guess technically Liara is monogendered (whatever that means - gender is premised on a binary hence is a misnomer but I'll stop now or else the rant will get out of control)

Emotionally honest... they can be, yes. But it really depends on the women involved. I think that's true for Liara and Shepard. They seem to be able to open up to one another, even if it takes a bit of nudging sometimes.

Monogendered I take in a very literal meaning of the word, meaning only one gender. And that would be female. The argument about it not being a lesbian relationship is perfectly fine within the shell of the game world but I'm talking about the way I, as a player, view it. I can only go on my own experiences and views of the world in order to understand it.

Of course, I'm probably more into the pairing because it's actually an example of a female/female relationship depicted in a touching way and not done merely for titilation. It's also treated in the same way as the male/female relationships, which is another bonus. :3
