You will never beat me on movie soundtracks as for games. I have Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: Odst, Halo Reach, Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2, Demon Souls (which came with the game and is diabolical ), InFamous, Nba 2k10, Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 soundtracks !

The track I use for my Tuly inFamous Productions intro on my vids is actually ME2: Grunt 1:32 just I changed the pitch to make it sound cool ^^

I have Assassin's Creed I & II, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Dissidia, DA: O, DA2, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Final Fantasy VII Reunion, Final Fantasy XIII, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1&2, RIFT, Silent Hill Collection (all games), Super Smash Bros., World of Warcraft. 

And that's just what's on my ipod, I have others elsewhere.

This raises a good question: What music do you like to listen to when writing your Liara fan fiction (to all authors here)? :3

I think everything Liara's been through in the current Mass Effect games, the last one, and the events in my story are likely to have aged her, or at least matured her quite a bit. Poor Liara. D:

Generally, I don't listen to music. It distracts me, but then again I'm a guy and can't multitask ;P

If I'm looking for inspiration, normally I listen to the Mass Effect 2 OST, the track depends on the scene that I'm writing ^^

Aye, she may be considered mature for an asari but there's no doubt her experienced have given her wisdom beyond her years. That said, asari stages in life aren't restricted to age alone so it's quite possible she moved into the matron stage early.

@Jugsaw: I like to listen to music when I write, it helps me focus. Particularly if it's fitting for the scene. Trailer music is wonderful for that, I've found. :3

I can't speak for what the author intended, however, when you consider that Liara was rather young during the events of the ME games, her time with Shepard is going to play a large part in her 'growing up'. I mean, the matron stage usually begins at 350 years. Shepard is ~30 in ME1, so Liara/Shepard have about 120 years together. Liara will be ~226 when Shepard dies (plus or minus around 2 standard deviations of human lifespan).

Keep in mind that Liara goes through _a lot_, even without her relationship with Shepard. Having to kill Benezia is going to have a significant effect on Liara. Liara has been through more just during the mission against Saren then most Asari will ever experience. Liara has always been mature beyond her years, however, I expect that losing Shepard will be one of many things that contributes to that.

Regarding the fic: Wow. Damn, you can write emotion far better than I can. The Liara/Medora scenes are excellent.

So now I go back and look at the rough draft of mah fic. Yeah, it sucks.

You see it the same way I do. Poor Liara has been through so much and she's barely touching her matron stage. That will make her an exceedingly strong matriarch, I imagine. 

I'm glad you liked the story! Emotion's tricky and I'm never sure I'm portraying it right since, when I read it over myself, I don't seem to experience it in the same way as any other reader. 

Oh, pfft, I'm sure your writing is good as well. An author's worst critic is usually themselves, after all. >.>

Since people seem keen on me writing about the Shepard household's family life (which is going to have to wait till the fourth chapter), I thought I'd see what other people's views on that might be.

How would the Liara/Shepard dynamic work at home, do you think? Would they fill any kind of predefined family roles? Would Liara take on the more maternal role, while Shepard (FemShep for the sake of this discussion) took on a more traditional paternal role? How do you think a daughter would change their dynamic?

I'm interested in hearing the different views out there. :3

It's funny... although I can imagine the two of them having children and living out their lives together, I can't envision any of the "traditional" (or perhaps I mean mundane) aspects of their future. Perhaps it's because neither of them will ever really have a traditional (or mundane) life, even if they were to get out of the Information Broking/Saving the Galaxy business permanently.

I strongly dislike the idea of either of them taking on traditionally defined gender "roles" as we know them. In my head, both would make loving caretakers, strong disciplinarians, excellent providers, and empathetic parents.
