The eyebrows/pink lips always bothered me in ME1 (the lips are toned down a bit in ME2).

She's an alien. Having weird human features (eyebrows, pink lips) pushes her into what TV tropes would call the 'uncanny valley'.

I mean, she's still beautiful, however, I was very glad when she took off the lipstick in LotSB.

IMHO blue > green.

Agreed. I still think those eyebrows stand out quite a bit, even now. I can understand why BioWare designed her that way, but I guess there will always be picky people like us who'll think "she shouldn't have eyebrows, should she?" in comparison with the people who'll think "she looks weird because she has no eyebrows". >.>

My personal belief is that they're not eyebrows. They're scars, caused by an 'incident' with some old Prothean ruins. Specifically, she got nailed by a fairly focused beam of ionizing radiation.

(There is a story behind this. Hopefully it is somewhat amusing.)

Now, it's stated that the Asari have good cellular regeneration. If they are capable of regenerating cells at a rapid rate, then they must have some sort of protection from genetic mutation, otherwise they would all get cancer. This explains why the Asari have less genetic diversity, as well as why our favorite Prothean archaeologist can get nailed in the face with a beam of gamma rays and not get a brain tumor. She only gets a weird pigment above the eyes where she got hit.

My REAL concern for Liara in ME3 is that they're going to crank up the breast size. BioWare has always been very good about giving her actual clothing to wear. However, I'm hoping that she's not going to end up with gigantic breasts in ME3. (Although, I prefer smaller-breasted women so that's just my opinion)

The reason she had eyebrows, I believe, was because Bioware wanted her to be more relatable as a love interest.

And I agree that she looks better without the lipstick. It gives her a look of beauty without veneer, which fits her character.

And mama got hit with the same radiation?

I'm fine with considering the solid eyebrows a genetic mutation. Most of the other asari have SOME form of eyebrow coloring, even if it's more stylized.

Maybe she just saw pictures of a human woman and decided she liked how the eyebrows looked? That seems a little less convoluted an explanation to me.

And I wouldn't expect her breast size to increase very much. At all, actually. She looks the same as she did in Lair Of The Shadow Broker, the same armor and all.

I'd say that it's just regular facial markings which, to a human observer (the player), look like eyebrows. That's not much of a stretch given that humans frequently tend to see patterns where there are none.

That's quite plausible. I still find it amusing that they look like penciled eyebrows. I find it hard to look beyond that to the logical explanations.

Edited to add: Yes, Alex, it is quite likely. But, at the end of the day, humans made the game so...

1 - yeah she look th same in M3,

2 - Her breast has ALREADY sized in shadowbroker, compare to M1 and M2. Yet, none of you have been embarrassed. You loved so much her change...

I was actually about to post that. Liara did become mroe busty than before.

"EDIT"

Also. Reason why we have not said anything about it is because Liara's outfit/figure is still a far cry from Samara and Miranda (and Benezia for that matter).

It's so obvious. As soon as I read it, I immediately wanted to post, because a little honesty will not hurt.

Very true.

Okay, Jiggy and I are trying to come up with a song that encapsulates what Liara might have been feeling after Shepard's death at the beginning of Mass Effect 2. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Point taken. However, Benezia's soul patch. I can only hope copious amounts of mutagens were involved.

@Centauri - Does it have to have vocals?

Nope, Emmanuel. I was trying to find a melancholic song with fitting vocals but it's difficult. And Jiggy is being a pain about it. *hides* So, throw any suggestions out there. :)

I am replaying the Mass Effect series on the 350 again, maybe I can spot the differences between the Mass Effects on PS and 360. XD I am unsure what I missed here lately, hope everyone been well. I just checked out the details, I am Happy Liara and some characters are back. I am sure other will be too, I am sure they are going to make Mass Effect 3 the best of the best. I am happy Liara is back. ^^ I am unsure what I missed here, I can catch up here. XD

Wooo! Liara confirmed squadmate for ME3!! And from the looks of it she has on her outfit from Shadow Broker, which is a plain awesome outfit of awesomeness.

Would it be incredibly lame to suggest "Will you remember me" ? Just for the uncertainty Liara must have had after handing over the body and the insecurity or possibility of Shep being back but not recognising her as well as the possibility of Shep not coming back at all.

So good to see Liara in game with the LotSB outfit hope it stays that way Posted Image

Edit: I'm using this  for a vid I'm working on of Liara and Shep and picked it for the melancholy.

@Fiddles: Is that April Matson? That's the one I found when I had a quick search. That violin music is definitely melancholic. I can't go stealing the music you're using though, but I'm looking forward to seeing your video. :)

@Anima: It's not lame, it's a good sad song but I unfortunately can only link it with Princess Diana now. D:

Thanks for the suggestions you two, keep 'em coming!

I would've suggested 'Remember Me' by Josh Groban but that would be more from Shep's point of view wouldn't it?

@Centauri: I was thinking of the Sarah McLachlan one for I will remember you.
These are also songs I considered using
            (oddly reminiscent of FFVII)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1ZA6eoraxk

So far as I know Miika is pretty generous so long as you say where you got the music you can use it fairly freely but a message never hurts. Can't think of any non-instrumental ones atm sorry.

@Anima: That would be excellent for a vid from Shepard's perspective. Shall have to keep that in mind for when I pester Jiggy to make another one. ;)

@Fiddles: Sarah McLachlan is the first person I thought of but the song name was different so it threw me off. :P And that violin/piano music is very well composed, I must say. Not sure if any of them are fitting for what I have in mind. Not in my own head anyway. I really wanted something with vocals. Sarah McLachlan has been added to the list though. :)

I'm really no good with picking music to fit a mood. At least, I'm no good at picking music that people haven't heard a million times before. jlb put together a nice video which is more of a tribute to Shepard and Liara's relationship than Shepard's death, but I feel that it hit all the right notes just the same.

Yeah, I've seen it before. I think I favourited it as well. It's very well done and has the kind of tone I was going for. :)
