Firstly, welcome to the forums! ^_^

The video was very nicely done. I particularly liked the interweaving of scenes near the end of it. I've seen the song used in another Liara/FemShep vid I enjoyed but it suits them very well and I love the song so it's not a bad thing. :P

If you make any others, please do share them here. :3

I like your "united by love" banner, Deltaboy. It appeals to my sappy side. >.>

Edited to add: I think this is an apt moment for one of Redemption's butt shots:

Greetings and welcome!

This vid is most excellent...I want to play ME2/LotSB again XD

Also, I believe the youtube embedding feature is disabled on these forums.

Hey, jib, didn't you say (way back yonder in this thread) that you'd read my chapter 1 and let me know what you thought? Yes, I know, I have the memory of an elephant... if somewhat selective. >:3

@jlb: Thanks! I'm glad the embedding wasn't an error on my part that I couldn't get it done, I felt dumb since I couldn't get it to work, lol.

@Fiery: Thanks! Glad you did!

Ah, I'm sorry...my memory is terrible!

I did read it and it was awesome.  The writing was impressive.  I also liked how you structured the story in flashbacks and hit on the key moments of their relationship.  I especially like the part where Shepard bandages Liara and I thought you did a great job writing their first love scene.

I definitely hope you will write more :)

This might seem a bit random but I've been pondering something. After Liara joins the crew, it's clear she doesn't understand human humour. However, by the time LotSB rolls around, she seems to respond to some of it. I'm referring to her "Oh, is it?" line here. My question is: How long do you think it would take her to become accustomed to it? Does she understand it fully two years down the line? When do you think she'll be able to join in the banter?

I have my own ideas but I'd like to see what others think.

How long it would've taken her to get accustomed to human jokes? Probably a long time, but I imagine she could've picked up something while on illium. Work with people for 2 years and you're bound to pick up a few one liners. Also, at the 2nd conversation with Liara she mentions she thought humanity seemed so high strung. Choosing the neutral dialogue option has Shepard ask "has your opinion changed at all?" upon which she states she has already learned a lot about [your people] humans.

Still, Liara's joking and playfull attitude (calling Shepard jealous at Feron and asking him to do something about it, as well as her 'oh is it' remark in the cabin scene would be considered playfull in my book) didn't show up until Lotsb. But it is possible she hid that part of her (like so many others) until her hunt for the shadow broker was over.

@Rob: Yeah, she's learned something about humans by then but I think humour is one of those subtleties she can't pick up on from data. Experience would be the best teacher, methinks. Of course, I think she'll pick up something from Shepard in the month she spends with her before her death. After that point, I'm not sure how often she'll spend with other humans in her hunt for Shepard's body and then the Shadow Broker.

I only ask because I'm trying to judge how she'll react to humour within that month between the end of ME1 and Shepard's death. I think she'll recognise it but not be experienced enough to banter back. She certainly seems to have flirting down pretty well by LotSB though. :P

Yes that was great, although one must wonder where she picked up the skills of flirting where she had none in ME1. For now though, let's just say she picked that up in the month before Shepard's death.

Don't put doubts into my mind, Rob! You'll make my poor Shepard paranoid.

Yes, we'll definitely put that down to their time spent together. That is all. I refuse to acknowledge any other possibilties!

I imagine that in the few months after Ilos, she and Shepard spent a fair amount of time together, and that certainly would have helped.  Her being social on Illium - even in a somewhat limited capacity since she's an Information Broker - would also have developed her social skills.

My own personal headcanon has a rather flirty, sociable asari befriending her on Illium and actually helps get her started on the road to taking down the Shadow Broker (eventually getting taken out by Nyxeris, secretly, of course).  Obviously the personality rubs off on Liara a little bit, even though we don't see it much, if at all, in the beginning.

Short answer - she's a freaking genius, so it wouldn't take her that long to learn ANYTHING!

I like that answer. I'm going to apply that to everything!

Oh, and the rest makes sense too. >.> I want to know more about this mysterious flirty asari now.

Agreed.  She could atleast be able to relate to Shepard 's personality, and maybe some of the original Normandy crew, just by being around them.  It's easy to find the little nuances in a person's personality by spending a little time with them, and they had months together.

As far as the flirty side, after the trip to Ilos, I assume (in my headcanon) that they spent more time together, rooming together most nights as well.  During that time, they probably were able to discuss their likes/dislikes and deepen the bond between them.  With their growing relationship comes the playful banter and nicknames, etc....

She may not be the best at a flirty retort with some people, but I'm guessing that she knows how to get to Shepard.

Apparently they only had a month together, but I think that's long enough. And I like the thought that she's not become good at flirting, that she just knows how to press Shepard's buttons. Hadn't thought of it like that before. :3

Actually there's a discussion I've been wanting to have on this thread. And that's about Liara's flaws. We're always singing her praises but, like any good character, she has faults.

The one that pops into my head first and foremost is her tendency to focus completely on one thing. This can be seen as both a good and a bad thing though. The first example of this is her obsession with the Protheans. Later, she turns that kind of behaviour on the Shadow Broker. I wonder if this will be a pattern she continues to repeat in her life.
