Of course. However, Liara does state that every relationship is different, and that some asari will part ways with their partner after a single encounter, and entering the asari union. Some asari may adopt this attitude towards all relationships, regardless of the species of their partner. As a result, they would raise their children alone, and as a single parent.
Benezia obviously does not fall into this category, as her seperation from Aethyta is obviously something that caused her a great deal of distress, indicating that she wished for her relationship to be more long-term and that she keenly feels Aethyta's absence.
I'm not asserting that an asari/asari relationship is one that is more likely to be a single encounter, or that it does not possess the longevity of other asari relationships. I'm merely suggesting that some will adopt this attitude toward all relationships, regardless of her partner's species. As a result, maintaining contact with the extended family is something that is highly unlikely, which is what I believe the original point was.
