I'm hoping that nobody is unavoidably killable in ME3, but I don't think that should mean that anybody is immune to being killed off - Liara included.

Edit - TotP Liara

I'm going to be paranoid about getting Liara killed all the way through ME3 now. I'm going to love it! >:3

And I should have known there'd be a dansen picture for Mass Effect.

I thought it was cute. I knew it was a style, but I didn't know it had a name.

It's cute yes. I think the craze originated from a song called Caramelldansen. I've seen it done for a lot of anime and it's just spread since. >.>

ETA:  There it is, if you're interested. ;)

Ha! Well now I feel like an out-of-touch old man, like when my family links funny videos that have been on the web for months and they're only JUST NOW finding out about them. >.>

If it makes you feel any better, I would never hear of these things if I weren't bombarded with links from people I know. My girlfriend was responsible for exposing me to both this and Rebecca Black. Some things I can just live without. >.>

I've mercifully been able to avoid listening to that song. Hopefully I can hold out until it fades from the collective consciousness.

Here's a palette cleanser:

I have a horrible feeling it's going to be around for some time yet. >.>

Ah, thank you, that's much better! I think I may require a bit more cleansing though. >:3

Well, it's crossed mediums from YouTube to iTunes to Stephen Colbert. I think if it hits CNN we can officially declare the meme 'dead'.

ETA - Here, more delicious Liara sorbet!

I'm pretty sure it died off in late 2010 if I'm not correct, I don't see any more videos of caramelldansen, need less to say look how cute Liara looks in that pic!  Tali looks okay too I guess.

I was actually referring to Rebecca Black, that one went insanely viral and is still going strong, sadly.

Liara does look adorable, yes. ^_^

ETA: Thanks, Marshal! <3 Yes, palette cleansing. Right... >.>

Oh yeah Rebecca Black, have you heard her newest song prom night? I swear it is worse than Friday, no joke. Even though her songs are really terrible, I don't think she deserves to be messaged by people who want her to die, people are freaks.

Oh, hell no. I'm not going to willingly search her songs out. :P No doubt I'll have it linked to me at some point though.

There's no excuse for messages like that. She didn't write the songs and who could blame her for putting her voice to them? She's just a little girl with a dream of becoming famous.

And to keep this on-topic: What do you think Liara dreamed of becoming when she was a little asari?

Well I sure don't know, but what I do know is that she never wanted to be what her mother was, a powerful leader. I think she always was fascinated by the protheans even at a very young age. Do you have any ideas what she wanted to be?

It's very difficult to say. There must have been a point in her life where she was introduced to the Prothean culture in some way, either through a history entry or an artifact. But she must have had hopes and dreams before then as well. It seems likely that it would have had been something that was like a polar opposite to what her mother was.

Or maybe she just wished for some dashing hero to come whisk her away from her looming responsibilities.

On the thought of a teeny tiny Liara makes me smile!  :D

I don't know what Liara may have wanted to do when she was very little.  She explains the fascination with the Protheans as being a result of rebelling against her mother, who as a matriarch is always looking forward.  So instead, she looked toward the past  (although maybe I've been reading too much fanfiction, as I can't even remember if that conversation happens in ME1...)

Would asari even have a concept of "what they want to do when they grow up"?  I mean, when they can afford to dance in a bar for a century or more, one's career choice seems almost trivial.  I imagine most older asari have several degrees, having likely changed career paths dozens of times.

I want to see cute li'l Liara fan art now. >.>

It's true that they may not have the same way of viewing career as us, but they must still have hopes for the future. Even if it was just for Liara to be somewhere else. She must have envisioned a better place, a better time, a better her.

There was a conversation like that, not to worry. :P

I have memory of the conversation, and I rarely read fanfiction(I'm not saying I don't like your guy's writings, they are truly magnificent, especially yours Marshal.) speaking of Liara's career, why did she become an information breaker again? Did have something to do with the SB?

She became an information broker in order to track down the Shadow Broker, yes.

It was a curious choice, and I often wonder why she chose to become that which she was tracking down...  Like, at what moment did she begin thinking "This.  THIS is the way to get close to the Shadow Broker!"

It would be interesting to explore her reasons. Perhaps I'll touch on it with an extra scene in my second chapter. >.>

I think it's not an entirely large leap to choose to work as an information broker. She'd be travelling in similar circles as the SB's agents so she'd be more likely to cross paths with them. If that was more likely, then that would increase her chances of finding information on where he was. Or perhaps she simply reasoned she'd need to become the beast in order to track the beast.

ETA: Also, as she says, collating information isn't all that different to the analysis involved in archaeology. The setting is just different. Instead of pouring over age old evidence, you're sifting through recent data.

I think Liara had something to prove as she was growing up she wanted to be different to Benezia and sought her own direction.

I knew there was a piece out there of a young Liara.
