I must say that actually looks like her, what a great find ;]

Thanks ^^
If I could find the artist I'd post a link.

Liara seems really focused at this stage in ME but I get the feeling that when Shep eventually dies she'll want to do something drastically different, what though I have no idea. Probably not mercenary work but then again there's nothing like high powered projectiles to keep you focused Posted Image

I imagine she'll probably want to do something that keeps her mind off of things. So something action orientated wouldn't be far fetched. That's if her responsibilities allow her, that is. I'm expected she'll have at least one child by then and she may even have had to take on diplomatic responsibilities. Although, those could probably be easily avoided. There's the matter of if she's still the SB too.

I imagine she's gonna have a fair amount of infamy by the end of ME3, even if nobody found out about her role as the Shadow Broker. I don't know that I necessarily see her in a political role, particularly at such a young age.

I was thinking more as a figurehead or a face of a diplomatic arm of the asari. She'll have been a part of the team that saved the galaxy several times. I imagine some people might want to use that kind of publicity. I'm thinking that by the time Shepard dies, she may be taken a bit more seriously by the other asari.

What kind of role would that be, though?  I mean, diplomacy for the Council races seems pretty straight-forward.  Not sure how they handle interactions with non-Council races, or even non-Council matters.

Also, what, we're looking at ~120 years until Shepard passes (assuming a 150 year lifespan as set forth in the codex)?  That would still put Liara just over 200 years old, which isn't even the typical "matron" stage of life.  Though I imagine that'll have set in early 'cause of all the sexin's her and Shepard will be having in order to have little blue babies.  :D

Clearly, I haven't given this that much thought! :P

I don't know, I shall ponder it and get back to you. If I come up with something that sits comfortably within the lore.

Ahaha, yes I imagine she'll be gently nudged firmly thrust into matronhood quite early. >.>

*timer goes off*
Shepard:  Alright!  Time to get to work!
Liara: *sighs*  Again?  You did not set that alarm for two hours...
Shepard: You know the deal!  I want babies before I'm old enough to be a grandmother!  Now take off them clothes!  *grins wickedly*

No!! I'm like 80% done with my last chapter of A Good Night!

I promise, I'll do a little 'palette cleanser' one-shot of that once I finish up with this story! I want to get it out before the end of April so I can start on my next one!

That is the next story!  :D  I've gotta start putting together a plot outline for it.  I've got a few key points in mind, but there's a whole lotta in-between stuff that I know I haven't thought of yet.

Being the daughter of Benezia has advantages and disadvantages. Benezia's political status, as well as her beliefs regarding increased Asari involvement in intragalactic politics brought Liara across the galaxy. Liara generally traveled with Benezia - since Benezia raised Liara alone. Liara grew up dealing mostly with adults, which advanced her sense of maturity. However, between this and being a pureblood asari, she was never comfortable dealing with youth of her own age.

Liara entertained with a quest for knowledge. Gifted with great intelligence, she pursued her quest for knowledge with an almost Nietzchian determination. As she grew older, she developed a thirst for intellectual adventure. She admired the great Asari scientists and philosophers of the days gone by - and longed for the ability to make new discoveries. Prothean archaeology was a natural choice - The Protheans were the foundation of modern galactic society. The Protheans were an immense influence on Galactic society, yet so little was known about them. Understanding the fate of the Protheans and their society was one of the great unsolved riddles posing modern galactic civilization.

Prothean civilization was more than just applied element zero. The culture, the government needed to maintain a galactic-scale empire would serve as a powerful role model. However, Liara and Benezia did not see eye to eye on this. Benezia felt that the Asari should make their own path - no matter what. Benezia felt the Asari be more than just the historians and diplomats of the galaxy. And, she was not alone. Benezia found supporters among the Matriarchs. One of them was Matriarch Aeythia. However, the relationship turned sour. Benezia's path was respected by many. However, her support was far from unanimous. Some challenged Benezia's vision, accusing her of working to subvert the Asari balance of power - they attacked Benezia, saying that a stronger Asari presence would weaken the city-state structure that had dominated Asari politics.

Ironically, though Liara did not wish to be seen as a leader of the Asari, she faced many of the same problems. The Asari government favored locality. While finding the relics of the Prothean civilization generally led to important technological advancements, there was little support for the large-scale survey projects that would be necessary to recover more Prothean technology. As a student and research, Dr. Liara T'Soni made important advances in the study of the Protheans - focusing on deciphering the Prothean language. However, as she gained prominence as a Prothean expert, she became more disillusioned with Asari society. While Benezia looked out and saw a society that refused to unify, refused to stand together to increase their power, Liara looked in and saw a society that refused to investigate their roots, that squandered the potential for large-scale technological advancement.

Although Liara and Benezia agreed on the problems that the Asari faced, they disagreed on a guiding philosophy. Liara preferred the search for knowledge - she felt that growth was only possible after sustained intellectual effort. Cultural development was necessarily intertwined with intellectual development, for a great civilization must have a strong philosophical foundation. Benezia's beliefs focused on real-world political power. Benezia's ideas were something a human leader named Bismark would call 'realpolitik'. Benezia was focused on a common Asari message to the other civilizations of the galaxy.

[IMHO].
