Oh, and I created the group. I'll add pictures and whatnot to it later. Blue Brigade.

So far, this is my favorite "disapproving" face for Liara.

I do remember these conversations and have even picked the Renegade options but I still don't recall Liara crying or getting terribly upset (Shepard just looks like a jerk if anything).

That's the one. She doesn't cry, but you definitely hurt her feelings. Keep hitting renegade, and hit "Don't try to study me!" instead of the "I'm fascinating?" response. You won't get the "joking" response.

No she becomes defensive and rather vocal if you pick that option if I remember it right (but maybe that was the 'you're obsessed' option. She definately doesn't like you saying that). Only pressed the renegade options once, just to see what would happen.

Ummm... as someone who romanced Liara but "ended" the romance in ME2 (mostly for RP reasons), I didn't think the conversation was that douchey. =/
And fwiw, I played as M!Shepard. I didn't see anything facepunch worthy about it, but ymmv.
I think it's just the back-and-forth that goes on which bugs me.
1. Kisses Liara after the SB fight
2. Walks away without talking about 'them'
3. Opts to remain friends when Liara asks if he wants to continue the relationship
4. Invites her back for drinks
5. Calls it a date
Any 2-3 of those would be alright, but all 5 just strike me as wishy-washy and kind of dickish.
Wanna break it off? Fine, but don't beat around the bush, and don't string her along. Not saying you did any of those things, I'm talking to blondie in the vid.

Thanks. My (very very small) company makes logos and stuff, mostly just Mass Effect videos though. :L
I like yours as well.
In a way, it leaves things open for the possibility that Shepard *could*
get back together with Liara in ME3, depending on how things play out
there.

No, I agree, all 5 of those is wishy-washy and dickish. Which my Shepard never did (or will do, as I'm almost done with my Hardcore PT of LotSB at the moment). And I wouldn'tve called it a date either, but that's just me.
The way I saw it, was that Liara was still in shock over Shepard's return. Rushing back into a relationship with someone who's been legally dead for two years to me seemed unhealthy for both (again, my perception of things), so the chance to have a mutual 'Let's be friends' option -that doesn't necessarily terminate the relationship, full stop. Last I checked, her picture is still facing up on Shep's desk- was a good option. No tears, no drama and certainly no cheating. Win-win for everyone, really.

Granted, I've had a ton of head canon in mind for this Shep and I'd actually plotted a similar 'Let's be friends' moment long before LotSB, so I've probably interpreted things differently.
Now for the ultimate dickery, it would be cheating on her, stringing her along in LotSB, getting back with her and then subsequently banging one of the 6 LIs afterward. Oooo.
And fwiw, I do like Liara, so yeah.
I'm curious how they're going to handle all the variants for Liara's relationship in ME3. I'm personally just hoping for a bondmate ceremony DLC at some point

I can see that. And honestly, the "Let's be friends" line actually plays out more like a "We'll take things slowly" line, which if someone is thinking of rekindling the romance without jumping right back into it (kind of a foreign concept to me, personally), works pretty well.
