I was talking with Jib last night about this that I would personally love that during the final romance scene Liara is trying to tell Shepard how much she loves her but is stumbling then you can do a paragon interrupt where Shepard says she knows and she loves Liara then kisses her. I would squee if Liara and Shepard finally expressed there love to each other, but it has to be done well. It just can't be "oh ya I love you, let's make out." It needs to have emotion.
that would probably induce my first ever squee. I would absolutely love for this to happen.

So before they would write any parallel romance or friendship paths, they should and probably will make sure that the main romance path is as well written as it should be.
I agree. I don't know how much extra work it would take to write a new romace path, though. I would imagine most Liara dialog in ME3 will have to do with the mission. A few extra options will then be added for those that romanced her (I hope). These options may be a bit different if you didn't romance her before.
I guess it also depends on how many new characters/new LIs they will be adding. It coulc be that Liara (and Ashley/Kaidan) are planned to be some of the new ME3 romance options, which may mean there won't be many new ones.

Yes, most definitely!
That would be adorable.
It should be something memorable and not your typical love declaration.

As she's likely to be one of the game's central characters, and I think her entry into the story will be predetermined, I think she'll enjoy a substantially greater amount of content when compared to that of ME1, as she will be present throughout the duration of the story. This was obviously merely optional in ME1, and I believe that the amount of dialogue that was written for her suffered as a result. Consequently, there will be a greater amount of conversations with Liara as the romance progresses, and her character itself also develops.
I really am genuinely looking forward to Liara's romance and character development in ME3. I can't wait!

That would be great indeed, just the conclusion of the romance needs to be completely different and much better than that disgraceful final scene that they forced upon Kelly.
Well, poor Kelly didn't even get a legit romance scene...just that strange cabin dancing call up thingy.
I'm certain a major LI like Liara will get a full-blown romance scene at the end.

However, this romance path should differ from one that was initiated in ME1, and it should not be implemented at the expense of an existing Liara romance. If that were the case, I'd be satisfied with Liara being unavailable to new players.

I hope it will differ however from ME1 romancers.
But thinking about the first kiss between Liara and Shep in the wake off the final battle..or on the actual battlefield...would be kinda awesome.

I wish that I had picked up ME2 (and of course ME1) before LotSB came out. I was halfway through ME2 when I learned about it and downloaded/played through it immediately. I was actually already on Ilium at the time and had just finished Liara's quests, so it technically "fit", but I think it would have been more gratifying if I had already done the SM. Now I'm gonna have to deal with receiving that message and then sitting on it until after I beat the collectors...
It's incredibly tempting to go reunite with Liara, and give her the data ASAP, huh?
For RP purposes, I pretend that my Shepard does not receive the email until after the conclusion of the suicide mission. As my Shepard will always destroy the base and sever all ties with Cerberus, I like to imagine that EDI sends Shepard the data after she intercepts a transmission between Shadow Broker agents. It fits surprisingly well, given the fact that the email is not sent by TIM himself.
I'm yet to have Liara explain the story behind her rescuing Shepard's body from the Shadow Broker at the beginning of LotSB, as I always finish the Observer sidequest. I think I'll do things differently when I next play through ME2.
I couldn't remember WHO sent the message. I figured it wouldn't be anyone from Cerberus, since that would have been a little odd... (By the way, thought you might like some helpful info for your friend! Hope she likes it! xoxo)
I'll have to remember the bit about the observer side quest in my next play through.

Potentially the greatest and most touching scene in the Mass Effect trilogy thus far? I certainly think so. Even now, I'm captivated whenever I watch it.

Mass effect have alot of great moments. But this scene is just the best, it also makes up for two things ME2 failed at. Make Shepard a human being and lots of Liara.

Agreed. Liara's character development finally received the clarification and explanation it required, the romance was continued and developed in a beautiful way, and Shepard was able to lower her emotional barriers, and confide in Liara. Beautiful.

I hope that scene is beaten by another in ME3, though
Oh yeah! Possible bondmate ceremony prior to the climatic final battle?

I watched that a couple of times last night while working on the new femshep face. I still had to sit here and watch that vid.

No offence. But I dislike the "background" art you used. The offical art thingy for LOTSB just doesn't look great at all.

Still, the signatures are excellent, and it certainly doesn't hurt to display them!
