A good reason behind her behavior? Maybe, but I still think it's perfectly justified displaying som disbelief and concern when she tells Shepard that she had spendt her last two years getting revenge.

My Shepard had faith in Liara and their bond! She was confused, sure, and a little upset but she just knew they'd be able to work things out. She knew there was a good reason behind Liara's behaviour, even if she didn't know what that reason was.

I wonder if I'd be RP-ing it differently if I'd had to 'make peace' with how Liara was acting on Illium without the assistance of LotSB or Redemption. I got to Illium, and then the NEXT DAY I purchased LotSB, so the 'dust' never settled on that whole encounter for me. I RP that whole bit as something that's very difficult to get through, and it takes several weeks before my Shepard is able to even put it behind her, which she feels she needs to do because there are too many people counting on her for her to worry about personal attachments.

I remember the first time I talked to her on Illium: I felt confused and maybe a little hurt that she was so cold and unpersonable.
I then had a thought. Bioware was doing this for one of 2 reasons.
1. It was simply poorly done (Like the VS on Horizon)
2. It was poorly done but they were going to fix it with a major DLC.
I am glad it was the second one.

"If you werent faithful, thats going to come to a head at the worst possible time"
Anyone else getting concerned by this line? Sounds like Liara might suddenly go axe crazy and do something that will undermine the war effort because Shepard moved on. Despite handling it pretty maturely in LOTSB. <_<

I believe an uppance is a-comin!
I am VERY interested to see how they're going to handle the 'unfaithful'. Not so interested as to try it out myself, mind you...

Hey, it ain't gonna be my Liara!

Doesn't matter. Her having the possibility of doing something stupid and petty like that is insulting to the character we know.

I also felt confused and hurt the first time I played through the game, given how cold and distant she acted. Even through I got the "I couldn't let you go" I still had this sense of "Is there anything left? Are things over between Liara and Shepard?" I even gave in to temptation and tried to romance Samara (made a save before I did it through!). ME2 maingame did definetly feel like Shepard's lonely chapter.
When I got the picture scene however, my faith in Liara was restored 100%.
With the release of Arrival, I am trying to decide whether to put it before or after the suicide mission and LotSB for my head-canon. It would totally fit my Shepard for him to leave after their initial reunion, go on a crazy-ass suicide mission, then find out the Reapers are coming and not think twice about killing 300,000 batarians for the greater good because he's reverted to his pre-Liara personality.PMC65 wrote...

Grunt has Liara to thank for his being released.
After Shep's encounter with Liara the 1st time on Illium, Shep was confused and really hurt. So she went straight back to the Normandy, downed half a bottle of whiskey in her cabin, started to really steam about Liara's coldness and thought, "I'll show you Ms T'Soni!"
She stormed down to Grunt's tank, stood in front of that tank seeing Liara in place of Grunt and set the krogan loose. I know, crazy.
Once Grunt dropped out of the tank though, Shep quickly sobered up and thought "Crap!"

How did your Shepard manage to mistake Grunt for Liara?

Half a bottle of Batarian Whiskey! Damn those batarians!

I tink that Shepard was almost half hoping that the tank-bred krogan would beat her to death ... a suicidal moment, maybe. But once the tank opened and Grunt was freed.
