Soooo much blue *swoons*
So I was wondering what people think Liara's role in Asari society might be when she hits the matriarch stage? Granted the specifics of Asari culture hasn't been covered in great detail but can you see her being a Matriarch like Benezia, someone who's duitiful and works for the betterment of the Asari. Would she be more supportive of other races? Or would she argue for the Aethyta angle, war is inevitable so it's best to prepare for it?
I'm not convinced Liara would go back to Asari society at all but if she was to become an important matriarch I think she'd argue more for Aethyta point of view than Benezia's perspective.

I think we're of a mind on her being more action/defence focused for the Asari despite non-blue asses. I hope that she'd have a more encompassing view than other Asari and hopefully a soft spot for humans in general. I can see her being wise but also seems just as likely she'd forego it all for something else.Robhuzz wrote...
I suppose it depends a great deal on how the asari come out of the reaper wars (for lack of a better name, although reaper wars sounds rather cool to me). We all know (of course) that when Aethyta gave her opinion about how to change asari society the blue was laughed of her ass, so current date asari would probably not be able to change at all.
After the wars, I'm guessing the humans being "Creatures of action, you pursue goals with an almost indomitable determination" as stated by the lovely dr. T'soni will take a ruling position in the galaxy. The Asari however, with their long term look on the galaxy will probably have a lot of difficulty just adapting to losing many colonies, people and their leading role in the galaxy. I think a strong alternate opinion (possibly by Aethyta or Liara) would be needed at this time to pull the Asari through.
Okay I went off topic there, so back to your original question: We've all seen in ME2 and Lotsb that Liara prefers action over talk now, much like Aethyta. Being no typical Asari and very mature for her age (I dare say it almost appears as if she's skipped the entire maiden stage and went straight to the matron stage, at least mentally) I think Liara as a matriarch would be a lot more like Aethyta than Benezia in terms of her view on asari society and the way it should evolve.

Got a new photo for Liara
Something of my make
The 3rd picture on the bottom row is from a ME3 concept picture right? Is it just me or have Liara's looks gone down since Lotsb?

But I wonder what the earliest age is for Asari to enter the matriarch stage?

Yes, Liara, you make good use of those skin pigmentations!

According to the OXM. Liara leaves her role as the SB to help you in ME3.
I am not sure what to think of this. Kinda renders LOTSB moot...

I think the key question is when does she leave it? If it's half way through the game then I don't mind so much. Besides, I want Liara at Shepard's side eventually.

True. But I got a feeling that it's relativly early.

I would be surprised if it's near the beginning of the game. The set-up surrounding her take over as Shadow Broker was just too involved for it to be squandered like that. But, stranger things have been known to happen, I suppose.

True enough. From a game play perspective I'd agree with you, Lizard. From a story perspective, it doesn't seem to make sense though. But consistency in storytelling in games isn't the highest priority. >.>

Lair was meant to conclude the Redemption arc, which it did, for good or ill.

Execpt it also heavily foreshadows or sets up Liara becoming an important character in that she will directly assist Shepard in stopping the Reapers using her network. Which is why I feel it will be a waste just to throw "Liara is the SB" out of the window.
Lord Zeuss wrote...
Maybe that's why she has to leave? There are other ways the Network might help than Liara telling Shepard which aftershave Councilor Velarn uses. I might even have a theory that the Network has to be destroyed in order to frustrate the Reapers (think of it: a near-omniscient library of every secret in the galaxy--you don't think the Reapers would have a purpose for it?). Liara may have been put into the position (story-wise) so she will be able to put the torch to the whole thing when the Reapers come calling. There really are a lot of ways it could make sense.
