I don't think I've ever been so horrified by a video game reaction as that one. I still feel awful when I think about it. 

I know.  I do remember playing once to try the alt options (I was curious), and they are horrid.

I think it's supposed to represent that Liara is saying goodbye to another person she cares deeply about, that's all.

This. My Shepard who romanced Ash gave her a hug and was nice to her, when he leaves the base and she looks at the screen them usic plays, it has notihng to do with being rude or whatnot. What happens if you refuse to let her up to your cabin, I don't know, nor will I ever know.

Thinking about how sad these moments can be with Liara or how much they bring out the inner fanboy/girl in us I realize something.



The animators did a VERY good job in body language and facial expressions with her.

They did, whether happy/sad/frustrated/angry her facial animations convey the emotion very well.

I can go along with Jack, but Miranda has some weird looks. Really a shame considering how good looking Yvonne Strahovski is.

Well, first there's the suspense music that plays at the end if you didn't romance her. My guess it seems to hint that Liara as Shadow Broker might be something to worry about. But if you romance her, this doesn't happen. And if you don't show any kind of concern, the dialogue is a bit different, and a little more business with a hint of friendship. And if as a friend you tell her she can't visit you, I heard there's a bad or sad reaction to it (I really don't want to see it, to be honest).

And you don't have to be just friends to get this scene either.  You can pretty much rip out her heart and stomp on it if you so choose. I did the scene once just out of curoeity sake and it is quite sad.

Miranda has her moments, good and bad. When she's flustered after the kiss or when she makes you say you're not going to die on her she does a pretty good job. And when you tell her that it wouldn't be so bad to let Oriana know she has a sister!

Unfortunately these get a little overshadowed by gratuitous booty shots...

I haven't seen her romance yet so I can't comment on that. But some of her mouth movements remind me of how Hermey the Misfit Elf's mouth moves.

Honestly, much like the movie, I'm a little worried if they go as far as a bondmate ceremony in ME3. I'd be really worried that they wouldn't do it exactly as I would like it, and it wouldn't feel right.



Then again, they managed to do a Liara reunion quite well, so maybe I'll reserve judgment for now.

im kinda worried, my first full ME1/2 playthrough, i romanced Liara, then in ME2, i got LotSB out of the way quick, still with her, then got with Tali, so im wondering if that will come back to haunt me.



though in my mind, shepard should be like 'biatch you live for a 1000 years, cut me some slack im here for 80/90 if im lucky' thats my renegade playthrough.



Im working through my paragon (trying not to fall asleep) as a femshep, as im planning on letting kaiden die (due to ashly dying in my maleshep playthrough). Ill stay loyal to Liara on that playthrough lol will still get a dance from kelly though

That's the friendship path though. I'm talking about not showing any care at all.

I have no speculation on what Bioware might do with it. My head canon says if my Sheps make it out alive they grab Liara and run, find someplace nice to settle down and let the galaxy forget about them. At least my renegades would. My paragon might be willing to enter into the politcal realm but only if Liara agreed that was the proper course.

also... I was watching a few ME1 Liara videos to get her speech down right as I touch off the next chapter of my fan fic. I was thinking thank god for whoever uploaded all these! and i checked the user and low and behold...

Ideally, they should show both. But what you described would in my opinion be the perfect ending for ME 3.

If "Marry Me" were to appear on the dialogue wheel at some point, I think I'd squeal with happiness. Given the fact that Shepard is the person who suggests it at the end of LotSB, I'd imagine that she would be the one who would propose to Liara, possibly during a particularly emotional and intimate scene between the two.

Alternatively, and like Mr. House suggested, the bondmate proposal could be prompted via a Paragon interrupt, and Shepard would do so as means of reassuring Liara during an emotionally charged scene, similar to how she passionately kisses Liara at the end of LotSB.

Argh, I really cannot wait for ME3...I'm so optimistic.

What Les said! There would be definite squeeing going in my house if that would come to pass. Oh, wait, not if, but when... Also optimistic. Overly so.

Though apart of me wants to do the proposing, I'd be interested if Liara does the proposal, since if you're a male shepard, I'd find that more interesting.

LET, have you ever done any Renegade playthroughs? And to the rest here, would it be realistic for Liara to fall for a staunch Renegade? She seems much more Paragonish to me...

I consider Liara a paragade, more so in LotSB. Personally I have a hard time believing she would love a pure renegade and she would have a hard time with a pure paragon. This is just me /Paragade here
