That certainly falls in line with the ME team's view that interspecies romances are more believable/acceptable than homosexual ones.

That's the ME team for ya.

Femshep can pick a dialog option when Liara ask if she is interested in her where she states "how can you and I have a relationship? We're both women." what's interesting is that the Maleshep version is where he states that she is an alien. Meaning that Femshep was less concered over that Liara was an alien, but that they were both women/female.

That certainly falls in line with the ME team's view that interspecies romances are more believable/acceptable than homosexual ones.

But as previously stated, Bioware has not taken the femshep/liara relationship down a "teenage boy" fantasy either. I think that they have treated the relationship with as much care as they have other relationships. Now the day that Liara shows up in the cabin and behaving like Kelly ..... Posted Image

If they had a problem with homosexual relationships they could just have made the Asari available to Male Shep which may have made their life much, much easier. Thank goodness that Liara is open to both Shep!

The two different questions show that they are not treating male shep & female shep the same, which we have asked for. She might be more concerned about the female thing ... Male shep, nope. It would have seemed weird to me that the question wasn't asked.

If it wasn't in the game, I could hear people say that it wasn't there because Bioware won't admit that there is a female/female option ... Bioware denial even in-game. It really is a no-win situation. Posted Image

A promising tweet from Chudson. Question courtesy of catabuca.

@CaseyDHudson Why can fShep identify as gay and pursue a relationship appropriate to that orientation when mShep can't? A double standard?

Valid questions, and ones that we're discussing internally. Much yet to be revealed regarding #ME3

Nope, which is a good thing....they haven't done that with any of their f/f romances.

I think that's the beef...they won't admit it as a f/f romance...not that they have a problem with doing them.

Part of me doesn't care what BioWare says, I'm still going to consider my Shepard as a lesbian and as her relationship with Liara as a same sex one. But part of me is also irked by their constant denial of these facts. They manage to portray a same sex romance in a tasteful and, above all, equal way and yet they refuse to refer to it as such. Come on, BioWare, let us have this one.

My FemShep goes for the heart, not the gender.
But that tends to be with females.
And by females I mean Liara because in my eyes she is truly "female".
On top of that, mind****ing must be quite intense.
So, liara being female + melding(the best sex ever that intensifies everything) + the ability to have children with ANOTHER female...Yeah, I love Liara. :P

I don't need Bioware to define that relationship for me ... Maybe that is where I am having the disconnect.

As long as it is in-game and treated with respect that is all I require. As far as Bioware discussing on gaming interviews, my concern is that if they make it a selling-point then the relationship would then potentially get tweeked to feed the "mass buyer". Posted Image

Now I do feel for the players who want at least 1 male option for their male Shep. Maybe they can give them Garrus ... you know, do a Tali "I've always loved you" thing .... Posted Image

okay.... that could lead to something very good..... or very bad, like removing Liara as romance option for femshep
i choose to remain positive though

I'm fairly certain that would never happen. There would be hell to pay from a lot of fans if they went that route. Besides, they'd be all but admitting to FemShep and Liara's status as a same sex romance then. >.>

I'm going to remain somewhat optimistic. Even if no m/m content is introduced for those that play MaleShep, I hope they'll treat the fans with some respect and give us some answers. ^_^

I took it as them discussing the possibility of adding a m/m romance for Shepard, not removing the Liara one.  Though, that would be one way to even out things and remove the double standard.  However, I think Casey mentioned that the Liara romance would continue on for both.

I agree...I guess it's just the principle of it, or something.

They wouldn't do that. They know how many people decided to choose that path.

Pretty much this for my FemShep.  Her first love was a girl.  When that went south (big-time) she sought out non-relationships with guys before swearing off relationships entirely.  Then along came Liara.  Whatever gender, I think she would have been taken with Liara.

I always like to say that she's not 'into' asari, she's 'into' Liara.

After reading your fanfic I must say that your FemShep is pretty much like a twin of mine. :)

Nice enough movie. I always wanted to make my own Mass effect tribute with that that song. I just don't have any movie-making programs.

Lizard, ol' buddy, ol' pal, I have to say - you're terrible at giving compliments! :P That's not a criticism, just an amused observation. ;)

The transitioning was perfectly timed with the music, I found. I especially liked the reaper scene.

Hehe no worries, Lizard. Most of us know you in here and we know nothing negative is meant by it! I have to say it took me a few posts to get used to it but it was obvious that was just how you gave compliments, in your own way. ;)

Out of curiosity (and the question is related, I swear) what region are you from?

Back on-topic: I just noticed another tweet (not sure how old it is) saying Shep's emotional depth and history will be explored a bit more in ME3. This might mean more meaningful conversations with LIs. I really do hope to see more touching moments between Liara and Shepard. ^^

Nice work, JIGs, loved the action, and the song was a good choice. I noticed that Shepard likes the company of a very specific mobile platform and a vigilante. ^_^

I hail from the frozen norths of Denmark. Which means I am a christian protestant. Althrough I don't see how this is related to my negative attitude.

Casey Hudson did say that we will have more of a WW2 "Will we even survive this?" thinbg going on between Shepard and his/her LI. Along with a "What will the world be like once this is over?".
