That certainly falls in line with the ME team's view that interspecies romances are more believable/acceptable than homosexual ones.
That's the ME team for ya.

Femshep can pick a dialog option when Liara ask if she is interested in her where she states "how can you and I have a relationship? We're both women." what's interesting is that the Maleshep version is where he states that she is an alien. Meaning that Femshep was less concered over that Liara was an alien, but that they were both women/female.
That certainly falls in line with the ME team's view that interspecies romances are more believable/acceptable than homosexual ones.
@CaseyDHudson Why can fShep identify as gay and pursue a relationship appropriate to that orientation when mShep can't? A double standard?
Valid questions, and ones that we're discussing internally. Much yet to be revealed regarding #ME3

But as previously stated, Bioware has not taken the femshep/liara relationship down a "teenage boy" fantasy either.

If they had a problem with homosexual relationships they could just have made the Asari available to Male Shep which may have made their life much, much easier. Thank goodness that Liara is open to both Shep!
The two different questions show that they are not treating male shep & female shep the same, which we have asked for. She might be more concerned about the female thing ... Male shep, nope. It would have seemed weird to me that the question wasn't asked.
If it wasn't in the game, I could hear people say that it wasn't there because Bioware won't admit that there is a female/female option ... Bioware denial even in-game. It really is a no-win situation.

I think that's the beef...they won't admit it as a f/f romance...not that they have a problem with doing them.

Nope, which is a good thing....they haven't done that with any of their f/f romances.PMC65 wrote...

okay.... that could lead to something very good..... or very bad, like removing Liara as romance option for femshep
i choose to remain positive though

I don't need Bioware to define that relationship for me ... Maybe that is where I am having the disconnect.
As long as it is in-game and treated with respect that is all I require.

My FemShep goes for the heart, not the gender.
After reading your fanfic I must say that your FemShep is pretty much like a twin of mine.TheMarshal wrote...

Pretty much this for my FemShep. Her first love was a girl. When that went south (big-time) she sought out non-relationships with guys before swearing off relationships entirely. Then along came Liara. Whatever gender, I think she would have been taken with Liara.
I always like to say that she's not 'into' asari, she's 'into' Liara.

Lizard, ol' buddy, ol' pal, I have to say - you're terrible at giving compliments! That's not a criticism, just an amused observation.
The transitioning was perfectly timed with the music, I found. I especially liked the reaper scene.

What can I say? I your regular forum-hater!
But seriously though. I hope I am not coming off as too much of an ****!

Hehe no worries, Lizard. Most of us know you in here and we know nothing negative is meant by it! I have to say it took me a few posts to get used to it but it was obvious that was just how you gave compliments, in your own way.
Out of curiosity (and the question is related, I swear) what region are you from?
Back on-topic: I just noticed another tweet (not sure how old it is)
saying Shep's emotional depth and history will be explored a bit more in
ME3. This might mean more meaningful conversations with LIs. I really
do hope to see more touching moments between Liara and Shepard. ^^
