Feels silly to create a seperate thread for discussing ME3!Liara stuff. Can't we just keep it in this thread. And avoid as much as possible to spoil ME3 in general?

I guess it might depend if we're moving to the ME3 forum.

True. Forgot that Bioware might create a ME3 forum. Shouldn't we simply then just create a new offical Liara thread and abandon this one? I just don't think it is wise to have two active Liara threads.

"EDIT"

Regarding the green LOTSB armor. I don't like it that much. Her signature labcoat might have had green in it. But it also had a good deal of white. There is almost only green on it.

I agree with Lizard on the armor, even though Liara's labcoat had a bunch of green, I think white is the colour best suited to Liara. Add a little blue and it looks even better (referring to the colour blue on Liara's armor this time, not to Liara herself.. )

Indeed. If you are going to have a single dominating colour. I think white is much more suited on Liara than green.

I agree.  White compliments her blue skin a lot better than any other color, especially green.

Actually the 'explorer' armor is white/blue, I think I prefer it for Liara to the purely white 'Ursa' armor. Although I have only ever found 1 set of light explorer armor so most of the time I just outfit Liara with ursa armor.

Can't remember the explore armor but there is not alot of blue compared to the white if I remember correctly. Just like there is still the black (from the underlying armor) and blue on Liara's LOTSB armor.

Yes Ursa is a good choice. Ursa or Mantis.

That would be ideal...

On one hand,
discussing Liara in the context of new information would provide a boost
for the thread, and lead to some interesting speculation.  We've
discussed Liara in the context of ME1/ME2/LOTSB to death.

On the other hand, spoilers.

I
personally love the pre-release spoilers as I feel they all tend to be
minor in relation to mega game ruining ones.  If we go the spoiler
route, I can change the thread title and add a *ME3 spoilers* phrase to
the end.

I guess we need to decide if this thread will be the
place to discuss ME3 Liara or if that should only be kept to spoiler
heavy threads, like the "ME3 confirmed features" thread.  Any feedback
is welcome.

I can't resist spoilers, but I think it would be good just to mark them as -> [spoiler]
It's not a big deal, but there are people who don't want to read them.

And last but not least.

I've a question that I hope the
Liaramancers don't take as a jab at Liara... but if you "break up" with
Liara in LotSB, will her picture on Shepard's desk turn face-down? Does
it disappear? Or does nothing happen to it at all, unless you "cheat" on
her with another character?

I'm just curious. Nothing against
Liara, honest, but I was just wondering about how much the game pays
attention to the "break up" in LotSB, if you choose not to rekindle the
romance.

One of my femSheps had been a naughty girl and hooked up with everyone including Miranda.
The picture goes down if you have an ME2 LI and goes up again if you break up with them.
But I don't know what happens if you get back together with Liara and keep your ME2 LI.
I check it out later. And don't hurt me, what ever happens in savegames stays in savegames.

Thanks! I'll try that sometime.

@Kumquats

Your Femshep hooked up with Miranda? Care telling me how you managed that? Not that I'd trade in Liara for Miranda of course.. That'd be a downgrade (imo)

You need Gibbed Savegame Editor and a lot of patience, don't talk to her until you did her loyality mission. And after that change Shepard's gender before doing any conversation with her.
I would never trade Liara for Miranda, but I have 2 careers where I do really stupid stuff with my Shepard's and a lot of modding the savegames. Like bringing Legion to Heastrom. The next thing I want to try out is, if I can play as Liara. I know I can bring her to every mission if I want to, but she is not in any cutscenes for some screenshots.

And I still had the savegame for LotSB where you keep your ME2 LI and get back together with Liara, the picture stays down. Apparently you have to break up with the ME2 LI to get it back up.

I'm curious. If you didn't romance Liara in ME1 can you start a romance with her in the DLC? I'm just wondering if it's possible.

Sadly not. But I will guess that you can start a romance with her (if you did not romance anyone else) in ME3.

Also to shamelessly advertise for myself. Check out my new movie!

Nice one, unfortunately you left out an important part (imo). You captured a short of dr kenson aiming her gun at shepard, I think it would've been badass if the next part was about shepard using the renegade interrupt to shoot kenson. Love that part where you finally kill the annoying woman..

Edit: About romancing Liara in ME3, casey hudson confirmed this to be possible although I'd rather not see this, but oh well. If they put it in I hope they do it right, I would hate to have Liara suddenly hit on Shepard again in ME3 after turning her down in ME1 or ending the romance in Lotsb, though there's potential for some great scenes there, especially if you ended the romance in Lotsb.

True. But I just prefer the LOTSB hostage situation more! And as a result I used that at the "the coldest blood etc.." part instead of shooting Kenson.

If romancing Liara is available again in ME3. I think Shepard should be the one to start it. As you said. It could lead to a strong scene if the player went through LOTSB and ended the romance there.

That would be better yes, I think it isn't in Liara's character to start a new romance in ME3 while she's the shadow broker and everyone is in danger of getting wiped out by the reapers. But Shepard should be able to at least try to romance Liara in ME3, maybe with a possibility of her rejecting Shepard depending on his actions and choices in the previous games.

A scene with Shepard asking Liara about her feelings after breaking up with her in Lotsb could be very beautiful since Liara is really sad if you do break up with her, no matter what she says. Still, she shouldn't make it too easy for Shepard in either case.

If you break up with her during LOTSB I sitll think you should be able to resume the romance again in ME3. Hell, one the dialog options where Shepard turns the romance down he simply says "Let's take it slow then". That does not sound like permenant break-up to me.

I never said you souldn't be able to pick it up again. I do think it shouldn't be THAT easy to get back with Liara though. Shepard barging into Liara's office, talking about the romance and leaving 10 minutes later with Liara as his LI again would be weird. I wouldn't mind Liara stating she's still interested but she's not sure she should do this right now and as the game progresses she'll become more open to it. I'll probably never get to see it though since all my characters ready for import into ME3 have Liara as their only LI.

Taking about Liara's office: Which room/section of the ship do you think will be reserved for Liara? The alliance is confirmed to have done some work on the normandy but let's just assume it still looks the same from the inside. Will she be taking a comfortable room like Samara's starboard section? Or maybe Miranda's (former) office.
Or better yet, Shepard shares his personal cabin with Liara. :)

Sure. It should be a progress. like almost all the ME romances (you talk a few times and then they open up more and more).

As for the room? Hopefully Kasumi/Samara's  room or Miranda's office. Sadly I doubt the Alliance will build rooms that large or rooms which only purpose are luxery (military effeciency and all).

Perhaps a small office if lucky?

Luckily the alliance can only modify the normandy a bit, and they shouldn't have much time with it so I doubt we'll be seeing any big changes. Sure hope not, I like the big rooms and luxury compared to the normandy sr-1's small dark rooms. I'm not that worried though, the sr-2 serves it's purpose, what more could the alliance put in there since it has all the sr-1 had and then some.

Back to the room: I think Liara would want an office rather than just a room. If nothing bad happens to the SB base she will probably want to do something. Can't see her sitting around on the floor, meditating all day or sitting on a couch.

Didn't Casey Hudson already say we can expect some different rooms in the newer version?

As for Liara's private quarters. I would imagine something simple. A small office with computers and whatnot. The room should have a double-bed for various reasons.

I think he did mention that, though I think the changes will still be minor. After all, the alliance hasn't had too much time to work on the ship. As for the double bed... of course. Everything is better than the apparently solid metal bed Liara and Shepard had to use in ME1... :pinched:

It seems like no one minds ME3/Liara talk, so I just put a 'spoiler' warning in the thread title to warn non-regular posters.
