It seems like no one minds ME3/Liara talk, so I just put a 'spoiler' warning in the thread title to warn non-regular posters.

Darn.  I thought we had new ME3 Liara spoilery news!  I got excited.

Edit:  TOTP Liara

22 hours to be specific. So, you going to watch it on Spike, or the EA conference? Because they seem to be playing at the same time. Wonder if they'll be showing two different demos.

Sadly. I have a social science test for tuesday and since I live in Denmark ME3 will pop up late (if lucky it won't be too late). And I will get killed if my family discovers I spend time watching game shows instead of studying! :pinched:

E3 is next week so we will get some Liara stuff.

How do you thread-regulars wish to deal with potential spoilers regarding Liara (and possibly the game in general)?

Beg BSN for a proper BBCode spoiler tag?

It's really not that hard to do, I've seen different versions in a half-dozen different forums.

That would be ideal...

On one hand, discussing Liara in the context of new information would provide a boost for the thread, and lead to some interesting speculation.  We've discussed Liara in the context of ME1/ME2/LOTSB to death.

On the other hand, spoilers.

I personally love the pre-release spoilers as I feel they all tend to be minor in relation to mega game ruining ones.  If we go the spoiler route, I can change the thread title and add a *ME3 spoilers* phrase to the end.

I guess we need to decide if this thread will be the place to discuss ME3 Liara or if that should only be kept to spoiler heavy threads, like the "ME3 confirmed features" thread.  Any feedback is welcome.

*Snip snip*

I've been really lazy with posting lately due to the circles we seem to be covering (always with the eyebrows) but I'll throw my two cents in anyway. I'm going to try and avoid spoilers as they relate to story but I have no problem with them being discussed here. With anything major maybe just the arbitrary:
*ME3 SPOILER WARNING*

Given recent forum events thread ownership counts for a lot and you posted a really good set of ground rules at the start that have kept the thread civil and with good discussion. If by the time ME3 rolls around this thread is a little unwieldy, possibly negotiate a closure with a mod and start up a new Liara thread? It's just a thought though no pressure Image IPB

Speaking of spoilers... Just posted a big spiel on why I always romance Liara on another thread, thought I'd share it here.
*Mass Effect 2 and LotSB spoilers*
I always choose Liara because of how much she honest to god shows her feelings for Shepard. Rather than simply saying "I love you." We see how much she has changed in spite of the death of Shepard and the everything she has done since then. In Mass Effect, she was innocent and unknowing of the universe. Shepard and Liara just kind of fall into eachother and eventually it evolves into a relationship. I'll admit, Shepard's lines in this we're a bit lackluster (I'm looking at you "Just tell me what to do."), but overall, I found it to be the most heartfelt romance of them all ("These things never make sense, we just get swept up in the storm."). Flash to the starting events of Mass Effect 2, Shepard dies, and Liara herself feels guilty because she could have been the one to get Joker, she could've died in his place. Then the events of Mass Effect: Redemption occur, she recovers Shepard's body and goes through her whole Shadow Broker ordeal. While she may use this as her cover, we are shown that the true source of this newfound coldness is because of Shepard's death. Even before she learns of the Broker's involvement, she is not the same Liara. It is nothing but her passion for Shepard that drives her to such emotional extremes. When you finally meet her again in Mass Effect 2, she can hardly accept the fact that you're still alive (The cake is a lie). She is still tied down to the heartbreak she has went through to bring you back, and believes its eradication will allow her to move on in life. In this, she nearly loses herself, becoming obsessed in taking revenge on the Shadow Broker and feeling guilty once more for the loss of Feron, just as she did for Shepard. And perhaps she was right, as it is not until Lair of the Shadow Broker that she finally comes to grips with her past, and realizes that Shepard isn't going anywhere. This character progression is what makes the romance so beautiful, and is one of my favorite parts of the entire trilogy. Sorry bout that big speil on Liara, but it needed to be done. I also want to take this time to note-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!

I didn't mind the lipstick.

It seems you can 'talk' to Liara if you have XBox....

It looked like they were using her old, pre-LotSB facial texture. I saw pink lips and very white scalp markings.

I just think that's going to be awkward during the love scene...especially if your roommate/sibling/parents walk in on you

It's more like you can back-seat drive for Shepard while Shepard talks.

You'll be her wing-gal.

It reminds me  more of Cyrano de Bergerac in a way.

Which demo are you guys talking about? I saw a short gameplay movie just now but no Liara in there. Is there another one out there? How do I get to it... Me wants to see!

The E3 Microsoft press conference that is being streamed live....I don't think there's a link to it yet, but there probably will be one shortly.

I didn't think they were going to show the demo until the EA conference. This is really weird...

Edit: Thanks marshal

Couple screencaps from the demo showing Liara:

I'm hoping it's just stand-in art. I can't imagine they'd do the LotSB redesign just to throw it away for ME3.

I noticed it's just a small part, I do hope Liara puts on her dark lipstick in the real game though. There's really no need to change anything to her Lotsb face or body...

@ marshal

I wouldn't worry about it. They've worked their behinds off to get this demo done. There will be a lot of polish left before the game is released.

It's funny that she has the LotSB model but the ME1/ME2 facial texture.
