I absolutely love the ME3 squad UI.
I want Liara to get those blue eyes from LotSB back, though.
Notice the squadmate Paragon/Renegade bar?
I wonder if that will be in the final game and if the bar will be auto set by Bioware and/or if Shepard will influence it.

My Shepard also does not want to marry or have kids but I do love Liara's response, so I play it as a tease.
I didn't really like the other dialogue choice, just wish that there had been a 3rd option that was somewhere between the two. Something that was flirty & loving with a promise of a playful future together.
Yeah, it can be seen that way, but my Shepard's all angsty McAngst Butt.

If that's legit (and not just an unfinished UI that is showing Shepard's bar) I hope it works similar to the DA2's friend/rival system, in that you can get two different paths/endings with each character if they lean towards one philosophy or the other. They did say character dev was more important.
I'm not sure what Paragon Liara would be vs. Renegade? Perhaps Renegade Liara goes back to doing Shadow Broker stuff, while Paragon does...something else? Becomes more involved in galactic politics? Becomes a Justicar? *flees*

LOL!! Poor Liara seems to be stuck with two "problem" children.

Does anyone else think that Bioware should use Liara's LotSB armor as an example, instead of Miranda's Catsuit? When I first saw it, I really thought that they were going in the right direction, you know, with ARMOR.
Miranda would look overdressed in Liara's outfit and it would be too tight in certain places. And then what would Liara wear? ... oh, I see. You sneaky snake.

All Things Pass
www.fanfiction.net/s/6883994/1/All_Things_Pass
Takes place during ME1 and goes up to Ilos. Completely finished.
Sub Specie Aeternitatis
www.fanfiction.net/s/6997081/1/Sub_Specie_Aeternitatis
A sequel to "All Things Pass." Takes place throughout ME2. It is not necessary to read the first one to understand the second, but I would recommend reading "All Things Pass" beforehand because I have interwoven themes, ideas, and literary elements from the first story into the second. I think you'd get more out of it if you read "All Things Pass" first. This is almost finished. I have only one more chapter to complete.
I have another story that features Liara somewhat heavily, but as one person put it "this is different than "typical" Liara-related (or, rather, Liara-tagged anyway) fics-no rainbows and ponies here."
Anyway, if you choose to take a look at the stories, then I hope you enjoy.

So, if you're curious, there's also that story, but it's darker than the above two since it features a pretty hardcore renegade.
Anyway, if you choose to take a look at the stories, then I hope you enjoy.
I'm always pleased with Renegades who romance Liara. I will check it out after work.
Thx for the infos about the bar and I get the CE for this game! Need Robo-Dog!

when do you think we'll be able to recruit her? Make a pitstop by the SB base? Who'd take over then? Feron?
Just as soon as I see the greenlight it's off to the SB base! Let's hope that it is somewhere near the beginning of the game. My femshep could give a rat's as5 about the whole SB set-up ... she wants Liara with her now. They have been apart for over 2 - 3 years really. Enough is enough!
As far as Feron goes, if my femshep has any say in the matter, he will be left on the SB base.
Sorry, but my Shepard has her jealous side and she doesn't trust the drell around Liara.
Now my other Shepards (who didn't romance her) will invite her buddy onboard!

This screenie was taken right after the "I feel bad for him/her but I'm glad you chose me" dialogue right after choosing Liara over Kaiden/Ashley? I love that scene^_^

Well to be honest I don't think it's in Liara's personality to run around the battlefield half naked or in a catsuit. However the same can be said about Ashley and look what they put on her in ME3. I'm not too worried about this since we're so far away from release and Liara seems to be wearing her Lotsb armor anyway.
Ok, it was confirmed on Casey's twitter that the bar was just there 'cuz the UI isn't exactly finished. So yeah, no Paragon/Renegade Liara.
Thanks for clearing that up anyway. Better than baseless speculation and to be dissapointed later.

Is it sad to say that I didn't even realize I was leading Ash on until they both confronted me in that scene? I was just being nice. How naive I was.Robhuzz wrote...

They might just say "get used to it" though, like they did with the LotSB model to those who liked the old one. :/
Well, in the second alternate appearance pack Miranda gets some actual armor rather than her catsuit thing that looks surprisingly useful rather than just tissue paper. If they go along this path I would have no complaints.

Figured as much for the renegade/paragon bar. Well, at least that'll uncomplicate multiple playthroughs for me. I thought I'd have to do two separate playthroughs where I renegade and paragon influence Liara. You know, just to see what would happen.

Happy to hear it
It might have offered more character development in relation to in-game choices but I found when playing DA2 I was constantly checking who I was taking with me where because I kew they would all react differently in each mission and trying to get some characters on rival (looking at you Varric) and others on Friendship (Carver) was challenging with many reloads.
It was distracting enough to be thinking about having to choose Paragon for certain later chocies when I would rather have gone Renegade. Now that I've been through ME2 many many times I just go Paragade but I'm not convinced a paragon/renegade bar would have been good. I find having only two options prevents the characters from being complex and having faults. I rather have Liara able to call my Shepard out on any choice she disagrees with rather than ones that, sort of fit but not really with her philosophy.

Funny for you to mention that. I did the exact same thing in one playthrough. Because I wanted a playthrough were every party member was on the friendship path (even fenris) I actually used the dragonage wikia to see which quests gave friendship points to which party member and changed my party accordingly. This is something I'd rather avoid in ME3. I'm not saying I'd want an approval system in ME3 but people calling Shepard out on his descisions would be nice. Kind of like the rachni queen situation or the geth heretic rewrite. With Wrex becoming mad for not destroying the rachni queen and Garrus/Tali not wanting the main geth faction to become stronger.

If the Justicar bit is true, you think she might do it simple so she won't move on from Shepard, until she dies?
I have a hard time believing Liara will be a justicar in ME3. According to the codex there is an extremly tough training in order to achieve such a title. I doubt Liara has had the time to complete one in under half a year (or how long time there is between LOTSB and ME3).
Even if she does express some interest I hope my Shepard can tell her that she find better ways to help the galaxy than give her self up to some ancient (and outdated?) code.

Exactly it sounds great to have NPC responses tied to ingame choices and it is but when you add in an approval meter it breaks the immersion because it's no longer about the story it's about getting the right approvals for the right characters thankfully it's not in.Robhuzz wrote...

@TMA - I don't know if Liara would get over Shepard easily, it's possible but I doubt it but I also doubt she's remain single her whole life, Liara seems the kind that wants to settle down eventually but that's probably me projecting as there isn't really much evidence to go on. I also hope the Justicar stuff is just an outfit, I can't think of a sensible progression from Archaeologist to Information Broker to Justicar. But that's based off Samara's attitude if she was different I might think differently.

Posté 09 juin 2011 - 12:13

Actually, after looking at the outfit again (carefully this time), it looks like it's an EXACT copy of Liara's Lotsb outfit, just in a red/black colour, complete with the small cape and everything. Not Samara's outfit at all. This pretty much throws the justicar rumours out the window as far as I'm concerned.
