Well, there's always fanfiction. Maybe I should try my hand at writing something.
Naw, I'd probably mangle the characterization.
Well, maybe I'll try just one chapter. Just to see how I'd do...
Go for it. It never hurts to try.

So you're saying that Cerberus' 2nd choice for "bloody icon" [for humans to rally around] would be an asari tangentially related to their operation? Never mind that I don't think Liara would be particularly interested in working for a *pro-human* *terrorist* group to save humans with Shepard gone.

I know what you are saying, but we can hope for more of a ME1 love scene vs the ME2 ones. There needs to be passion and we really didn't see passion from the ME2 LI. Well, Tali's sorta was, but that's about it. Even Miranda's to me was meh. Maybe because I really don't like Miranda nor trust her.Robhuzz wrote...

I thought the little scene after the fight with the shadow broker was really nice you know<3 Still I agree we need some more screens like *points up* in ME3. Though judging from the advances of romance scenes from ME1 --> DAO -- ME2 -- DA2 and now --> ME3, I'm not holding my breath for anything more than we got in the Liara/Shepard cabin scene.
Oh well, here's to hoping The Witcher 2 at least helps to break this 'anti nudity in games even if they're rated 18+' stigma.

I have done 3 of the 4 relationships in DA2 and only one has any passion in my view was Isabella's. Even though they were clothed, you(me anyway) see the passion between the two or hot lust. Take you pick.
There is a bunch of passion between Liara and Shepard(both games) and even Shepard and the VS in ME1, that I hope gets better in ME3.

There's plenty of passion between Liara and Shepard. I especially liked Liara's playful attitude around the time of the 'I don't know, that's a big promise to make' dialogue by Shepard. Nodding and playfully inviting Shepard to kiss her... it was full of passion. A scene showing the passion from ME2 with some of the visuals from ME1 would serve this purpose best, even if BW used a lot of clever camera positions to censor the whole thing, I think it's better than the screen fading to black.
I suppose we can expect an increase in passion too, I suspect the 'real' romance scene in ME3 will happen en route to what could be the final battle. With a near 100% chance (In both Shepard and Liara's opinion) that neither of them will survive the mission, I suppose this scene should be AT LEAST as powerfull as the ME1 scene.
I assumed that the "If Lazarus project had failed" indicated Cerberus involvement but fair enough.f1r3storm wrote...

Uh? What has Cerberus to do with the mission in Arrival?

I also liked that they teased each other. Could use more of that in ME3.

I don't particularly need displayed nudity to feel the emotion/heat/intensity of a love scene. DAO-style simulated sex in underwear, though, would be pretty bad. I think ME1's scenes were darn near perfect. Add a couple more seconds of footage and some more personalized (for the character) shots and I think you'd have a winner.

Well with BW's promise of 'less squadmembers but with more depth and dialogue' I'm expecting at least a proper kiss from Liara when visiting her on the SB base, doubt that's too much to ask? And teasing eachother... It's easily possible given the state of their relationship in ME3 though it seems a little... out of place... considering humanity (and probably the asari too by the time you reach Liara) is/are being destroyed on their home planets. I still hope there's some time for proper small time liara romance throughout the game though.

Yeah okay. You're right about teasing seeming somewhat out of place.
Jugding by Casey Hudson description of the romance dynamic I would expect alot of the dialog to be somewhat more "angsty" (not the best word to use which is why I put the "" on). Less teasing and serious.

I understand what you mean. Still, there was still time for romance in ME2 even though the situation for humanity seemed quite dire, we even had time in between to help Liara get the shadow broker even though the point was to stop the collectors as quickly as possible. The scales are a little bigger this time it's true, still I think they'll find time for some shameless teasing and proper romance in ME3. We'll just have to wait and see...

I would argue that it was because LOTSB was written as bridging DLC so Liara and Shepard romance was meant to happen after the Collectors were destroyed. So basicly it was during the calm before the storm.
