I constantly wonder if people got that same feeling. I pretty much only have one other person to really talk to about how much I love the universe, and my love for Liara's character. She carries so much gravity with her it's absurd. Within the context of the story, Liara is just as vital of a character as Shepard is, and equally as intriguing. All of the banter between Shepard and Liara was amazing, and assuming you have her as your romance, it is a very deep and meaningful affection that you really can't find anywhere else within the story. This, of course, is all made better by the fact that after everyone else gave up on searching and moved on with their lives, Liara was consistently risking her life and dealing with the worst people the galaxy had to offer with only a faint amount of hope that any of it would work and keep you alive.
Liara T'Soni FTW.
I hate to bring this up all the time. But while I dislike when people think Liara was crazy for wanting to get Shepard's body back, I also don't understand why people think that the rest of the old crew gave up or abandoned Shepard.
It's not that I don't completely discredit the other members of the old crew, because I feel like all of them really matured, and did what they could to make sure that they were making sure that Shepard's death was not in vain. However, I also feel like these things can be put into perspective. I think that after ME3 we will have a better idea of just how much Shepard is important to everyone, but as of right now I'm finding it difficult to really find the same connection with any of the other romantic interests as much as I do Liara.
As far as the other members, I feel like Wrex is still a character with a lot of love and respect for Shepard, as well as Garrus. Seeing as Williams died on Virmire in my current story, Kaiden was who I ran into on Horizon, and it is a generally very unpleasant conversation.
I'm just unsure, I feel like there are a lot of variables, but as it stands, Liara is the one person to me who never accepted Shepard's death. I'm not completely writing off any of the other characters loyalty or devotion, and I honestly feel that the family that has developed with the crew from ME1, as well as ME2, is the most gratifying thing to accomplish.
