Same here. My two current games (which are on hold for the moment) I tried splitting LotSB in half. Get sb before suicide mission then return and invite Liara to the Normandy. I haven't decided yet if I like that order. Since I'm planning to restart both games I may hold off until after the sm for the entire thing.

Hehe. I know what you mean.
And not only that. If you do LotSB mission before SM, you're start wondering...."Ok, I have this base at my disposal. There's new tech, I can raise money, I get resources, good and trustworthy intel... why the hell can't I tell TIM to shove it ?"

LOL, they should have just made the mission post-SM.  This way, we wouldn't fret over what's the best way to do the mission.  :D

I did try to do it pre-SM but I just can't do it...it's inexplicable.  I just can't!  I have to save it until post-SM.

Good point...perhaps that's why it feels better post-SM.

The main reason I save LotSB for last is because I don't want my time with Liara to be over before the suicide mission. The "come back soon Liara" is sad enough as it is to have it too early in the game.

That's another good reason, scamper.

What was everyone's favorite moment in LotSB, btw?

Oh, but If do play LotSB pre-SM, I invite Liara to the Normandy post-SM. Otherwise, I probably couldn't finish the game o_0

there's so many but probably the kiss after defeating the Shadow Broker.
Maybe I'll have to replay it to see if I change my mind. ;)

The kiss was probably my fave as well. Also, seeing Liara's Ph.D. in her apartment made me squee and geek out big time.

Favorite moment in LotSB... when Liara uses her whits to call out the SB as a Yahg. The look on his face! Its probably been years maybe decades since somebody knew something that he didn't forsee. I always do the SB mission post Suicide Mission. It just seems to fit better with the story i think. Before you are so focused on stopping the collectors that the broker is a side-note... plus Liara thinks she can handle it, so after the mission you can help her out.

Kiss after SB has been destroyed is really high on my list of best moments, but I still like "I don't know, marriage, old age and lot of a little blue children." "You just say these things" the most. I was emotional wreck at that point from all the emotions going on with Liara and my Shep that it was so nice of hear them be playful.

Edit: As for when I play LotSB depends on Shep I'm playing at the moment. Mostly it's after SM, but there are exceptions.

The Ilos picture/N7 armor were awesome finds in Liara's cabin.

And while the "little blue kids" line was a bit cheesy, Liara's reaction made me smile from ear to ear. Definitely my favorite part, seemed so in character for her to be so poor at hiding her feelings.

Edit: DAMN ! Ninja'ed on my favorite part!

Hard to say since LOTSB as a whole were of high quality. But if I had to pick three moments I really enjoyed.

1: Cabin reunion. This entire scene was pretty much perfect, from Shepard finally opening up. Making a joke about living happily ever after, and Liara's response to that.

2: Aftermath of SB fight. It was awesome to see Liara taking the role of the SB, even if it was a little saddning at the same time. It was also hearthwarming to see Liara and Shepard embracing each other again.

3: Aftermath of Vasir fight. The following interupts were all good. Mark Meer also does some of the lines here quite well.

Favourite moments in LotSB? Stating the whole thing would be accurate, but I'll specify! Exploring and investigating Liara's apartment was something I absolutely loved, especially when we were able to examine her framed doctorate degree certificate, her painting of Ilos, and a piece of Shepard's old N7 armour. There was something special about the whole thing, and although it was quite simple in its presentation, it felt as if we were gaining additional insight into her character.

I also liked Liara's first appearance whilst confronting Vasir, and how she dramatically emerges from the shadows. Even know I was aware of the fact that there was little chance of her being hurt in the explosion, it was still a relief to see that she was okay. There's also the fact that she was absolutely badass during that scene, especially when considering that someone as powerful as a Spectre was fleeing from her.

The car chase sequence was also absolutely brilliant, and I loved the banter between Shepard and Liara. As others have no doubt stated before, the pair argue like an old married couple, and I actually think it serves to increase the feeling of them being a couple to an even greater extent, as people who are in love argue all the time. Not only that, but the dialogue was damn funny too!

Hotel Azure. Again, the banter was hilarious, and the relationship between the pair feels so genuine and realistic. Hell, I could just say that any of the banter throughout the duration of the DLC was brilliant! The conversation with Liara following Vasir's defeat was also good, as we're given additional insight into the extent of Liara's suffering and pain in the two years prior to the events of ME2. I also believe that we begin to witness the very first signs of the weakening of Liara's emotional barriers, particularly in her facial expressions when Shepard is attempting to talk to her. It's wonderful character development, and I found it extremely touching.

The eventual confrontation with the Shadow Broker. The manner in which Liara displays her vast intellect via bluffing the Shadow Broker, and throwing all of his crap back in his face was just incredible. She openly challenges one of the most powerful individuals in the galaxy, ridicules him, and even calls him a "pet". Awesome, and so deliciously badass.

Finally, I think that every scene following the Shadow Broker's defeat is either amazing, emotional, touching, deep, beautiful, or a combination of them all. Liara taking control of the Shadow Broker's network was a great scene, and I actually feel oddly proud of her when she does so. The significance of such an event cannot be understated, and it's awe-inspiring to see her take control of such a powerful resource, and intend to use it for the power of good and to help people. It's an epic scene, and I enjoy watching it every single time.

The romance reconciliation and kiss afterwards is absolutely beautiful, and it's genuinely touching to witness Liara allow herself to fall in love with Shepard again. So much pain and misery has finally been resolved, and she's achieved catharsis at last. The passionate kiss is pretty self-explanatory, as is the simple yet effective dialogue afterwards. At that point, so much heartache and pain has finally lifted off of Liara's shoulders, and the reaffirmation of the romance is great.

Lastly, the cabin scene. Probably the most touching and beautiful scene in the entire series thus far. The manner in which Liara hands Shepard's dogtags back to her is such a sweet moment, and I think it's symbolic of the fact that Liara now has Shepard back in her life, and therefore no longer needs them. I also adore how Liara shows genuine concern for Shepard's personal wellbeing and welfare, and also attempts to reinvigorate the woman she loves with the courage to keep on fighting. Very few people seem to care about Shepard on a personal level during ME2, and Liara is certainly one of them. In spite of all of her suffering, she still remains as selfless and compassionate as ever. Beautiful.

It's also testament to the strength of their close relationship that Shepard will confide in Liara, one of the few people who she will drop her emotional barriers to. To the rest of the galaxy, Shepard is an infallible badass, and someone with no emotions. To Liara, Shepard is a woman with fears, anxieties and doubts. Again, it's a wonderful moment.

"You're alive again. I've got everything I want."

"I don't know. Marriage, old age, and a lot of little blue children?"

Need I say anything more? I was actually shedding tears at the conclusion of the cabin scene, and how Shepard and Liara will always be there for each other. Liara's tears, her incredibly touching and emotional request that Shepard promise to return, the manner in which she tearfully laments Shepard's death, and the eventual romantic and flirtatious dialogue between them as they are physically intimate once again. It's beautifully well-written, and cements their relationship as more than mere romance. They're deeply in love with each other, and it shows in how the pair reaffirm their love. Combine this with general flirtatious and playful interaction between the pair during the scene, and I it results in something deeply touching and beautifully romantic. I absolutely adore the DLC's romance content, and the development and progression of Liara's romance and character.

I apologise for the large post, but I absolutely adore LotSB. I can't wait for ME3!

Another example of truly outstanding writing (and voice acting) is the moment when Liara says "Okay.", and Shepard simply replies with "Okay!". So few words, but so much said, without the need for the actors to speak it out. A very beautiful moment.

The whole DLC was a joy to experience but I have two moments from LotSB that stick out for me. First, I was incredibly moved when Shepard sees a piece of her armour in Liara's apartment. It was such a touching moment and really brought home what had happened to Shep and how much she meant to Liara. Second, the whole scene after the SB defeat. Liara's decision to take on the responsibilities of becoming the SB, her finally breaking down after a long 2 years and the eventual kiss - it was all executed so well and it was the first time I'd ever been brought to tears playing a video game. That's what a wonderfully crafted scene can do.

When I played through I missed the last paragon interrupt before leaving Illium, so I never got to hear the dialogue where Shep wants to talk about "them". I really gotta be faster on the uptake next time...

I'm torn between "You worried there might be more terminals for me to hack" and "okay ... okay. okay".

Hah!

I was incredibly vigilant and prepared during my first playthrough of LotSB. There was absolutely no chance of me missing anything, especially if it's related to the romance.

I wonder if Liara, now that she has assumed a position of vast political power and influence, ever thinks back to what Matriarch Benezia was attempting to do, and now appreciates her actions and goals as a leader of people? I do think that it was always an inevitability that Liara would follow in Benezia's footsteps, and use her power to help people. Liara may now realise and appreciate the importance of what her mother was trying to accomplish as a Matriarch, obviously before she joined up with Saren.

I was far too caught up in the moment to catch that last paragon interrupt.   If I miss it next time, I'll definitely be restarting a save to catch it...

I'm also lucky that I had no missed interrupts (there are tons too).

I've tried to miss them on later playthoughs out of curiosity, and the dialog with a missed interrupt is kind of sucky...I don't recommend missing them.

That's interesting.  Do you mean Liara had to learn to love Shepard again (after two years) or that she just needed to let herself love Shepard again?
