Additionally, I believe that the Shadow Broker Base will be a form of hub world that Shepard can visit at any time, and Liara will always be available to talk to via the standard "Investigate" options. It's just that the romance and plot-sensitive dialogue will progress concurrently with the main story. Essentially, the mechanics of Liara's romance would remain the same as how they were presented in ME1.

In all probability, it's my absolute favourite piece of romance content that BioWare have ever produced.

Yeah, something like that. Though, I wonder what kind of dialog you can have with her via the 'Investigate' options? Probably plot sensitive stuff.

Yeah, Shepard will probably inquire as to the current state of the Shadow Broker network, the size of the task ahead, and also perhaps ask Liara if she's enjoying herself in her role as the Shadow Broker.
Miranda's "Investigate" options are probably a good indication of the possibilities that could be implemented with Liara. Anything would be better than "Thanks for stopping by."

I kind of wish they would have added some 'Investigate' options for Liara at the end of LotSB. Just two...no biggie.
Yeah, that would have been nice. However, I think the DLC's content, especially the romance scene in Shepard's cabin, is more than enough to offset the lack of Liara dialogue following LotSB's conclusion.
It would have been sweet if Shepard were able to kiss or hug her.

'there is something in the way
you're always somewhere else
feelings have deserted me
to a point of no return
i don't believe in Gods
but i pray for you
don't you slip away from me
it's you i live for
don't you leave no
don't you slip away from me
I'm vulnerable to your love'
Just felt the song describes the relationship pretty well with the entire galaxy seeming to be determined to keep them apart. You can easily imagine either of them being the singer in this.
Now if only they would release more downloadable Liara content....
Edit: better version of the song

My theory is that she will join you in the end, but for most of the game, she will be an non-squad mate and will just help you with intel and will be the 'quest giver', so to speak.

Well, yeah, I expect the next DLC will re-introduce Ash and Kaidan back into the story. No more Liara DLC though.
There's still a year left until ME3 and we know they are working on more DLC so I expect the next one to deal with the Alliance and Kaidan or Ash.

I wonder what they have planned? Especially since I believe the PS3 will not have ME1. Does BioWare just press forward with only ME2 and eventually ME3 subplots, or will they revist the Virmire Survivor's subplot? I hope Ashley and Kaidan fans get their due. They have been waiting a long time, but the PS3 creates an odd situation. To keep this some what on topic; I wonder if they will use Liara as the Shadowbroker in the future DLCs. Maybe if they use the Virmire Survivor subplot(this is purely a quickly thought of example), the Virmire Survivor's ship/crew vanished yada yada, and Liara feeds you leads/information, as you play through the DLC.

Well, we can at least hope for some videos which will show Liara in them for ME3.
It's possible she will be heavily shown in marketing as she's the only former squad mate guarunteed to be there in ME3.

I think logically the next DLC will re-introduce Ash/Kaidan into the plot again like LotSB did for Liara. The Liara DLC received very positive fan feedback, so I think it would be wise of them to do the same for Ash/Kaidan, who are also very much loved characters from ME1.
I think their DLC should follow a similar model to Liara's, where most of it focuses on getting the job done and they follow you in your squad. At the end, you can have a cabin scene with them to reaffirm the friendship/romance just like with Liara. That would be ideal, at least IMO.

I would not doubt if the SB base did get a few DLC upgrades. Whether or not that will mean more Liara dialogue, I don't know, but I doubt it. BW seems to be pretty stingy w/ dialogue at times.
LotSB will be part of the PS3 package, so I think BW is done w/ ME2 missions and will go into ME2.5 missions like LotSB. I certainly hope that Liara becomes the goto person in the next DLC. Getting mail from TIM after I told him to f off is a bit odd.

Pretty much this. They made it a big point that being the Shadow Broker is the best way that Liara can help you right now, and I doubt that she'd give that up just so that she can be by Shepard's side. I think it will happen at some point in the game, though. Perhaps not by choice...
I'm looking forward to new DLC soon, but I doubt that it will add anything to, or even really refer to LotSB, since any good DLC is going to be stand-alone by nature.

Liara as the "quest giver" could be interesting.
Liara: Shepard, stop nuzzling me!
Shepard: I don't wanna.
Liara: I gave you a mission, now get dressed and go!
Shepard: One more kiss?
Liara: People could die! Go!
Shepard: I might not come back, y'know.
Liara: Oh, allright *kiss* Now, GO!
Shepard: I'm going! I'm going!

Whatever DLC comes out, given she is now the SB, I believe Liara will play a large role. As someone said earlier, how can you still get missions from TIM when you and Miranda have the option of telling him to taking a frakking leap off a bridge at the end of the SM. And Retribution states in the first chapter that Cerberus and Shepard had gone their seperate ways and the Collector Base was destroyed I'm pretty sure.

I'm thinking the next DLC will tie in some how with Retribution the book. They can't go a year without another DLC or two, it's not possible and still have the story maintain continuity.

As much as I want more Liara. I don't think we should expect to see more of her until ME3. I think someone else than Cerberus/Liara will be the "quest starter" for the VS DLC. Not all have brought LOTSB and unless they hand it out free along with the new DLC, don't count on Liara having a part in it.
And I don't think Retribution made it canon that Shepard destroyed the base.

I went back to make sure I wasn't talking out my butt. On page 6 and 7, TIM makes it very clear in his musings that Shep destroyed the Collector Operations (Base). It's the only Operation they had going. He said they salvaged key parts of the operation, but specficaly states it was destroyed and that Shepard and Cerberus were no longer working together but might in the future.
That's about as canon as it gets. If the books are supposed to be woven in as canon.
