Liara T'Soni Character Discussion Thread *possible ME3 spoilers*

I'm completely torn on Liara as a squaddie or quest-giver in ME3. I experienced pure joy having her in the squad during LotSB, and I'd love more of that in ME3. On the other hand - while I was bothered by the abrupt-lack-of-explanation regarding Liara's character changes in ME2 (which, imo, were all fixed by the Redemption comic and LotSB), I always liked the Information Broker angle. I could see how she'd be really good at it ... and getting all of the Shadow Broker's resources? Pure win. And, well ... she does prefer research to all the explosions.
I think it depends on what's going on with the ME2 squad in ME3. Because any of them could die, it's something of a shortcut, but possible, for BW to essentially "write off" most ME2 squaddies by sending out anyone who survives on various missions as, basically, Ambassadors For Team Shepard, Convincing The Galaxy They're About To Get Pwned. Samara, Mordin, Legion, Miranda and Jacob, Grunt, Zaeed, and Tali could all easily have a task along these lines, gathering forces and allies, which would only leave Garrus, Jack, Thane and Kasumi on the SR2.
What I'm getting at is - if they come up with a reason/mechanism to remove ME2 squaddies from the SR2 and give them less screen time so they don't have to work so hard on characters who might be dead, that frees up squaddie space for characters like Liara, who could, as has been said, pass SB duties on to Feron.
And while I think Liara is a fantastic SB and I would be perfectly happy with her being a quest-giver in ME3 as long as the romance is still developed, if the Protheans really are a big part of how ME3 will shake out, those killer blue Prothean Expert eyes of hers will be more useful in the field. I could really see recovering artifacts / exploring ruins being some major quest for Shep.
As a sidenote - am I the only one who thinks a conversation between Mordin and Liara would be entirely fascinating and hilarious?

About Shepard and Aethyta, Have you read JamieCOTC's one shot fic ??
Haha! That was great. While I am here, click to vote for LotSB to win best DLC at the VGA's. The blank page with the 'ok' means your vote is counted.

I would love this. I'd love to see more interraction between the new squadmates and Liara. That was one thing I wasn't crazy about in the DLC. There wasn't really any party banter. Of course, I'd also like Liara to catch up with the VS too. They spent a lot of time together in my ME1 gamesaves.

Although I like the SB position Liara has right now, I still want the romance to be developed and her to be on my squad, just like in ME1 (good times, good times). I'm guessing Feron could stay at the SB base, giving the squad intel.
I think that is what we all hope for.
A conversation between Mordin and Liara would be great to see....just simply more banter between squadmates would have been great in ME
Personally I would love to hear a chat between Liara and Kasumi...haha imagining Kasumi being absolute inappropriate and asking Liara stuff in the likes of "So you and Shep heh?
I would especially want to SEE that banter just because of Liaras expressions.
Just the way I would like to see a civil chat between Samara and Liara. My Shep would just sit next to it and feel so relaxed and calm inside...like watching a burning fire or an aquarium.

Also, for some reason your game looks 10 times more beautifull than mine, while I've got everything turned max. Any tips?

Maybe it's ME1's lighting or older graphics. But LOTSB Liara's face in ME1 looks off.

Most that have seen her SB face in ME prefer it, though some don't which is ok. Liara is a gorgeous character with either style of makeup. However, there are some lighting situations in ME that do make her SB look off at times. Its the same with her ME looks in the SB DLC. She looks good with her old face but a lot of the lighting situations make her look odd.Lizardviking wrote...

As for her LotSB look in ME1. I think they look great! I believe it takes a little getting used to simpily because we are so attuned to what she looked like before LotSB. But once you watch a few vids, and see a few pics, she looks just as beautiful.

All versions of Liara looks good. And I guess it ultimativly boils down to each face were made with a diffrent lighting in mind. LOTSB Liara's face simply looks to dark for me (in ME1 that is). Especially abord the SR-1 with it's dark blue and not so bright lighting.

They are there, just less noticeable in many light conditions in ME. As you can see in this shot, they are very evident.Captain Iglo wrote...

I agree that the lighting is really dark in the SR1, but you can overcome that by turning up the gamma for the game, which also makes the rest of the game look better, in my opinion.Lizardviking wrote...

Something really weird that happens to me when I try to capture screenshots or videos is that they end up far darker than the in-game rendering looked.
Is that a conflict between gamma settings in game and explorer, or...?
Either way, to stay on-topic, I recently got my hands on Sunnies' mod for Liara's appearance in ME1, and it really made the whole game seem more alive and interesting. Can't really understand why, but I'm not complaining.
