Well...before this Shadow Broker thing, I wanted the pair to spend some years traveling the galaxy together. They will be bondmates by this time. Eventually, the will settle posibly have a child.
I'm not so sure now. I don't want Liara to give up her position as the Shadow Broker (unless she wants to). I guess Rachel will just spend time on the base with her, and they will occasionaly leave for a week or two to go travel somewhere. Eventually, they could have a child and then Rachel gets to play housewife while Liara works.
Rachel's tired of war and violence, so she plans on retiring after the Reapers go splat.
Ah. I really like that, and I think it would work out well for both Rachel and Liara.
Within my own headcanon, I like to imagine that Liara will install systems in her base that will allow her to operate and maintain it remotely, whilst also training and selecting a trusted subordinate that could oversee daily management of the network whilst Liara is away. Reason being is because I'd like it if Kate and Liara were to settle down on both Earth and Thessia together, alternating between living on each planet. They will become bondmates, and eventually have children together. Liara would continue to work as the Shadow Broker, albeit on a part-time basis as she will leave most of the day-to-day management to her subordinate. Both Kate and Liara will occasionally visit the base to ensure that everything is running smoothly.
I'd love it if Kate and Liara were to raise their two children on both Earth and Thessia, as this would expose them to human and asari culture and result in them acquiring a unique perspective of both species, and the galaxy at large. I like to imagine the Shepard-T'Soni family enjoying their lives together in contentment and happiness, with both parents deeply in love with each other and enjoying their time as devoted bondmates.

I never thought about where the pair would ever settle down at...it doesn't matter much to me.

It's not vitally important or crucial to the continued development of their love, but it's something that I have been thinking about.
Shepard and Liara may even be forced into living a life of seclusion. I imagine the two people who saved the galaxy would become quite famous and sought after.

Yeah, that's the one drawback of my 'tourist' idea...Shepard and Liara would be hounded by fans wherever they go. Can you imagine hundreds of Conrad Verners....it's awful.
They would have to travel to really odd-ball and remote places. Liara may have some ideas for some spots that she ran into while doing her archaeologist thang.

Indeed. That's not to say that the pair of them would be unable to deal with it, though. I don't think a few crazed fans is anything sufficient enough to compromise their love for each other.
Having said that, the galaxy is a big place. I'm sure there are multiple locations where the pair of them could settle down together in relative peace. It's quite telling that there are people on the Citadel who do not recognise Shepard, the human who saved the station from Saren and his geth. I'm sure that Shepard and Liara would be able to settle down together.

I like the idea of Shepard and Liara taking themselves off to some remote planet somewhere where they can enjoy the peace and quiet. My Shep's not one for bustling places and I'd like to think they'd both be happy having somewhere away from it all where they can explore their surroundings at their leisure.LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

Indeed. That could be a worthwhile residence for Shepard and Liara to spend their free time together.
I can just imagine the pair of them staring at the sunset together...

The one flaw in the plan is the extremely allergenic atmosphere...

Hah yeah, settling down on a small colony, barely on the galactic map, living the small town life, and raising a family would be ideal for my Shepard.

I agree. I think it's logical to assume that after experiencing and enduring such a vast amount of adversity during the Reaper conflict, both Shepard and Liara would want to enjoy each other's company in relative peace.

Kind of a random question to ask, but I was wondering what is your favorite background/psych profile for your characters that romance Liara?
I personally like Earthborn, Sole Survivor, a lot of room for roleplay and fanfic, and to me it makes the whole Liara giving you to Cerberus more dramatic considering your past with Cerberus. I dig Earthborn because, I think a kid who grew up in a bad situation, and saw some of the worst parts of humanity -- crime, gang life, poverty, etc. Would be more open to the exotic lure of aliens, and their cultures, because well humanity hasn't exactly been puppies and sunshine for them.
Just my own opinion of course, and I'd like to hear what others think.
My canon Shepard is a spacer/war hero. I like to imagine that ever since he joined the navy at the age 18 he's been something of a rising star within the alliance military, with his career rocketing sky-high after the events on Elysium. As a result he's somewhat cocky, overconfident and at times perhaps a little too full of himself (egocentric?). The thought of settling down, or even just having a lasting relationship with someone has never occured to him.
Then the events of ME1 happens and you can guess the rest of the story.

I can think of reasons to oppose or support such a thing happening. On the one hand, asari are raised to expect centuries of life, so there is no telling how such an eventuality might affect her psychologically. On the other, neither she nor Shepard would then need to worry about any Arwen/Aragorn lifespan discrepancy angst.
